In a barely lit office at night, Kei gazed coldly at the man laying on the floor gasping for breath clutching his wounded stomach, gun in hand with a trail of smoke coming from it.

"*Huff* You *Huff* Backstabbing failure…" The man gasped out, glaring at Kei with a hollow yet enraged expression.

His black hollow eyes met cold and unfeeling silver.

Kei just tilted his head slightly, his expression becoming colder.

"Backstabbing? I don't recall backstabbing you."

"You… *huff* impudent child *huff* what do you mean you didn't backstab me? I raised and groomed you, I *huff* gave you everything. And *huff* yet, you betrayed me and the Michiaki family?!"

"… Although some of that is true, you did give me everything, everything that you thought I wanted, but, everything that was given to me will never be at equal to what you have taken from me. And no, not the Michiaki family, just you and some others."

The man's face contorted in rage.

"All of this? Because I dispose of that bastard child of mi-"

*Bang*

"Gah!!!"

Kei shot a bullet to his right kneecap causing him to topple over clutching his new wound as he let out of cry of pain.

"I would prefer it if you didn't refer to her with that mouth of yours with such a name."

The man just glared at Kei, who responded with his unchanging cold emotionless expression, though if one were perceptive enough they could see a hint of anger.

Raising his gun, Kei aim was directed to the man's head.

"Although it brings me nothing but disgust talking you, it brings me more satisfaction seeing your current expression."

The man struggled and crawled for his life, but it was futile action.

"Let's end this why don't we?"

Kei readies his finger on the trigger as the man glared at him with everything he had.

"Oh and by the way, I did not backstab you, I shot you, so let this bullet be in your head be your refresher."

"You*Huff* Bastard, you think *Huff* this is the end? I'll *Huff* find my way out of hell *Huff* and get my revenge and make you pa-"

*Bang!*

Kei fired his gun, hitting its mark and ending the man's life.

Kei stood there for a moment looking at the body.

*Bang!*

He shot at the body again.

*Bang!*

And again.

*Bang!*

And again.

With the third shot Kei lowered his gun and let out a sigh before giving the body one last look before making his exit.

"If by the devil's miracle that you may comeback from hell, then I promise to send back and make you stay there, permanently, I always keep my promises, but for now."

His eyes glowed coldly under the moon light as he left the office.

"May you forever rot there."

______

Kei drove through the streets of Tokyo in the late of night of night alone with his motorcycle with a large case strapped to his shoulder to a specific location.

He normally shouldn't be alone with his status as the new head of the Michiaki after his 'cleaning up' in the span of 2 months. But since what he was doing was relatively safe, it really wasn't a cause of concern.

The task was simply to go to a convenience store because he saw a post about a new anime magazine detailing about upcoming shows and news released in some convenience stores.

Why does somebody like him want to know about such things exactly? Simple, who doesn't like art and stories?

After a few minutes of driving, he finally arrived at his destination, one of the most well known convenience stores in Tokyo.

Getting off his bike and adjusting the case as well as his suit, he walked through inside and what welcomed him were the standard interior of a store, well, if you exclude the many wary looks directed at him.

Ignoring them, Kei walked through the store and headed straight to magazine and manga section.

As the other people in the store distanced themselves from him, he looked around and found what he was looking for.

A magazine with different characters joined together on the cover.

Picking the magazine up, Kei begins to read it while also keeping awareness of his surroundings.

Few minutes into flipping through the magazine, he found some pretty interesting news. The news being that there would be new seasons and animes being released soon.

Notable ones are the return of Mushoku Tensei, Jujutsu kaisen season 2, Tensura season 3, Bleach TYBW, Isekai quartet the movie, and finally Re: zero season 3.

As Kei continue to flip through and read the news and info, small light of longing flickered in his silver eyes at the animes.

Specifically the isekais.

Shutting the magazine close, Kei placed the magazine back in place as he turns his attention to the snack section.

As soon as he walked there, his phone vibrated, notifying him of a message.

Taking his phone out of his pocket, Kei checked the sender, and sighed.

[Homura]

It was none other than a friend of his, and the message was…

[Homura: Oi, a new game was just released! Wanna play it?]

Contemplating for a moment, before giving his answer.

[Kei: What is the game?]

[Homura: Oh, it is amazing, you would not believe how fun it looks! Believe me when I say, or in this case text, that it will blow pants off!]

[Kei:… Is it related to anime girls with large boobs and skimpy outfits?]

[Homura: …Maybe.]

Kei deadpanned and typed his response.

[Kei: Not interested.]

[Homura: … Did I forget to mention that there is a new animal crossing like game released as well, it features a relaxing fantasy gameplay.]

Now that, was bit more interesting.

[Kei: sure, why not.]

[Homura: Sweet! Don't forget to bring some pie!]

[Kei: No.]

