How many days have passed? I'm not counting the days, but it feels so fast. The morning seemed like it had just arrived, we were still having a great time enjoying the day, and soon the evening had picked us up again.
I glance at my watch. It's 11 pm and I haven't fallen asleep yet, even though we'd been hiking all day to the hill behind the lake and picking apples and oranges. Alexa was exhausted midway, so I carried her on the back, and it was quite tiring.
Since 10 o'clock I've been sitting alone on the porch braiding chair, accompanied by the sounds of frogs and crickets. Alexa said earlier that she wanted to watch TV until she fell asleep.
Is she asleep now?
I get up and go inside to make sure.
