A mad universe (DC/MARVEL)

I'm not great at writing summaries, so I'll skip that part and focus on highlighting the key themes instead: The world I've created combines elements from both DC and Marvel, with significant changes to ensure a balanced scale of power. I'm still researching both universes to ensure I do justice to their original concepts. Romance will play a role in the story, but I don't plan on introducing a large cast of female characters. For now, the main relationships are with Kara and possibly Rogue, due to how the draft has unfolded. My primary goal with this story is to attract readers and experiment with different writing styles that I can apply to my main story. This project isn't my top priority, so I won't be publishing daily updates. I'll aim for every other day, but if necessary, I'll adjust to at least two chapters per week. I promise to see the story through to completion, even if I encounter any obstacles.

A ridiculous city. - Part1.

'Cortana' Eduard called out in his mind as he looked out of the school window waiting for his adoptive father, the famous Officer Gordon, to pick him up after school since he wasn't supposed to go home alone.

[Eduard says]

'What happened to the gangs you gathered evidence for?

[After discreetly handing over the evidence to his father, they were arrested, but that won't last more than a month and the drugs and weapons seized have already been diverted].

Eduard remained silent and allowed himself to listen to the city while he waited for his father, this only lasted a few moments, and in just a few moments he gave up in sheer disgust, if there's one thing he could say about this world, or at least this city, it was that it was rotten, completely rotten, he himself has asked himself dozens of times why not just kill everyone, he knows it would be easy, very easy in fact, but he still decided not to do it, in the end, he didn't have the courage to kill so many people since many of the civilians are just as filthy as the criminals in this place. - I need to get out of this city, and fast... - Eduard knew that Batman would probably be "born" this year, but he also knew that that man wouldn't solve anything in this place, and that only unbridled killing would have a chance of fixing it. - If it was just a few people I really wouldn't mind getting my hands dirty, but here... I'd have to kill thousands to make them really cower... - Eduard muttered to himself again and continued to stare at the rainy sky while he waited for his father to come into the room since he realized that he had only just been at the school.

[This is not your responsibility Eduard, your only mission is to live and nothing else.]

Listening to Cortana a small smile formed on the eight-year-old's face; he knew that the shit in this city and in the world had nothing to do with him, and he didn't intend to become a beacon of hope like the future Superman either, but it was still uncomfortable, very uncomfortable, whenever he unwillingly let his vision or hearing go he felt like deleting everything; Eduard remembers how Gotham was described and always thought it was a bit exaggerated, but now he knows that was only the beginning, even if most of the crazies Batman would deal with don't exist yet the city is already much worse than the one represented in the comics, at least the ones in his memory.

- Son, let's go! - Gordon appeared in the doorway wearing his uniform and with obvious trepidation.

- Okay! - Eduard nodded and walked over to his father.

- How was your day?

- Boring as usual. - Eduard replied as he arched his shoulders and kept a small smile on his face.

- Really? I guess that's the price of being a little genius, right? - Gordon asked with a small smile that Eduard reciprocated. Just as Cortana had hinted in the past, his brain had developed in a way that was unbelievable for him, which was to be expected given the speed at which he can move. He just didn't take this into account because the examples of speedsters in DC didn't show this aspect very much, at least he didn't remember Clark or Barry showing a much superior intellect thanks to this, which honestly doesn't make sense to him since he himself must already be one of the smartest beings on earth.

- I guess so. - Eduard replied with the same smile on his face before asking. - And you, Dad? How was your day? - Eduard noticed that his father's smile had frozen and decided to change the subject. - Fighting the idiots in Gotham again? - Eduard saw that his father had really relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief.

- That's right son, just another day dealing with idiots. - Gordon replied, but this time he didn't manage to put a smile on his face.

Eduard just watched his father for a few moments and sighed internally as he let nothing show on his face, something he had become used to over the years. - What about my sister? Is she home yet? - Eduard remembered his sister, three years younger, who had also been adopted by Gordon.

- No, she's in the car waiting for us. - Gordon replied and walked slowly away, knowing that I would follow him as usual; after looking at my father's obviously tired expression, I couldn't help but sigh. 'The man's life is pretty shitty to say the least, commissioner in the worst city in the country, plus more than half the police are corrupt in that shithole, his wife Barbara Eileen Gordon died in this world after their psychopathic son was born, I don't remember how the story was supposed to go, but I'm sure it wasn't supposed to be like this...' Well, Cortana warned me that this world was made up of several fragments so it's not that surprising or relevant really, if it wasn't for that boy being so annoying I wouldn't have even asked Cortana and realized the difference; honestly I can't understand how he can be so annoying, besides I can't believe he's three years older and still acts like a child to fool everyone, and unbelievably it works...' Eduard stopped rambling when he reached the car, especially when a little red-haired girl threw her head hard into his abdomen, forcing him to hold her before she hurt herself.