[Homura: Oh come on!]

Turning off his phone, not wanting to hear his whining, Kei made his way towards the food section as some of the customers moved away from him.

Browsing through the options, Kei couldn't help but feel a solemn ping in him.

His eyes wondered to the sweets section, specifically to the Strawberry Daifuki.

The image of small figure with white hair and blue eyes elapsed in front of him.

('Muu~ these are so good!')

('You know you could have asked me to make you some right?')

('I know, but sometimes it just hits different when you know it is untouched!')

('Oh? Are you referring that my cooking is dirty?')

('Wah!? No! I don't mean anything like that! Your cooking is the best!')

A deep feeling was surfacing but Kei quelled it as he got the daifuku.

As Kei continued his browsing for snacks, those feelings keep resurfacing as he looked at certain items.

Cream soda.

('Eh?! Onii-chan, this soda lied! There's no cream!')

Panda shaped chocolate cookie bites.

('Wow! They look so cute! *Chomp*, and tasty!')

Sandwiches.

('Bleh, these sandwiches aren't as good as yours.')

As the memories keep replaying in his mind, he didn't notice that he was holding an assortment of snacks and drinks, when he noticed he admonished himself for losing focus.

Letting out a breath, Kei headed to the counter and placed his items there.

He looked at the cashier shaking nervously and pulled out his wallet.

"How much?"

"U-um, 4-4500 yen." The cashier stuttered out.

Pulling out the exact amount, he put it onto the small tray as the cashier scooped it up and placed it in register before carefully putting his items on a plastic bag and handing it over to him.

Grabbing the bag, he made his way to the exit much to the noticeable relief of the others.

But as he made his a single thought came to his mind.

'I wish you were still here, Luna.'

=====

Something was wrong.

As he left the store, Kei noticed an oddity in his surroundings.

It was quiet, the area was lacking any kind of sound, this immediately sent a sense of foreboding through his body.

He surveyed the area and his widened when he saw nothing but an empty area where it lacked any kind of people.

As cold sweat was beginning to form on his back, Kei turned his attention back to the store behind him.

To his further developing dread, what was supposed to be the convenience store, became nothing more that a dark void that was slowly coming closer.

Kei tried to move, to get out away from this anomaly, but to his shock, he couldn't.

Looking down, Kei found that his lower body was bounded by this black matter.

Cursing at his situation, he reached for the case on his back, but failed as whatever floor or ground that was suppose to be there no longer existed.

And he dropped.

=====

What was happening?

He couldn't see.

He couldn't here.

He couldn't feel.

He couldn't feel anything.

He didn't know how long he was in this state, he didn't know what is going.

Thoughts raced in his mind about his situation couldn't come up with anything at all.

He felt sleepy, he felt confuse for some reason, he felt comfy, he felt safe, and lastly, he felt warm.

He didn't know why or how but whatever is going on, it felt natural, like he wanted to stay like this for a bit longer.

As those thoughts entered his mind, he felt some sort of other warmth, and then he witnessed.

A white and ethereal sphere of light.

Even though he still couldn't feel much he tried to reach towards it, grasp it, embrace it. It felt so familiar and foreign at the same time, but he wanted to hold it close.

The light flickered before appearing to grow further away.

He reached out to it with every intent he had. But that light soon vanished, and soon, his conscious followed.

=====

The feeling of wind and the warmth of a sun brushing his skin cracked his open his eyes with a groan.

Massaging his head he looked in front of him, to his surprise, a bustling medieval fantasy square.

How did he come to this? Simply put that not only humans are roaming around, but also the clothing being worn.

Normally when people find themselves in an unfamiliar location without any knowledge on how or why they are their, they panic.

But Kei was just surprised at this turn of event. But also a bit hopeful. This was it.

'A new start, the beginning of accomplishing our dream.'

But as he was feeling this, something squashed it.

"I've been summoned to a parallel world!?"

A somewhat familiar voice shouted a familiar line.

Kei looked towards the source, and whatever hope he previously had, vanished, was replace by dread.

Because the source was none other than a familiar character with sanpaku eyes wearing a black, white, and orange jumpsuit, carrying a plastic bag.

Natsuki Subaru.

The existence of this character in front of him immediately conveyed to him the world he was in.

Re: Zero

The world of where it makes anyone close to the main character suffer.

Author here.

Surprise to see this? This is a more in depth and thought out start to my original one, just reworked.

And sorry for taking so long to make this, Got a bit busy with college and was having a lot of ideas and had been reworking this a lot as well as having some writers block.

Also thanks for reading this.

Also don't have an update schedule planned, since I am still busy with real life shit. Hope for understanding and give me your thoughts.

Ps. Please give a proper review instead of leaving a one star and not explaining it thoroughly and just putting emojis one word criticism and bad reviews that come from only reading a small part of it.

Ciao!
