Chapter 4*

I wake up at dawn, dead tired and aching. I groan and look around, relived that nothing bad happened. I sit up and go to wash up before starting my training. As I eat my beef jerky, I realize that I have a new set of memories about basic spear fighting in my head.

'Nice' I think, as I start to go through them, knowing it'll be easier to train due to fast learner. 'I have to get a way to sense through mana, also to think I activated my elemental skill also, hail of spears, ugh' I wince.

After training for about two hours, I notice it's easier than yesterday, hmm, food for thought. I wake up the merchant and greet him good morning, reminding him we have to go early. He nods and he gets ready while I pack up, feeding the horses and setting them up in the carriage.

We start to move as the sun starts to rise, circulating my ice mana as it's a little warm in the morning. Moving on we fought some slimes and a group of hilichurls, but I made quick work of them using my elemental skill. We got to mondstat in the afternoon, after getting through the guards and the merchant testifying for me. I told them the same story I told the merchant about running away from my family.

Getting inside after the checkup was breathtaking, with all the chatter, I could feel the life through the mana, it was a little overwhelming before being brought back to my senses by a bag of mora being stuffed to my face. After thanking him and separating from him 30k mora richer, I realized I was lost and had nowhere to go.

The game does make it easy, I complain as I ask for directions to the adventurer's guild. Getting there I see Katherine smiles as she greets "Ad Astra Abyssosque, what can I do for you?" "I would like to join the adventurers guild, is there anything I have to do?" I ask. "You just have to fill the details about your identity and if you have a vision/fighting experience or not. This is to know where to allocate you before taking quests" I nod and look at the form.

Filling it up, I give it to her and she looks at it before telling me to wait and going in. a few minutes later and she returns with a card and says "this is the adventurers' card. It can be used as an ID card and it's linked to the owner through mana only. It shows your adventurers rank and also your quests. Loss of the card will need a fine to get a new one." I nod and thank her as I ask for any quests. Telling that there are dailies, I smile and look at the card as she brings up the quests.

I ask her some questions about the rank, and she says some quests, unless otherwise specified, cannot be attempted without reaching the required rank. The rank rating also goes like this;

D-rank: 1-24

C-rank: 25-34

B-rank: 35-44

A-rank: 45-49

S-rank: 50-54

SS-rank: 55-60

After confirming everything I wanted to, I got my daily quests; kill 5 slimes, get 5 chicken, pick 4 dandelions, help find my cat. I felt my eye twitching as I looked at Katherine and she just smiled back as I sighed and accepted the quest. "Good luck!" she smiled, and I would have smiled back if I didn't see the mirth in her eyes as she smiled at me. I just nodded and went to do the quests.

I first got to the gate as I greeted the guards and picked the dandelions at the gate. After that I looked at the bridge and didn't the 'Pigeon God' Timmie, so I just used my elemental skill to kill the pigeons. A waste, I know, but I didn't care.

After that I killed the slimes by the bridge and picked some fish to roast for a quick meal. After eating, I went to the last quest holder. I talked with her for a while before looking for her cat.

I knew it was bad idea as I don't have elemental sight, so I had to look around throughout the full afternoon before finding the cat at Cat's Tail. After talking to the owner and confirming it, I left and returned him to the owner. With that done, I went to the guild to complete the quest and advance to level 3.

I smiled and thanked her before asking for an inn to stay for the night. She directed me to one a few blocks away, and as I got there, it was a serene, quiet place. After booking a room for a month for about 20k mora with two square meals. I ate dinner and lay down on the bed. I remember that I haven't checked my stats for a while. 'Status', I think

'Hmm, I'm already at E-rank, not bad', I think as I smile. According to the system. I get a major breakthrough by reaching the major rank, and due to fast learner, my skills advance much quicker. My mana control evolved to elemental mastery, which is better than I expected.

I can feel light as a result of the agi stat reaching E rank, also my body control, body coordination, reflexes and balance increasing, also it's easier to move my spear around due to increased dexterity. Setting it down, I sit and start to think about what I have to do the rest of the year.

'Hmm, I think it's about 8-9 months before stormterror starts its rampage, also around the time of the windblume festival. So I'll know it's either during the festival, or immediately after. I also have to train a lot, and go to the library to update my knowledge, since the one the old man gave me is over a hundred years old. I'll use this week to familiarize myself with the town and study a lot. I'll also have to look at the favonius training ground so that I can look at their spear/polearm techniques and blend it with mine. I'll also have to change my physical training since it's not working anymore.

I also found out I have increased healing, most likely due to my ffm boosting my regeneration rate, so ill abuse it a lot. I also want to open a store where I'll sell antique pieces and weapons, ill abuse my knowledge pack after cross-checking it with the books in the library. Well I'll just adjust my schedule as I go' I yawn as I close the stat screen and go to sleep.
