Chapter 21: Yorokobe Shounen

'Why is he here?!' Seiya was tapping while looking back and forth between Utaha and Kirei. What the hell was Utaha even thinking to bring Seiya here of all places? I mean who wouldn't panic looking at the bulky priest cooking god knows something sinister at a rundown ramen shop in the middle of nowhere.

"Oi Utaha, are you sure that this is a good place to eat? I am having a bad feeling." Seiya whispered with a shaking tone.

"Fufu, yes, this is the safest place for us two loners. Here no girl would fall for my handsome boyfriend." Utaha chuckled.

"Be serious girl, I am having a bad feeling. I don't think we should be coming here." Seiya whispered. Of course, only he knew the identity of this sadistic priest. Nothing good will come from interacting with Kirei.

"Well, I have come here quite some time but if you are so restless then we could seek other places. I just want to know if my super talented boyfriend could handle super spicy food."

"W-well of course I can. I am a man with multiple talents and mere spicy food can't do shit to me." Seiya said with his chin high but inside he was restless.

Hell, whatever the hell priest was making, just from the scent, Seiya could see angels of death roaming around him.

He knew that Utaha was just testing him and as big a narcissist he is, he even agreed. If not for such ability, he would have run a long time ago with a tail between his legs.

Then the priest finally came with two bows in each hand. And of god! Seiya could swear seeing Shinigami slowly moving its scythe with each step the bows of whatever disaster Kirei was bringing.

"Yorokobe Shonen, Shojo."

Seiya's eye twitched as he heard the Kirei's catchphrase and part of his annoyance was the thing in the bowls. No matter how he sees this, the magma boiling in the bowl couldn't possibly be ramen.

"Yorokobe my ass. We came here for ramen and what the hell is this sinister thing anyway?! Is it even made for human consumption?!" Seiya yelled but the priest remained silent with his dead eyes staring right at Seiya.

Seiya was scared since Kirei would be that one person he wants to mess with so he directed his attention towards his girlfriend who was snickering silently and clearly enjoying her boyfriend's demise.

"Seiya-kun, this is called Extremely Spicy Mapo Tofu. This is the only dish of this store."

Of course, Seiya knew this. He just wanted to confirm if the priest was a sadist and he guessed it correct. The man wants to torture him and watch Seiya suffer.

"If you don't want then you can refuse to eat," Utaha added.

"No way," Seiya said and decided to jump in the volcano. One part of his was also excited to eat the famous Extremely Spicy Mapo Tofu. Though he knew that Kirei's only purpose was to see people suffer.

"Let's do it!" Seiya clapped his hand.

He then picked the spoon, raised it high in the heaven, and thrust it into the lava of mop tofu. He then gathered enough contents of the food on the spoon and took the bite without any hesitation.

And man it was anything but food. The fire literally exploded in his mouth just as his tongue came in contact with the content of the food. Seiya felt like his jaw would drop out of his skull if it remained in his mouth so, with another effort, he swallowed it.

His cheeks were swollen while his eyes were teary red from the spiciness of the tofu. He slowly raised his head and saw a grin on the priest clearly enjoying the pathetic sight of Seiya.

"Hmm? Are you enjoying this, shounen?" Kirei raised his eyebrow.

"You bastard! You are the one who is enjoying it. Isn't that right, you sadist priest?" Seiya gritted his teeth.

"Lmao, shounen."

Seiya took a deep breath and looked at his girlfriend if she was okay and to his surprise, Utaha was calmly eating it without any issue!

"If it's that spicy, you don't have to force yourself?" Utaha asked with genuine concern. Seiya could see that his girlfriend was serious this time and was genuinely concerned for Seiya.

"As I said, I am a man with many talents and strengths. Overcoming this is not an issue!" Seiya said as he saw the holographic window popping up.

Seiya grinned and punched the YES button that went through the screen and hit the table startling both priest and Utaha for a second.

He didn't hesitate to open [Exercise] manual and used to practice this skill.

Surely, after a couple of bites, he upgraded this skill directly to the Expert level. He has to give credit to Kirei for making such spicy food to test his tongue and upgrade his sill.

And then he continued to eat the mopo tofu without any pain. Instead, he could feel the challenge to test the limits of his tongue against all the spices of tofu.

Seiya against took a look at the priest and surely, the infamous grin was gone.

"What's up, Mr. Priest? Upset seeing me not suffering anymore?" Seiya grinned as he happily took another bite.

"Denied. Instead, I am rejoiced to see young ones overcoming challenges." Kirei said with a light smile.

'Yeah, rejoiced my ass. This psychopath is an only good talk with no real emotion except to see others suffer.' Seiya thought and shook his head.

He wanted to curse him but he didn't know when the bulky priest would take out his black keys and starts attacking Seiya.

"I guess it was not all bad. But I am sure I can make better mopo tofu than you. Name's Seiya Kanie by the way." Seiya said and he finished the bowl.

"Very well, I will be looking for that day. I am called Father Kotomine but I am not a priest for the time being so it is Kirei Kotomine without any honorifics."

Both men looked at each other and nodded with a smirk.

Upon disembark, Utaha urged to pay for the meal since she felt a little responsible for bringing Seiya to such place.

"You know boyfriend must pay for a first meal right?" Seiya jokingly asked but he then saw Utaha's drowned expression.

"It is, however, I am responsible for making you go through such length." Utaha smiled awkwardly.

Seiya was a little baffled seeing Utaha showing such concerns for him. Well, after all, she was also a human girl.

"As I said, it's okay. It was kind of a new experience too." Seiya said. If he was the normal person he would have taken it as a normal challenge for his system but he knew who that priest was his concern was the person in question rather than the food.

Besides, he used to prank and tease Utaha all the time so he didn't mind if his girlfriend wants to test his abilities as a prank.

He raised his arm around Utaha's waist and spoke, "As your boyfriend, it is my duty to adventure new stuff."

Utaha blushed and nodded with a warm smile. She felt warmth whenever her narcissist boyfriend shows concern for her. It was also kind of funny that how much Seiya likes her legs but always controls his urges obvious to Utaha.

"Let's go to the manga store. I want to check some materials."

"Wow, I was about to ask the same. Let's goo~!" Utaha smiled brightly and with bursting his arms in her chest, she dragged Seiya away.
