Chapter 29: First Exam
The next day the Suna council held a meeting again, but this time, several Jonin from the village were present.
This was considered the official council meeting, as the other one was private and considered secret.
As expected, all the jonin with a genin team in charge were called to say if they considered their team qualified to participate in these Chunin exams.
Only 5 jonin signed up their teams for the exams.
The council approved the participation of all these teams, but between the village leaders and the council members, they already knew that this was just a formality, as the two teams that really mattered to them were the ones that had already been chosen in advance.
The rest of the teams participating were additions of little importance to them.
Suna would have two elite teams participating in the exams, made up only of ninjas at the level of elite Chunin or special Jonin.
Plus five teams with ninjas at the level of an average Chunin and then Rasa's team which was an enigma to everyone.
Two months passed and now Rasa was in Iwagakure along with Custus and Nomad.
"I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place in my entire life" commented Nomad as he walked through the streets of Iwa while looking at the sheer amount of people there.
"I agree with Tomeo, not even the capital of the Wind Country compares to it" nodded Custus.
"I think we had already made it clear that I wouldn't be called by my name" Nomad glared angrily at Custus.
"But Tomoe is such a great name, it would be a shame not to use it" scoffed Custus with a cheeky grin.
"Call me just one more time by my name and I promise your cute ass is going to suffer."
"Oh, how scary you scare me..... Rasa, Tomoe is so scary..."
" Alright, I've had enough, I warned you," said Nomad angrily as he prepared to attack Custus.
"Enough you two, Nomad you know we can't act as we please here, so control yourself, ok?"
"Yes... I know, I know, but that woman is irritating" complained Nomad but he had calmed down by now.
"Rumia!" said Rasa.
"Yes Rasa?" replied Custus playing innocent as she looked at him as if she hadn't done anything.
"Just do me a favor and leave the jokes until we get back Suna" sighed Rasa tiredly.
By now everyone in the team knew the identity of the members, even Captain Canteen had revealed his identity as Kenji, who like Nomad and Custus was a civilian ninja.
Only Rasa was part of a clan on his team, which caught his attention for a while, but he supposed it must have something to do with the Kazekage.
It probably had to do with the Kazekage, it was likely he arranged it that way for a reason.
To keep him away from the other clans or who knows... it could be many things.
After a while, the three arrived at a rather large building where they would take their first exam.
Rasa noticed all sorts of ninjas, there were many ninjas from the 5 great nations, as well as there were a variety of ninjas from other villages such as Grass, Smoke, Waterfall, Rain, Hot Springs, among others.
"Hey, watch where you're walking big guy" was heard saying to a small white-haired ninja with two red stripes in his eyes wearing a white-colored kimono and a net shirt inside.
Rasa recognized him instantly, it was Jiraiya.
'Who would have thought. If Jiraiya is participating in these exams, Tsunade and Orochimaru must also be here' thought Rasa as he started to look for the other two members of the future Sannin team.
"Are you looking to get yourself killed little punk?" said the ninja who seemed to be from the village of Smoke.
"Humph, not even in your wettest dreams would you be able to kill me!" said a shameless Jiraiya proudly, causing the Smoke ninja to become irritated and he along with his team stood intimidatingly in front of a smiling Jiraiya.
"It's not my problem if you want to kill him, but I wouldn't recommend doing it before the exams start, I don't think you want to get kicked out of the exams" suddenly said a young man with very pale skin, black hair, and golden snake eyes.
'And there's Orochimaru' thought Rasa.
The ninjas of the Smoke village looked at Orochimaru for a few moments.
"Tch, you kids better be careful on the exams, who knows what could happen. Let's go guys!" said the ninja that Jiraiya had mocked.
Orochimaru didn't answer them, he just grumbled looking at them with his golden snake eyes narrowed.
But Jiraiya didn't like the threat so he was about to mess with the ninja again.
But before he could say anything, a hand punched his head hard, knocking Jiraiya to the ground.
"Ouch, why was that Tsunade?" complained Jiraiya as he rubbed his head in pain.
'And there's the last member of the group' thought Rasa again looking with amusement at all that had happened.
Tsunade was still very young, Rasa knew that the Sannin team was only 14 years old currently.
Despite that, Tsunade was already quite an attractive woman; fair-skinned, with brown eyes and blonde hair, pulled back in a high ponytail.
'Interesting, looks like she still didn't even grow boobs like in the Canon, she's still very flat' Rasa thought as he saw that young Tsunade's chest still showed no signs of growing, he was quite surprised at how drastic the change should be from no chest at all to what she had in the future.
Tsunade looked at Jiraiya slightly and sighed:
"Jiraiya, brains are a good thing, I hope you can have them too. First of all, we can't make a fuss, remember what the Old Man said, and secondly, stop giving us trouble, don't you see how everyone is looking at us now!" reprimanded Tsunade, pointing at him as most of the ninja in the surroundings began to stare at them.
"I..." Jiraiya also looked embarrassed now, wishing he could find a hole to hide in, the Hokage had been very explicit when he said not to make trouble in these exams.
"You really are an idiot," Orochimaru said lazily.
Jiraiya's face turned red, and he said loudly:
"Shut up you bastard, I'm not going to be bullied by others, I'm not you!!!!"
Instantly another punch went straight to Jiraiya's head.
"Owww..., Hey! and why that?" complained Jiraiya again pouting as he grabbed his head.
" For being an idiot" nodded Tsunade unwilling to admit that she just wanted to hit him again.
While on Orochimaru a slight smile of amusement could be seen at the sight of Jiraiya being beaten.
Rasa on the other hand stopped giving them importance and prepared to take the first exam.
In the first exam nothing changed with Canon, the test was also written.
"The three generations of elders told me nothing about a written test!!!" soon Jiraiya was heard in frustration.
'Damn, that idiot Jiraiya better pass this test or he doesn't know what's waiting for him' Tsunade said to herself knowing that Jiraiya's theory was horrible.
She looked worriedly at Orochimaru who just waved his hands lazily and signaled that he would take care of everything.
Rasa just shook his head, but he knew that in his team Nomad should be going through the same situation, but unlike Jiraiya, Nomad didn't overreact.
Without wasting any time, Rasa looked at the questions and was surprised at how difficult they were, he considered himself someone quite studious and with a great deal of general knowledge, but the questions tested him, they were far from simple.
Even so, he was able to answer most of them with confidence, after doing so, he used his gold dust silently to pass the answers to Nomad and Custus, although Custus also had a good theoretical level, he did not believe that she was at the necessary level to answer these questions.
In addition, to make sure, he created multiple gold dust eyes with which he observed the answers of most of the ninjas and compared them with his own.
One of his eyes noticed something very interesting.
A small, almost undetectable white snake crawled from the seat Orochimaru was into Jiraiya's nod.
'Looks like Orochimaru is helping Jiraiya in this exam, well..., otherwise it should be impossible for Jiraiya to pass the exam unless he knows some method by which he can steal the answers' Rasa thought that Jiraiya at 14 years old should already be able to do that, but it seems that was not the case.
