Hello, Soapety here with another shitty fan-fic, and I am only going to follow the anime, not the manga lazy to read it, and if something is wrong, please point it out to me. I am not the smartest tool in the shed, or any shed for that matter, and I hope you like it.

Chapter 3

I have finally done it. I got out of Meteor City. I am so happy, and guess what? I am twelve years old, so the plot has just started.

Captain: "All Aboard for the hunter exam," said a man with a red noise and smoking out of a pipe.

Walking in, I was stopped by the same man. He looked at me really hard. I just started back, confused. He laughed and pushed me in. I am so confused. Waking down to where everyone was, I saw Kurapika and Leorio in the room, but I left them alone because the MANA in the air outside of the city was so strong, so I immediately started pulling it into my core. While that is happening, why don't I tell you what I have been up to? Well, I made new equipment, a better mask, and a much better robe, along with gloves that have fire resistance, durability, temperature balance, and self-cleaning.

My core only grew a little bit, but my magic control grew a lot. I could now make blades and such, but I made some spells. The first one cleaned me and left me feeling refreshed, leaving a lavender scent behind on my body, a healing spell. You do not want to know how I made that one, but it involves the rats in Meteor City, and I salute their sacrifices; along with a tracking spell, again, I thank the Rats. They helped quite a bit with making those spells. In my inventory, I have a lot of random stuff like metal trashcans, random pieces of wood, and my "Rune" book that I made in English, but I am so glad I automatically knew this world language without much learning or any at that matter.

Captain: "Next Stop, Whale Island," he yelled, and it broke me out of my meditation. Looking at my core, I see it grow as big as a soccer ball for only being outside for a few hours.

I see Leorio walk outside, so I walk up to him.

Damien: "Hey, sir, could you tell how long I was asleep," I asked him.

Leorio: "How am I supposed to know that, kid? Why are you using that mask? But when we left Meteor City and came here, it was about three days," He said as I ignored him and walked out, leaving him stunned at my rudeness. "hey, get back here," he yelled as I ran out to see our main character of this world.

I have been meditating for three days now, which is scary. I need to check on how to break out of it on my own. Walking up, I get blinded by the sunlight covering my mask eyeholes. They soon adjust, and I see Gon waving to his family. He jumps up and down, smiling brightly. He has such big eyes, and his hair has a really dark green crazy anime logic.

Gon: "How can I help you?" He asked, confused as to why I was so close to him.

Damien: "Ohh, sorry, I just like your fishing rod. How'd you get it," I asked him.

Gon: " Ohh, my Dad left before he left, and he left it for me to catch the Lord of the Lake, a huge fish," he said as we walked to the nose of the ship, looking at the waves of the ocean.

*Kaa Kaa*

Looking at the bird, I know what's next. He rubs/adjusts his nose and smells/sniffs the air, then runs and jumps to the bird's nest, looking forward.

Gon: "There's a storm coming," he said thoughtfully.

Captain: "How do you know," he said, coming down from the helm of the ship.

Gon: "They told me," he said, pointing at the birds.

I am just watching this from the side; I am so happy his presence is so calming. Is this his main character trait?? I am not against it; I wish I were born on Whale Island. I mean, I do not mean to ride Gon's dick or anything, but he is such a great character. I loved HXH. It was so much fun watching it with my dad. Damn, now I am sad. *Sigh* Walking to the bottom of the ship, I decided to ask Kurapika for a book if he had another one.

Gon: "Wait, friend, what is your name," he said, yelling as he climbed back down and walked towards me.

Damien: "What is your name first? You a common courtesy to give your name first, right," I said, smiling.

Gon: "Ohh, my name is Gon. . .Gon Freeces, but I'm your friend," he said smiling.

Shit, what is my name? I never really thought of my name; I just went with Damien, but should I change it? Hmmmm, something extraordinary? I mean, I am a wizard, so Merlin, no, too overused. Harry, nope, no Mark/Scarr, what about Arthur, no no pet dragon. I mean, I loved the name Max soo no fuck, why is this so hard.

Gon: "You okay? Can you not tell me your name?" he said, tilting his head to the side.

Damien: "I never got a name to tell you the truth. I am an Orphan and was never given a name, so give me some time, and I will think of a name," I said, still thinking of a name.

The boat was rocking back and forth, but it did not bother me cause I still had to name myself god. Why was it so hard to pick a name while passively pulling MANA into my core. After a few hours of doing nothing and the boat shaking, I got a name.

Damien: "VERO," I said, coming into a eureka moment.

Vero: "Yes, that is my name, Vero," I said again, making it mine.

Standing up, I see a lot of people on the floor, some vomiting near others, and Gon helping others by giving them some plants. The Captain looks in and views the room, stopping at Kurapika and Leorio for a few seconds along with Gon, but altogether skipping over me as if I am not ever there. Wait, stupid, I have the hidden presence rune on my robe, but he is a Hunter, so he should have caught on to me, no. I am so confused.

(Mini-Skip)

I stood in front of the Captain along with Kurapika, Leorio, and Gon, so maybe I did not look that strong, maybe remarkable.

Captain: "Why do you want to become Hunters," he said, giving everyone a once over.

Leorio: "Why should I tell you anything, old man," he said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Kurapika: "I am sorry, but I can not disclose that," he said, closing his eyes.

Gon: "I am going to become a Hunter to find my dad and find out why he gave me up to be a Hunter," he said thoughtfully, getting strange stares from Leorio and Kurapika.

Vero: "I Want to do it for fun, and I just wanted to get out of Meteor City," I said, surprising Leorio and Kurapika with my presence.

Captain: "Okay, vice tell the Hunter committee we have two more who did not make it," he said, taking a long drag on his pipe.

Leorio: "You can't do that. You're not an examiner," he said, outraged.

Kurapika: "You can't do this," he said upset.

Captain: "Feel like telling now," he said with a smirk.

Leorio: "Fine, I want to be a Hunter because of the money and booze. Let's not forget the ladies," he said, taking an imaginary shot.

Kurapika: "Well, unlike this greedy money grabber, I want to avenge my Clan, the Curta Clan. They were hunted near extinction, but I survived and want to hunt the culprits, the Spider," he said, his eyes barely changing color through his contacts.

Then they start their argument and are now standing face to face in this storm, ready to fight. I mean, if you are around the same age, why ask for him to call you Mr. Whatever? This is cool, but then the skinny guy falls over, and Gon jumps off, catching the skinny guy while Leorio and Kurapika catch him, and the same goes for canon. Sailing in the calm ocean, I get to pull in more MANA as Gon, and they talk about whatever they are talking about.

Gon: "Vero, so how was living in Meteor City," he said, sounding curious.

Vero: "Well, it was shit. I had to kill in order to survive and steal to make some money, but I lived, so it was not that bad," I said, shrugging.

Kurapika: "So I have a question. Why are you so hard to detect," he said, confused.

Vero: "I will have to kill you if I tell you," I said, going back to meditating.

As they changed the subject. After a while, I heard the Captain announce that we made it to the dock. Getting off, I go to the end of the dock and look back at the sea. I look around me and tear up a bit. I am really out of Meteor City. Why does it not feel real?

Gon: "Hey Vero, you are the first friend I have made, so I was wondering if you would accompany me through the exam," he said, smiling and looking nervous.

Vero: "Sure, I have nowhere else to go," I said, smiling back.

Gon: "Great to the big Pine tree on that hill," he said, marching forward as Leorio and Kurapika joined us.
