27 New People in Town

My dad had taken the news I'd 'dyed' my hair pretty well. He just widened his eyes before telling me it looked pretty natural.

That was about 3 days ago. In these three days, I've been filling my head with every bit of information on fighting. How to throw a punch, how to dodge a punch, how to block a punch when you can't dodge it, etc, etc. I'd tried my best to learn everything I could find, and I dug deep for every little piece of information I could find.

As a result, I was gaining a repertoire that was quite deadly. Coupled with my research on the Human body and the weaker structural points it has. Vampires might seem like such things don't apply to them but arm bars and other joint locks still work if you have enough strength like me.

Anyway, I knew my fighting capability would be much improved after all my research. At least theoretically. This was leaving out the fact that I could also rely on my instinct to kick my combat prowess up a notch.

I didn't have much experience in fighting but my fight against Laurent helped a lot. I just needed more fights. When I got into them, I had the theoretical knowledge of fighting go off of and the learning capabilities to learn mid-fight anyway.

And that's if I don't just overpower my opponents physically. My physique was now stronger than strong Vampires like Emmett and Jasper, while I was fast enough to keep up with Vampires like Edward and Edythe now, while my reflexes and eyesight had developed to such a point that I could see them running clearly.

How did I know? Well, I watched Edward running away from our house once and instead of the blur Bella was probably seeing, it looked to me like he was sprinting away.

Not so fast now, are you, Edward~?

And the best part was that I wasn't even completely done with my phasing. If before I was 2 weeks and 4 days into the phasing, then now, I was 5 weeks and 4 days in. Whatever the Venom did made my phasing advance 3 whole weeks. I was thankful for it as well because things were kicking up.

What do I mean?

There are more covens of Vampires entering Forks. I'd picked up on 3 new scents just yesterday and after running them out in my Partial Form (What I'd taken to calling my only form as it was easier than saying/thinking Partially Transformed Form) I came upon a few fresh corpses in an abandoned house - it seemed that they were thinking of moving in.

So despite having chased them out, I knew they'd be back. This time would be different, however.

I'd be prepared for the hunt this time.

Feeling my excitement flush through my system, I closed my eyes for a second before opening them again once I'd calmed down, and then I got back to washing Bella's truck as a favor to her.

I sensed something coming from above me and looked up only to see Edward falling from the sky.

Rolling my eyes, I continued to wash the truck which he landed on, smiling.

"What's got you so happy?" I fired at him, half-listening to the music playing through my earphones. He jumped off the truck before looking at me with a slightly awkward face.

"Ah, well, I, uh, I was here to come to ask Bella if she wanted to come to meet my family tomorrow," he stuttered a little before carrying on, his awkwardness evolving, "And we've come to our decision on your situation...Carlisle and the others want to speak to you while I show Bella around the house," he didn't stay another second before he knocked on the door and was greeted by a smiling Bella.

As those two got chatting, I continued washing the truck. I needed to speak to them about the Vampires coming into town anyway, so I'd go. But it gives me tonight to do what I want regarding the Vampires.

And from the fact they even want to speak to me proves they aren't going to the Volturi as any more interaction with me would be off the table if they told those Old Bastards.

I'll need to do something about them when I have the power necessary.

Listening in on Bella and Edward's flirtation was very low on my list of things I wanted to do, so I turned up my music even louder before shouting over at the two of them, "Get a room, you two!" from the way Bella jumped before glaring at me, I might have shouted that a little louder than necessary. Though it was good to see Edward laugh at my joking.

I've got to impress Edythe's family after all, right?

Anyway, Edward soon left as Jacob and his dad came to watch the game on our flat-screen TV. When the two of them saw me, Jacob was shocked, while Billy just...well, he just looked at me with a weird look in his eyes.

"Dude, you dyed your hair? It looks a bit over the top...but I guess it suits you!" Jacob had a boyish grin on his face as he got his dad's wheelchair out the back of their truck. Once his dad was in the wheelchair, he came over and we fist-bumped each other.

Shrugging, I gave a reply, "I think you're jealous, Jake. That silver looks so good on me, that is," giving him a friendly punch to the shoulder, I made sure to hold back my power, so the punch didn't obliterate him.

Billy looked up at me before asking me something with a questioning tone, "You dyed it? It looks awfully natural..." he trailed off, staring at me with me staring right back, but he soon broke out in a smile, "Or maybe whoever did it just did a really good job, huh?"