- How is our little princess today? - Eduard asked with a smile as he held the five-year-old girl as if she weighed nothing.

- I'm fine! Hehe! - Eduard looked at the smiling little girl he had placed in his arms and smiled back at her. - That's great! So I don't have to play with you to cheer you up today, right? - He asked with a teasing smile that soon made the little girl bite him only for him to smile at her in response. - Calm down! You don't have to tear a piece out of me! I'll take care of you, remember? We can play if you like. - Eduard just stroked the little girl's hair and she stopped biting him and turned her face away with a snort.

'I don't remember Barbara's or Batgirl's original personality, not that it matters since this world is real and my existence would change a lot of things I don't need to worry about anything silly like the original personality or anything, just protect my sister and everything will be fine anyway.' Eduard thought as he continued to play with his sister.

'Cortana'

[Yes?]

'How are you? Were you able to find any traces of the people I asked about?'

[Only Diana and Aqua man for now.]

'What about Clark?

[Nothing, there's no one with the name Clark Kent in the country's records, and the family in Smallville that was supposed to adopt him has no children.]

'Shit' Eduard could only sigh after hearing that, knowing what a mess this world was he was sure that some bullshit had happened and that the future Superman was probably dead now. 'I think I need to find a replacement...' I refuse to dress up like him to become the hope of tomorrow...'

- BOOM!!! - Eduard was snapped out of his daze when a grenade was thrown at the car and caused it to flip over. The car slid down an empty street for a few seconds before coming to a stop.

Eduard used one of the few spells he had learned with Cortana's help, telekinesis, so he could protect his father and keep his weapons within reach while protecting his sister with both his body and telekinesis.

- Are you all right?" Gordon shouted as he grabbed his gun and looked around, still disoriented.

- "I think so! - Eduard replied, trying to look a little shaken as he held his sister tightly and even used his power to make a sort of barrier so that he wouldn't be caught by surprise and regret it.

- Waaa!!! - Barbara just started crying as she clung to her brother tighter.

- Take care of your sister for now and don't get out of the car!!! - Commissioner Gordon shouted as he kicked open the door and went out to face those responsible without waiting for an answer.

Eduard didn't even bother to reply, he just continued to calm his sister down without saying anything while his eyes glowed menacingly red, and he did his best to prevent himself from destroying some of the attackers in his rage.

[Congratulations! It seems that even if your energy and the energy of the sun are used to improve your magic and cosmic energy and not just your body permanently, you will still develop faster than most of the Supermen from your memories].

- Mn... - Eduard nodded without giving it much thought and just stayed silent while protecting his sister and father without drawing too much attention to himself. 'Who did this Cortana?' Eduard could listen to the whole city at the moment, but he didn't, it was hard enough to stop his new ability from vaporizing something at the moment, he had no idea what he would do at the moment if he listened to all the shit in this city so he asked Cortana who with his permission could use her senses separately for a few seconds.

[Carmine Falcone]

'I see...' Eduard was silent for a while trying to remember anything related to this attack and couldn't help asking. 'Has my idiot "brother" been kidnapped?'

[Yes.]

'I think this is an opportunity...' Eduard thought and looked worriedly at the little girl in his arms; even if he wanted to stay in Gotham to try and find Zatanna who was supposed to have her mansion on the outskirts from what he remembered of some story that he hoped was official, it was better for him and his family to get out of this place, preferably before Batman became "friends" with his father and dragged his family into his ongoing and unsuccessful crusade against evil. Even if this could disrupt his plans a little and prevent him from training with Zatanna's father, he could still ask her for lessons in the future, just wait for her to start her shows so Cortana can find her.

'Cortana, when my father asks for a transfer, help him to be sent away from this shitty town and that his position doesn't fall too far to discourage him.'

[Yes sir]

-Bang!... Bang! Bang! Bang!... Bang!... - Gunshots rang out causing his sister to cry even harder as she squeezed him tighter, and this only made it more difficult for Eduard who really wanted to take on the role of Batman for the time being and break a few bones.

- It's going to be okay Barbara, I'm here, okay? - Eduard asked in a gentle voice and felt his sister nod.

Several minutes passed with him father just trying to keep the snipers at bay until the vehicles finally arrived and resolved the situation, it was sadly obvious that someone had delayed the arrival of reinforcements as long as possible, but both my father and I just ignored it and answered a few questions before heading to the hospital; all the way Barbara didn't want to leave my side even when our father tried to pick her up, which is understandable, even at the hospital I had to stay in the same room as her and even ignored our father going into despair in the next room when he received a phone call informing him that our older brother had disappeared.

In my other story I had a problem with the final paragraphs so as a precaution I will post this at the end of all the chapters.
