Chapter 48: Worth It

His eyes were on fire. I knew that he didn’t expect me to resist this much.

‘’It’s better that you unburden yourself, but I’d like to remind you that there is no other way.’’

He didn’t hesitate to remind me that he was more persistent than me. Better than me.

‘’I will tell you a million times more if I need to. I will not be a part of it,’’ I kept shaking my head, to convince myself. Keeping myself strong.

‘’That is one of the misunderstandings. You will never be a part of ‘it’’’.

‘’What do you mean?’’

‘’The life you will be a part of is not different than you imagined when you first met Aiden,’’ he got up and walked to the window.

‘’A life full of love, a beautiful house, some dogs, children, vacations. The life you can get when you love someone and you are loved back.’’

‘’That is not the life I saw tonight,’’ my eyes got teary again. That life was impossible for us. Especially for Aiden.