I laughed a bit nervously while Jacob just nodded his head while murmuring something about getting his long hair dyed some color.

Anyway, Bella realized they were here, so she came out and started talking to them.

"Hey," she tucked some hair behind her ear, "Come to visit your truck?" she cheerily asked, still a bit too happy about being invited to the Cullen's house tomorrow night, presumably.

"Nah, they're here to watch the game with me and Dad," I started before sharing a mischievous glance with Billy, "And I bet Jake was constantly bugging Billy for them to come over so he could see you. Right, Billy?"

Billy let out a laugh as Jacob groaned in annoyance, leaning his head back. Billy continued laughing for a few more seconds before he looked up to me, still chuckling, "Yep! He keeps going on about it! He didn't even wanna watch the game with his old man, just wanted to see Bella!" he laughed a little more as Jacob got more and more embarrassed.

"Great, dad. Thanks, Alex..." he grunted out as he awkwardly looked off into anywhere that wasn't Bella, looking very embarrassed.

Bella chuckled awkwardly as I just smirked at his embarrassment. In reply to his grunted thanks, Billy answered with a cheerful voice.

"Just keeping it real, son," he tried to hide his smile but it was clear he was smiling at his son's embarrassment before looking at me, "And so is Alex."

I tipped my imaginary hat in a mocking gesture at Jacob before seeing my dad walk up behind Billy, having just got back from the store he lifted two six-packs of beer before calling out cheerily, "Vitamin R," making a joke that the beer was good for the two of them, or that they needed it.

I just shook my head laughing as Billy took his six-pack out of my dad's hands before lifting the three bags he had in his lap.

"Harry Clearwater's homemade fish fry," he turned to me, a smirk on his face, which made my stomach drop for some reason, "And Leah Clearwater's homemade fish fry for a certain silver-haired ladies man," he threw a bag at me which I caught mid-air with an embarrassed face that was going slightly red under both embarrassment and happiness.

It was Jacob's turn to start looking at me teasingly but I didn't care, I was just thinking about what this meant. Did it mean that Leah still wanted to speak to me or was it just a friendly thing? Putting these thoughts aside, my dad came over to me before slapping my shoulder with a playful glare.

"How come you didn't tell me you were THAT close with one of my best friend's daughters?" he laughed causing my embarrassment to further itself.

Shrugging I gave a half-hearted reply, "We've always been close, you know that Dad," I tried to brush it off but Billy came to my dad's rescue in uncovering whatever was happening.

"But 'Wanting to make homemade fish fry for you as soon as they hear you'll be there' close? I don't think so, kid," Billy chuckled like some chaotic mastermind as he finished saying this, and I felt a difficult look come over my face before I looked to Bella.

"I've finished washing your car, Bella."

After saying this, I escaped to the living room for a momentary respite away from the typical stares you get from family and close friends of the family when they find out you're close with a member of the opposite sex.

I heard multiple laughs from behind me, along with Jacob making snide comments in a voice loud enough for me to hear on purpose, but I ignored them and brought the fish fry closer to my nose to smell it.

It smelt nice. And it wasn't poisoned. So, I think that's a good sign, right?

. . .

Currently, I was waiting around the woodland area I was chasing those Vampires through last night. I was sniffing around for their scent but they hadn't been back since, so there's a big possibility I'll run into them tonight.

I was currently looking down at my phone, wondering if I'd get a message off Leah. I mean, she made some food for me. Was it just food or was it 'trying to send a message' food? So, in the mood of wasting time until something happened, I just looked at my phone. I even drafted up a few messages to her but all of them were denied because they were pretty...well, stupid, I guess.

So, while I was up a tree in my Partial Form, I just looked at my phone until finally, a scent hit my nose.

One Vampire. Easy.

Jumping from tree to tree, I made my way over to where the scent was coming from. Each of my footsteps was silent and only caused the branches and trees to creak a little - something all too common in the woods. So it wouldn't attract anyone's attention, especially Vampires who have to actively ignore most of what they hear in case of a sensory overload. My senses are naturally sharper than a Vampire's and my ability to process what I sense is much stronger as well, so I don't need to limit myself.

I guess it's a wolf thing?

Putting an end to such thoughts, I saw the telltale sign of a Vampire's pale skin even in the pitch-black darkness surrounding us. He seemed to glow in the dark he was that white.

