CHAPTER 9: DEMAND FOR AN APOLOGY

Isabella didn't know what to predict,will her day get worse or would it continue to be as it is . Sighting the familiar figure she wasn't expecting to see. Isabella had decided to avoid him when she thought "why was she running?. They don't know each other to begin with and had only met once, neither did she do anything wrong to him

They had only met once when her bicycle was destroyed,even after what happened she didn't destroy his car and now she did wish she broke the class ,that way they would be even. She didn't care how expensive it is ,she had also suffered a loss.

He probably might not recognize her ,not that she cared,there was nothing wrong in speaking up and that was all she did that day .

Isabella tried to focus on why she was there and as they got closer her eyes fell on the snacks that were on her right,she pouted while pondering if she should buy it or not. Maya and carl might need something to eat,she thought . One part of her told her they might have had something and another part told her to hug the regardless and if they didn't eat them it wouldn't waste as they would be consumed later.

She took the snacks and sighted a drink by the side, there was only one left of that type left and she was thirsty,there were plenty more to choose from but she wanted this particular one with the green bottle .

She was about to take it when another hand grabbed it before her and at the same time her fingers also wrapped around it. She turned to see who it was and her eyes slightly rolled at the sight in front of her .

"can you let go please?" Isabella tried to be polite knowing she wasn't polite the first time they met.

Lucas who saw the other hand grab the drink turned to look at her,he said "excuse me?". He stared at the girl in front of him for a while finding her to be familiar before his eyes narrowed

"the drink,I'm taking it"she made her words clear,she didn't feel the need to go around the corners, somewhere when she said that,her voice held a slight rudeness to it which Lucas caught

"you always act like this with strangers,don't you?" Lucas let go of the drink,he tilted his head to the side "you can have it" he said and reached for two of another drink simply ignoring her he was about to walk pass her when Isabella wasn't able to hold her tongue "only strangers who destroy people's things without any form of apology or remorse" she glared at him .

It seemed like there was going to be an argument between them in the supermarket but regardless non of their voices was loud enough to catch people's attention. Lucas stared at the girl,he found her to be disrespectful,his eyes narrowed as he remembered the incident.

By now she should have gotten herself a new bicycle "I payed for it"he simply said remembering he had thrown the money in her face which right now he didn't regret or maybe he would have if she hadn't acted rudely the first time they met or acted rudely now. That day he was not in his right mood and it only increased when he saw the bicycle in way.

He had totally forgotten about the incident until he saw her here today

"that's not how you pay for something maybe if you had apologize I would have let it go" she turned to grab the drink and said "just pretend I didn't say anything to you and we go out separate ways,that shouldn't be so hard to do" Isabella was ready to leave when she heard Lucas say"sorry I wrecked your bicycle".

Lucas knew he shouldn't have thrown the cash in her face since he was the one who destroyed her property,the apology wasn't completely from his heart but he said it anyway, though he still found her disrespectful he wasn't ready to argue with her ,not that he had that kind of time. She wanted an apology and he gave it to her.Lucas continued with his shopping while Isabella who wasn't expecting the words from him stared at his back.

At first she had wanted him to apologize but now it wasn't expected,she didn't know what to say but she rather not. He was a rich brat and that's what she saw in him and his attitude and her impression of him hasn't changed, similarly Lucas's own impression of the girl he had come across hasn't changed either.

He didn't know if it was really her bicycle or she just wanted to get some money in her hands, regardless he didn't care

Both were shopping in the same section in the supermarket but non of them spoke a word to each other, just like how the other people in the big store acted,they acted like complete strangers. They were strangers to begin with except that they had come across each other twice and had had an argument both times

Isabella had taken her time selecting what she wanted, even though she had just selected a few.

She needed to meet Maya and carl when she's done with this long time shopping.

While the rest of the people continued to shop for what they wanted with no one at the cashier,it had ended up with the both Lucas and Isabella in front of the cashier and Isabella wondered if fate couldn't be more considerate of the people she meets in her life.
