Noble Family Selection(Part1)

One month later,

The selection of the noble families was about to begin.

Wei Li and others were sitting around a table. Yang Zhai was also sitting with others. The time Yang Zhai and Si Kim were allowed to cultivate in the Spirit Garden was already over. Their time was reduced even more because of Yang Zhai, as he had been absorbing too much spiritual energy from the Spirit Garden with the help of the Strength Ka.

"You all, the time has come, we can finally become a noble family. After this, we will be able to love even more happily." Uncle Wei was happy and spoke with a smile all over his face.

Happy, huh?: Yang Zhai thought.

In Yang Zhai's previous life, he had helped his aunt and uncle fulfill their dream of becoming a noble family. However, in return, his life changed. He was treated worse than a dog by his aunt and uncle.

"According to what I heard, the selection will start in three days. We have all the conditions to become a noble family, so I don't want any of you to mess up."

Uncle Wei's expression turned serious when he said this. 

The selection which allowed families to become noble was not a competition at all. In fact, it was simply a selection. But the thing was that there were some rules that needed to be followed for a family to become noble.

"Especially you, Yang Zhai. For the previous months, you disappear without telling anyone. I don't want this to happen this time. You must stay here for the next week. After that, you can disappear if you need to. Do you understand me?" Wei Li looked at Yang Zhai and spoke.

Yang Zhai had disappeared two to three times in the past months. Not just that, he would not even tell anyone when he disappeared. This was the reason that Wei Li especially instructed Yang Zhai.

"Okay, uncle Wei, I will make sure to stay in the house for the next week, you don't need to worry at all." Yang Zhai replied without having any objections, which made uncle Wei a little relieved.

After discussing for a little while more, Yang Zhai returned back to his room. He sat down to cultivate again.

After three days,

Around twenty people were standing in a hall. This hall was quite wide. Its floor was made of wood. This hall was so big that even twenty or so people present in the hall could not fill up the emptiness of the hall. 

After a while, a few people walked into the hall. Among them were elder Shu Ti, elder Zihao De, and also elder Wang Yeol. 

They all walked to a counter and sat on the chairs placed there.

"My name is Han Ako. I am the leader of Bai hall. Today, I will be deciding whether you are allowed to become a noble family or not." A woman stood up and spoke.

She had also come with the second elders and the others.

Bai hall was what managed the internal affairs of the Bai clan. There was also Si hall which managed the affairs which were outside of the Bai clan. The selection of the noble families was also decided by several people, including the leader of the Bai hall and the clan leader. But as the clan leader was not here, elder Shu Ti and elder Zihao De came instead.

"There is a rule in the Bai clan that when a family has five cultivators, it can become a noble family, but the conditions must be fulfilled first, and we are here to see those conditions." Han Ako continued,

"First, Gir family."

When Han Ako said this, a group of five people walked forward. This group had four boys and one woman.

"Introduce yourself first." Han Ako looked at the five people and then at a paper before asking.

"I am Aner Gir, the wife of Nai Gir. He passed away a few years before. The four with me are my sons. They have all become cultivators. And including me, we are eligible to become a noble family. I am a rank 3 cultivator. My two sons are also rank 3, and the other two are rank 2." The only woman from the group introduced herself and her sons.

Han Ako nodded and then began to examine all five people. She first checked their cultivations and then their ranks. All of it was as the woman had said, three out of the five were rank 3 and the other two were rank 2.

She then asked all five people separately whether they wanted to become a noble family, or not, and all of them replied positively. After that, Han Ako asked them a few more questions and the reason for their wanting to become a noble family. Thereafter, she asked them about what benefits they could bring to the clan after becoming a noble family.

"Now, to form a pact." After asking the questions, Han Ako made the five sign a paper. This pact was created by a Ka known as the Soz. 

This Ka was a rank 5 Ka and could dominate a person's whole body through a pact. Soz had the ability to put strength into words. After a person signs the paper and drops a blood of theirs onto the paper, the words would travel from the paper into the body of the one who signed. After that, whenever the person does something opposite to what was written on the paper, they would get punished according to the pact. 

"According to this pact, you are promising that you will stay loyal to the clan forever, and will think of the clan's benefits. If you try to betray the clan through your acts, you will die. Also, all five of you will be accepting all of the rules that the clan has and will have in the future."

This was what was written on the paper. After signing this, a family gets chained to the clan. But in return, they will be granted a lot of benefits.

All five cultivators of the group signed the pact and became a noble family.

"Here is an imprint that only belongs to your family, and here is a mark of your family. There are five residences empty in the clan that you can choose from. These residences only belong to noble families and indicate your status. You will be given land outside the clan that is safe and can be used by you. You will also be given a small amount of area within the village. Now, you should go into that room to complete the rest."

Han Ako handed an imprint to the Gir family and a mark. The Mark represented the Gir family, and the imprint represented the authority of the Gir family. Thereafter, the five walked into the room beside the counter to complete the remaining procedures.

"Next, Bhang family."
