"It's called Doomsday, a creation of Kryptonian technology," Stephen explained with a gentle smile. "Currently, kryptonite is the surefire way to kill it, and kryptonite..."
"Is with you!" Lois interrupted. "Why? Why are you involved in this?"

The phone in Lois Lane's hand rang with Carol Ferris on the line. "Lois, it's Carol Ferris. Can you get in touch with Stephen?"
"Hello, Carol, good evening," Stephen replied with a smile.
"Metropolis!, monster!..."
"Guilty," Stephen interrupted, smiling. "Kryptonite can defeat him. Do you want it?"
"What are the conditions?" General Swanwick's voice echoed on the other end.
"Simple. Make Superman wear his underwear outside, and remember, it has to be red," Stephen quipped.

As the call ended, General Swanwick asked with a stern expression, "How's the situation?"
Military fighter jets captured the scene, showing an intense battle between Superman and Doomsday. The fists-flying combat had nearly flattened the surrounding buildings.

Lois Lane couldn't help but ask Stephen when he hung up the phone, "Why are you so insistent on involving Superman?"

"Let me try." Lois reluctantly hung up the phone and noticed Stephen's return.
"Where were you?" Lois asked curiously.
Stephen approached her, hugging her waist. With a chuckle, he said, "Swanwick is playing with fire!"
"Did you hear?" Lois whispered. "I think what he's proposing is too much. Even if he wants Superman to do it, it shouldn't involve others. Stephen, can't you..."
"No," Stephen interrupted.
Is Doomsday formidable? Yes, considering it's a product of Kryptonian technology. It could be annihilated using Kryptonite. Stephen had set the conditions, and since the military intended to follow through, how could he refuse?
However, he hadn't anticipated General Swanwick's resourcefulness. Provoking him over Doomsday was unnecessary; even without him, Stephen would have created it. But now, he devised this extreme method to manipulate Superman. The repercussions promised to be more intriguing than Doomsday's arrival.
Previously, General Zod had sent someone to Superman's adoptive mother to inquire about the whereabouts of the Central Treasure. The military knew Superman's adoptive mother's identity when he rushed to help.
Given Superman's concern for his adoptive mother, she became a chip the military believed they could use to control superman. If General Swanwick truly captured Martha, Superman might be pushed to the brink.
