Returning after Years

Stepping into my house A wave of memory came to me. The smell of my precious Shuna's lavender perfume wafting through the house as humming radiated from deeper in the house. Scents of honey also mixed with the perfume, a tell-tale sign of Milim's presence in the house. Taking two steps forwards I stopped, gazing down at my dress. There was no sign of dirt or any indication of damage from my time in Raistlin's tower, but I felt utterly bored and disgusted by the same-old garb. Shuna had made it for me, but after several years of wearing it, time being uncertain within the tower, I was done with it.

I frowned at the thought of Raistlin and the message he had given to me before evicting me. It was all very abrupt and sudden, from being willing to teach me to throwing me out just after I had finished learning. My brain was constantly working on what it could be but my powers were far to limited in comparison to his own... I had learned that from the moment he shut off my access to magic in the first week or two I was in the tower.

'I need to stop thinking about things I can't change. Clothes, focus on clothes me...'

A singular step forwards was all it took for me to reach my bedroom. Concepts flexed and then relaxed imperceptibly in the atmosphere around me, apparating physically as flecks of ash and shadow. Searching through my closet I grasped a totally different style of clothes that Shuna had made for me. It was just a comfortable shirt and long-pants, the blouse somewhat open and free. The garb reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean and the the clothes that Jack Sparrow wore, if it were cleaner and more orderly. Naturally I wasn't as dirty or as unclean as the pirate captain but it still looked like a theatrical outfit for a stage play.

Taking my time to adjust the clothes and put them on I sighed in enjoyment, finally being able to just do simple things without spending unending time studying, learning or listening. Raistlin was a wise and powerful god, but his empathy was scarce. Glasses clinked and clacked downstairs as one of my wives was apparently setting up for Master Chef tonight. A huge grin plastered itself to my face, my efforts to stifle it failing. Shifting to the other side of the room I soon began to descend the stairs, my eyes hungrily consuming each photon of light that struck them so I could instantly recognise when I saw my wife.

Step, step, step... The stairs strained slightly under my weight, my steps being translated into sound waves that carried through the air and slipped into the eardrums of the person below. Pink hair and red eyes was what I met, the slender figure of my wife arranging the furniture and glasses around her and in her hand. Our eyes met in a singular moment, a smile radiating out as she gazed at me.

"Silvi, you are home so soon?"

I blinked and chuckled somewhat, the years of loneliness weighing down my soul vanishing with a single sentence from her. Flaring concepts transmitted me next to her before she could react, my arms reaching out and clasping her from behind. Burying my head into the nape of her neck I took several moments to bask in her existence before me. She giggled and twitched a little under my grasp.

"That tickles!"

I moved my arms around her until my hand was touching her stomach. She loved the contact apparently as she fell backwards with her weight, pressing into my body as she relaxed her neck on my right shoulder.

"What has you in this mood?"

"It's been years... I just wanted to be around you."

Her body twitched as she snapped back to her previous position, much to my chagrin. She spun quickly, her eyes looking into mine with an inquisitive glint within them. Her hands reached up around my jawline, caressing my skin before gently holding onto my head and looking deep into my eyes, the portal to the soul as they say.

"Years? How has it been years? I saw you this morning..."

"Mmm. It's been years. Let's just say that I passed out from my bodies incapability to sustain my inefficient magic usage."

She nodded along, some concern draining into her eyes as she continued to listen.

"My eyes give me the ability to see the future. You knew this."

Nodding she inclined her head slightly, practically screaming at me to continue.

"It also grants me access to a space beyond space. Another dimension where Gods and Entities of extreme power reside. One of those beings, a friend, and now a mentor... Well he contained me in the dimension until he agreed that I was competent enough to come back."

"So what seemed to be only a few hours, was in fact years for you..."

I smiled and dropped my lips onto hers, feeling extremely comfortable in the arms of my woman, one of my women. The need to see Milim was still there, despite the fact that she would be away for a few days. Waiting years wasn't enough to make me forget them, another day or two wouldn't make a difference in the long run.

"I have to lecture this man! He is such an old fart!"

Shuna seemed genuinely angry for me, knowing that I had probably suffered being away from her and Milim for such a long time. Her words were cute and the way she puffed her cheeks was too, but in the end I think he also taught me another lesson... I was over reliant on my wives always being around. A healthy relationship needed some space. Shuna should be able to do what she wants and talk to me about all of it whilst also having some social contact other than me. The same went for Milim, although she didn't really give a fuck about 'normalcy', being a Demon Lord and Daughter of God and all it tracked.

"Don't worry sweetie. He sent me back and that is wat counts. With his level of power he could have imprisoned me for centuries or even longer and it still wouldn't have been a second for you in this dimension."

She gulped and begrudgingly nodded, the cogs within her brain slowly trying to figure out the level of power needed to achieve such a feat. Demon Lords could do a lot but they were usually limited by their bodies... I brought her into a hug again and set us down on the couch. We simply stayed like that for an hour, enjoying each other's warmth whilst talking over my time in Raistlin's tower. Many times she was surprised by the things I had been taught, asking even more questions before she realised that It was a painful reminder for me.

Hours slowly faded away as we eventually started watching Star Ship Troopers, Master chef having been sidelined due to Milim's absence. Shuna loved the movie and some of its humorous depictions of military training. Rico was her favourite character as she also came to like the psychic called Jenkins. The whole bug-slaying thing was lost on her but she still found it cool because of the similarities that some of the bugs had with actual monsters in the forest of Jura. By the ending of the first movie she was intrigued by the entire story and wanted to watch more, which we did soon after, going forwards until all of the movies and anime films were watched. Snores slowly escaped from her as she had fallen asleep beside me, laying down.
