Resignation

After the meeting, Lexi dialled Rose's number. "Hey Rose, I don't know how to say this but due to unforseen circumstances, I need to resign."

She can hear Rose typing on the other end. "I see. I am afraid though that since W Electronics are now with Lu Group of Companies to resignation process has been changed. All executives' resignations will be handled by the President himself."

Lexi is again speechless. So this is the moment that she will get to talk face to face with the great Alexander Lu. "Alright! Thanks for the heads up Rose. I will talk to him on Monday."

"No worries. I have informed his secretary and you will have a spot on his calendar."

And just like that Monday is her possible last day to the company that might have been her key for a better future. But she already gained a lot. No regrets. Though she would surely regret if she will stay in a company knowing that any minute she might bumped in into Mario. Just the thought dreads her. She doesn't know if her fragile heart can take it.

Lexi talked to her mother about her decision. Ellie Min is puzzled why she would give up a very good job but if it means that she can see her daugther again, she is good with it.

Lexi is happy with with decicion. She drafted her resignation letter and played the whole day and week with Carl. She will have a lot of time again with her man. She kisses Carl as he loks at her with grey eyes. Tears falls from her eyes and Carl wipes it off. "I am so sorry baby. Mama is not yet strong enough to just see you every time I look at you. You really look like your father."

"I told you to stop crying. Every time there is an opportunity to stop the tears from falling is an opportunity to be stronger for Carl." Ellie is now preparing their dinner. "Are you really sure in your decision tomorrow?"

"Yes Ma. Carl is the most important right now." Then she touches the nose of her son and theu giggled.

"Alright then. Let's eat since you will be very early tomorrow. I have read that Alexander Lu has a temper. You don't want to be the reason of that temper on your last day."

Alexander on the other hand is full of thoughts. Why will Lexi resign? Is her salary not enough? Is she really thay mad that she will rather resign that to give a good income to her mother? Is it worth it to run away from him? Is she hiding something? One thing is for sure, Lexi can't just run away from this arrangement unlike their engagement. Alexander smiles. She is still engaged to him. She might be forgetting that.
