"I suppose?" Stephen tilted his head and smiled at her.
Her acting skills are impressive, particularly her ability to swiftly transform from a panicked expression to wonder. The pain and fear in her expressions, the shifting eyes, and the relief followed by surprise upon discovering the other party's identity were vividly portrayed. The subtle nuances conveyed a clear sense of hierarchy.
It is an acting skill that could deceive even Batman and others, reaching a near-god-level proficiency.
"I suppose this answer was obviously unexpected," she said, slightly stunned. She continued, "My name is Miranda Tate, an ally of Chief of Police James Gordon and Batgirl. Batgirl wants to ask for your help in dealing with Bane. Haven't you met her yet? Where is she?"
"I've already met her, and she has already left," Stephen replied.
With a chuckle, Stephen approached her and extended his hand to retrieve the dagger.
"Then, did you agree?" she asked, her voice tinged with nervousness.
As he neared her, she couldn't help but shiver, feeling the cold blade of the dagger against her shoulder. Despite the pain and fear evident on her face, she remained motionless. Slowly, the dagger descended along her shoulder, while Stephen's other hand gently rested on her right shoulder.
The shoulder strap instantly slipped off.
"Guess I agreed?" Stephen said, observing her feigned trembling. He suddenly pulled forcefully, tearing and removing her blue dress.
Instinctively, she attempted to cover herself, but upon seeing the dagger so close, she forcibly stopped.
"What are you trying to do?" she asked, trembling.
Stephen glanced around a few times, an interesting thought crossing his mind. What would happen if he took a picture of her and showed it to Bruce Wayne? Would he choose to break up with her or accept her? Stephen stepped back and retrieved his camera from his backpack, capturing a few shots.
Her head bowed in shame, yet her eyes flashed with ferocity and anger.
How dare he do this?
He will pay! He will die!
Satisfied with the photos he had taken, Stephen closed the camera and said to her, "I want a Batmobile."
"Are you trying to blackmail me?" She looked up at Stephen. "That belongs to Batman, and I don't have one."
"Can Miranda Tate or Talia al Ghul acquire the Batmobile for me? If you secure the Batmobile, I will hand over Barbara Gordon to Bane. How does that sound?" Stephen grinned.
She groaned. How does he know her true identity? It's impossible; no one in Gotham should know who she really is!
"Hey, hey, hey," Stephen snapped his fingers in front of her. "Don't dwell on it for too long, okay?"
She also knew about Stephen. After all, James Gordon and Barbara Gordon both held high hopes for him, believing he was Gotham's greatest ally in saving the city. However, this man was undoubtedly not a decent person, and he was difficult to kill or evade. Although she couldn't comprehend how he discovered her true identity, it seemed like he didn't agree with Barbara Gordon's request.
"You didn't agree to cooperate with Batgirl?" she asked, pondering for a moment.
Simultaneously, she tacitly acknowledged her own identity.
Stephen smiled and replied, "Yes, I did promise to help her resolve the issue with Bane."
She burst into laughter, a wild and unfiltered laughter that gradually turned into sarcasm. "They sought your help to save Gotham, but a Batmobile made you betray them. It will be amusing to witness their despair turn into hopelessness. It is their fate, and Gotham's as well."
"They will take action tomorrow. A police officer named John Blake will rescue the officers trapped underground, while James Gordon will lead an attack on City Hall. If you agree, Barbara Gordon will accompany you to confront Bane. I will also join you, claiming to have dismantled the nuclear reactor," she looked at Stephen and added, "In two hours, I will arrange for someone to deliver the Batmobile to a location about two blocks away from your current position. You can find it yourself, but you must delete the photos you just took."
"That won't work. These photos are more intriguing to me than the Batmobile itself. Batman might not care if he loses a Batmobile, but when it involves a picture of his woman, it becomes a different matter," Stephen stated.
She frowned and observed Stephen for a moment before smiling. "Forget it, if you like them, keep them."
He must die.
I will kill him.
Regardless of whether he deletes them or not, I will delete them myself after I kill him.
"Don't know if Bruce Wayne will appreciate them. I am curious to see his reaction when he sees the photo," Stephen smiled and waved his hand. "Now, be gone."
"I also anticipate your reaction before I end your life with my own hands."
As Stephen opened the door and departed, she coldly uttered these words before picking up her clothes. However, she could no longer wear them. She reluctantly found a torn piece of clothing and wrapped it around her chest and lower body. After leaving, the Batmobile was delivered to the designated location, and she returned to meet Barbara and the others.
Two hours later, Stephen discovered the Batmobile and eagerly studied its impressive design and futuristic functions. The ability to drive and fly sounded incredibly badass, and it even had an autopilot feature. Stephen continued studying until nightfall before hiding the Batmobile in an underground location and returning to Harley Quinn's apartment.
