Kan Plains Battle

Zhao couldn't keep besieging the city with the Qin soldiers behind them unless they were willing to risk being pinned between the city defenders and the Qin army. With no better choice, they decided to follow the Qin army out onto the Kan Plains. They had hoped to secure the city for their own to safely store their supplies and wait for the Qin army, but they had also planned for the event that Qin managed to beat them here before Bayou fell.

The two forces went about setting up their formations out on the plains, the battlefield on the plains was naturally split into three lanes by almost impassable thick sections of forest, rocky terrain, and small steep hills.

Ou Ki had his personally trained men act as Generals for his armies! each man had the strength as the skill of a General.

Ou Ki stationed the 3rd army (10,000) and the 2nd army (20,000) on his right flank, with the 5th army (10,000) in reserve behind the 3rd and 2nd armies. A total of 40,00 men were stationed on the right flank.

Facing them was a Zhao force of 51,000. Made up of "acting general for Man Goku" (11,000 men), General ShouMou (20,000), and General Kouson (20,000).

Ou Ki stationed General Mou Bu as his center! ( Mou Bu in Ryo faction) who commands 20,000. The 1st army with 20,000 is in reserve behind Mou Bu.

Facing General Mou Bu on Zhao's side are 20,000 troops. As of right now, Ou Ki doesn't know who's in command in the enemy center, but the enemy commander has positioned his camp (20,000) far back behind the center.

Ou Ki has also positioned his headquarters (10,000) behind the center, positioned on a hill so he can oversee the battlefield.

Ou Ki is having the 4th army (10,000) on the left flank. (Heki 1,000 men are included). Facing them are 20,000 Zhao soldiers.

100,000 Qin (mostly militia) vs 111,000 Zhao will battle on the Kan Plains.

Zhao test how strong Mou Bu actually is and sends out their Heavy cavalry in the center to meet Mou Bu's charge, Mou Bu's strength doesn't disappoint as he pushes the Zhao cavalry back!

The Qin Militia under Mou Bu's command become emboldened by Mou Bu's display of strength and bravely charge at the enemy alongside Mou Bu!

On the Qin's right flank the Zhao forces charge! as they charge across the field suddenly 300 mounted archers ride out to meet them! the Zhao forces are harassed by mounted archers the whole time during their charge, by the time the Zhao forces reach the Qin, their charge has become disorganized and lost momentum resulting in a weak charge.

Zhao does inflict heavy losses on Qin's first few ranks but is unable to penetrate deep into their formation! Qin militia seeing Zhao's weak charge become emboldened and bravely fight against the Zhao forces.

Ou Ki takes advantage of both the center and right charges to sneak away from his command center (Leaving Tou in command), he observes the center briefly before heading over to the left flank.

While Ou Ki is heading to the left flank, the Zhao center situation changes, in order to stop Mou Bu's charge, they switch to an echelon formation! by forming their lines at an angle they are able to divert Mou Bu momentum slightly and his charge slows. Then they start harassing Mou Bu's men with arrows!

While Mou Bu charge stalls Ou Ki arrives on the left flank, and orders the 4th army to attack! Heki is stunned they are 10,000 vs 20,000, Ou Ki General Kan Ou follows his command and charges the troops into Zhao's forces.

Ou Ki returns to the center and meets with Shin's 100 man unit! he gives them the name Hi Shin Unit and he orders them to go and kill the enemy general Fuuki on the left flank! he's a strategist-type General and Ou Ki wants to kill him early on in the battle before he has a chance to display his skills.

Back on the left battlefield, they are starting to struggle! Zhao has moved up its heavy infantry while the wings move to flank the charging Qin forces to surround them!

Charging into the heavy infantry the Qin forces charge come to a dead stop! they are hit on both flanks and are assaulted by a volley of arrows!

With most of the Zhao forces surrounding the Qin militia, Shin takes the chance to charge into the Zhao forces guarding their commander.

Qin militia is being slaughtered! and soon a few of them notice that their rear is wide open! if they flee that way they'll be able to escape!

Heki attempts to stop the Qin militia from fleeing but can only watch as the escaping men flee the battlefield!

The few fleeing men soon turn into a rout of the whole 4th army! besides 1,500 men under Heki and General! who rally their men and keep charging! with Zhao's forces spread thin thanks to wings moving up to flank them, their center is now thin and they are able to break through and head for the Zhao General!

Zhao seeing that the 4th army is routing and running from the battlefield! order their cavalry to charge and run them down!

Suddenly General Fuuki's men are thrown into chaos as their command camp is assaulted by Shin and Heki's men from two sides! Fuuki is left stunned as he realizes that Ou Ki sacrificed his 4th army in order to ambush him and claim his head!

Not willing to give the attacking Qin forces a chance to accomplish their goal, he takes a few of his men and flees the camp! he rides hard away from the battlefield when the woods in front of him suddenly come alive with many Qin flags! with so many flags in the woods, there must be a massive Qin army in front of him! left stunned he and his men come to a stop!

Uknown to Fuuki, Shin was in hot pursuit and once he stops Shin takes the chance to cut off his head from behind!

The Zhao forces are slaughtering the Qin 4th army! when they notice the many enemy flags by their General camp! it gives the illusion of a giant force having ambushed their general! with no one giving them orders, they soon panic and flee from what they think is a large Qin army.

All forces have noticed the state of the left flank and decided that it's best to pull back their forces to better understand the situation, ending the first day of fighting.
