The Appearance of the Popes and Priests

I did not tell them the reason why the imperial family will be in danger, but I gave them a warning to prepare themselves. We do not know what will happen because I changed the events, therefore the future dangers might happen sooner or later. I don’t know what else might happen. Something might appear out of the blue, something or someone might appear due to the changes that I have made or something or someone might make an appearance that never happened in my previous life.

I don’t want them to be worried about what will happen, that’s why I have to make sure that this time, I will succeed and take all of the abilities that the Demosians and Sankorians possess. In this life I don’t want to make another mistake. I want to become strong… no… stronger than before. I will save this world and the people in this world from those hideous Sankorians and Demosians. I don’t know if I will be able to do it, but I know that I will try my best to save this world and the people that I love.

“Your highness… Their majesties announced that all of the chosen candidates shall proceed to the great hall,” the maid that was assigned to me by their majesties, informed me.

“Let’s go,” I said, then I, together with the knights and the maids, walked towards the main hall.

The candidacy was held 2 days ago and I was not mistaken that Ace would choose someone to compete with me. He did not just choose someone or somebody, but he chose the spy from the Sankorian and Demosian.

Since I entered the palace, I rarely seen my father and so do my brothers and mother. I know it has only been 2 days, but I am already longing for their presence.

The palace is different from my home. This place feels like it is isolated due to the atmosphere that I can feel here. There are negative energies that I can feel, aside from the fact that the Demosian-Sankorian spy is inside of the palace right now.

As we walked, we saw the templar people coming our way from our left side, that’s why we stopped, then bowed to them as a greeting and to make them walk in front of us. The person in the middle, which seems to be the pope, stopped in front of me.

“Kindly raise your head, my child,” she said. I raised my head and saw her beautiful brown eyes and light blue hair. She’s gorgeous if I must say.

“Greetings to the descendants of the Gods and Goddesses who are watching over us,” I said.

“May you be blessed with their love and care,” she replied. She held my hands, then smiled sweetly.

“I can feel great divinity inside you… may I ask for your name, my lady?” she said.

“I am Quincy Liu of the Liu Family, the only daughter of Feng Liu, the commander of the 1st squad knights,” I replied.

“You’re headed towards the great hall, am I right?” she asked, and I nodded as an answer.

“Shall we continue walking as we speak? I am on my way there as well,” she suggested, then I agreed.

“Do you know my child that those who are above us, the pope, can communicate to our guardians?” she asked.

“I am aware of that, your holiness,” I replied.

“Oh, please don’t call me that… you may call me Erica,” she said after she chuckled.

“Then I shall call you Lady Erica,” I said, then smiled at her.

“As I was saying… The high priests can communicate with our Gods and Goddesses, which are also known as our guardians but there are only two people who can see and talk to them spiritually… there are only two people who can take their souls into their world and speak to them as long as that person wants and their body will just become unconscious and fall into a deep sleep,” she continued.

“May I ask if those are the saint and the saintess?” I asked her.

“Yes, my dear… they are the only people who can freely enter our guardian’s world… we, who are lower than them can only hear their voices, but we cannot ask them or we cannot have a proper conversation with them,” she replied.

“And just a month ago, the saint heard their voices and they spoke to him… we have received a prophecy that the saintess is born and shall return to the temple when we find her,” she continued.

I know that the person that she’s talking about is me because I was able to speak with them, the guardians.

“Do you have any clue where she is? What’s her occupation or status?” I asked her.

“Unfortunately, we have not received a clue from our guardians… but, they told us that she’s one of the candidates for the empress’ position, therefore, we are here to look for her,” she replied.

“And did you find her? Do you perhaps have an idea of who she is?” I asked.

“I have, but I will discuss it with the other pope that was here as well,” she replied.

“We have arrived, my dear… it was nice speaking with you… I hope to see you again, my lady,” she said before entering the great hall first.

“Do you want me to look for the saintess, your highness?” Crystal asked me.

“No need, Crystal… I know who she is,” I replied.

“Shall I announce your presence?” Geordino asked and I nodded.

“Announcing the presence of her highness! Princess Quincy Liu!” he shouted, then the door opened. We entered the main hall and I saw the templar people from both left and right sides and the two of them, which I suppose were popes because Lady Erica was there, are standing on both sides of the imperial family. When I got to the center, I stopped, then greeted the imperial family.

I looked at Ace, the crowned prince and I can see in his eyes that he was still mad at me for what I did. We may have known each other since childhood, but we also became friends since we were kids. I fell in love with him because of his kindness and how he treats his people equally and how brave he is to serve and protect his people.

“We would like to congratulate the two of you for overcoming the difficulties in arriving here… both of you shall perform your duties as the crowned prince’s fiancé… you will be given different tests before we proceed to determine and announce who shall be betrothed to the crowned prince and serve this empire as the empress… The tests are unknown… we will not give both of you the content of the test and you will not be able to notice that you’re in a test… the result will take a year before announcing the victor… do you have any questions?” his majesty, the emperor informed us.

“There’s none, your majesty,” I replied.

“How about you, Lady Lily?” he asked.

“I, as well, do not have any questions, your majesty,” she replied.

Lady Lily is the spy that I am talking about. She won the candidacy in the past where I did not partake. She’s the empress who led this empire to the ground and killed its people and so does the person that I love.

“If that’s the case, you may now all go back… Lady Quincy, stay for a moment… your father requested to meet you,” his majesty said. But I just met them 2 days ago.

“I understand, your majesty,” I replied.

“Crystal,” I whispered, then she went closer to me.

“Yes, your highness,” she asked.

“Wait for me at the entrance… Guard the door and make sure that no one will eavesdrop or will enter without permission,” I told her.

“I will heed your command,” she replied, then told everyone that was following me to go out. When everyone's gone, only I, the empress, and the emperor are the people inside the main hall.

“What may it be, that your majesties, want to speak with me to use my father’s name as an excuse for us to be alone?” I asked them.

“We may not know the reason, but the accessories that you gave us are giving us a warning whenever we’re near Lady Lily… do you know why is that happening?” his majesty asked.

“I told you, your majesty, that you shall be cautious in the palace after the candidate selection,” I replied.

“You mean that she’s the one who will bring us down?” her majesty, the empress asked me worriedly.

“I’m afraid to say, but you’re right your majesty,” I replied.

“Oh my! We let the enemy in… we have made a grave mistake,” her majesty said.

“Please do not be afraid, your majesty… I already promised that I will protect the imperial family and the people… I will not let anyone die again,” I told them.

“But you must still be careful… The temple confirmed that there’s an oracle that they have received… the saint spoke with our guardians and they are now out there looking for you,” his majesty said.

“Kindly do not reveal anything to them… let them search for the whereabouts of the saintess that they have been longing to find,” I replied.

“We will… Now, go back and do your tasks… do not disclose our discussion to anyone,” his majesty said, then I nodded as an answer and left the room.

“Crystal, let’s go,” I told my knight, then she called for everyone. As we were walking in the garden, I saw Ace standing just a few metres away from me and looking at me fiercely.

I turned to the left so that we would not cross our path, but when we went in a different direction, I saw him move from his position.

“Crystal… I will teleport to my room, take everyone there… if the crown prince asks where did I go, tell him that I was summoned by their majesties,” I whispered to crystal.

“I will, your highness,” she replied, then I teleported to my room.

Nothing good will come out of our conversation. That's why it is better to not meet him, rather than to speak to him.

“Do you think that you will be able to escape?” I heard Ace’s voice from behind. That's why I turned around and saw him.

“Ace,” I muttered.