I could see that the Vampire was of average height and average built, he also only looked above average in terms of looks, whereas most Vampires looked like models in terms of appearances. He had black hair and most incriminating, he had red eyes - the sign of a Vampire that drinks Human blood.

He seemed to be feeding right now and that annoyed me-- Wait a minute, how come I don't smell the blood?

Sniffing the air, actively searching for the metallic smell of blood, I confirmed I couldn't smell any. Weird. I guess I'd be adding that to the list of question I'm gonna be asking this guy.

Sneaking above him silently, I did exactly what I did to Laurent: I dropped myself on him.

Falling through the air, I quickly landed on the Vampire who was distracted with feeding. I slammed a hand into the back of his head before ripping him away from the already dead victim.

His eyes widened in confusion but before he could react, I slammed his head face-first into the ground and pulled his arm behind his back, holding him down with it and applying an unnatural amount of pressure through my superior strength. He yelled out in pain but a quick punch to the back of his head pushed his head far enough into the ground that he couldn't be heard anymore.

When I felt like letting him back up, I pulled his head back by his hair.

"Who are you and why are you here in Forks?" I asked him, practically growling out my words. No matter who he was, he was snacking on the people from my town, and that, that wasn't something I liked all too much.

Coughing up dirt, the Vampire stuttered his reply in fear as he heard the cracking of his arm from behind him, "I, I'm from out of town and I'm here to visit the Cullens...The Cullens!" he screeched as I applied more pressure.

"Yeah, but why?" I cheerily spoke, sounding quite unhinged as what I was doing didn't match up with how I was talking.

The Vampire wiggled underneath me, clearly uncomfortable with the pain, but he hissed up at me in annoyance.

"I'm here to tell the Cullens that the Coven I'm a part of are moving to this town! Now, please, stop doing what you're doing!" he screamed out hoarsely.

When I went to get off him, I heard a very audible sigh of relief but that relief quickly turned into confusion when I grabbed him by the back of his neck and started dragging him along with me. Whenever he tried to break free from my grip, I slammed him into the ground about a bit or until he became a bit more docile.

I did answer his question on where we were going, however.

"We're going to the Cullen's house. I need to see if they were expecting you," I smiled down at him grinning like a Cheshire cat, "If not...well, that's it for you, I'm afraid."

After that, he went silent, so I assumed he'd either accepted his fate or they were indeed expecting him. I'd favor the latter because if they weren't expecting him, he'd at least have tried bargaining with me by now.

So on I ran to the Cullen's house before finally, I arrived and for once I could knock the door before one of them opened it for me.

Thankfully, it was Carlisle who answered. He looked at me confusedly before looking down at the Vampire clamped in my hand.

"Alexander, why are you holding my friend Oskar by the neck?" he asked with a slightly worried look but I ignored him and threw the so-called Oskar onto the floor behind, Carlisle which pretty much made every Vampire in the house appear.

"I found him and his Coven Mates feeding on people from the town yesterday, and tonight, I found him feeding on another inhabitant of the town. He said he was here to meet you, but I guess he got a little hungry, huh?" I asked sarcastically but when I saw Carlisle pretty much glare at the Vampire on the floor, I realized he didn't know, but I didn't back off too much as I continued, "Just get your little chat over, and make sure he's gone by tomorrow when my sister and I get here."

I turned around to walk away but Rosalie's voice made me turn back around.

"And why should we listen to you, a glorified dog, and what you have to say?" she scowled angrily at me trying to tell them what to do but I just rolled my eyes at her.

"Take a look at his eyes, Rosalie - he drinks Human blood! Why would I bring my Human sister to a house where there's a Vampire who has Human blood on his diet!? Use your brain, goddamn," I spat out venomously before carrying on with a much more dangerous tone to my voice, "And if there's anything that threatens to hurt my sister being harbored by your Coven when she visits this house, Rosalie, bar Edythe, I'll tear you all apart. We clear?"

Silence fell once I'd finished this but seeing Alice get all stiff all of a sudden, I decided to clear up one thing, "Don't worry, I don't mean Jasper as well, Alice. I know that he wouldn't willingly try and hurt Bella and that if he tried, you'd try and stop him along with all the others. How do I know? Because he wouldn't be trying to become a Vegetarian Vampire if he didn't care about human life."

Finishing what I had to say, I shot off back home. But I do hope the Cullens deny that Oskar's Coven entry to the town. I really don't think they have the necessary control that the Cullens do.
