I had lost my precious time with Yuuki. I've got the feeling that she'll most likely return back into the picture. This would be my last night. We'll be in the same room, enjoying the main party at the heart of the venue. So I have to make a good impression. The most important part of my life depends upon this improvement too. I picked the perfect dress out of the rental wardrobe. Renski bought it a few weeks ago, with the hope that it would cheer me up. I'm glad she remembered to bring it along. After a refreshing shower, I towel dried my hair and dressed up for the evening. I stood tall in front of the full length mirror. The white sleeveless number hugs every curve of my body. It's rather plain, but the purple and blue polka dots pattern, gives it a playful touch. Renski made me even more irresistible by doing my hair and makeup. She picked a natural look, which fits perfectly with the dress. A little cherry gloss glazed my lips. Mascara and eyeliner made my eyes pop. When she was done with her masterpiece, I thanked her with a hug. She laughed endearingly. "Night, I've been wondering, if I may ask you a huge favor?" He looked questionable at me. "Sure, but if it has anything to do with you going rogue on me, I don't want to hear it." I guess I should've seen that one coming. I giggled at the thought. "No need to worry. I had the most amazing night, and I don't think that anything could mess it up for me. From today on, I swear to go with the flow and face everything that comes my way in a calm and collectible fashion." He inched closer and embraced me with a warm brotherly hug. "Than I have zero objectives. How can I be of any help?" I clapped my hands together in a begging manner. "Can I please borrow your guitar? I know that there'll be a karaoke bar, but I would very much like to preform something special I've been working on." He waved his hand at me. "Say no more. You're just what we need to spice things up," he told me with a wide smile.

When we entered the venue, the gang were already there. Yuuki looked at me as if I'm the only one in the world. The one at his side noticed and she didn't approve. Who cares? I walked up on the stage and sat down on a bar stool in the centre. Guitar angled on top of my crossed legs. "I'm sorry, everybody. I know that this is Night's evening and that he's supposed to be the center of attention- but I think he just have to wait a little longer." I said mockingly. Everyone howled in bubbles of laughter. "I'd like to share a song with you which I've finished recently." I started playing the tune. "I dedicate this one to the kitty cat who'd stolen my heart when I've least expected it. This is my token of appreciation. Thanks for showing me what love is. Whatever you choose to do, let me be your Nyanmaru?" I noticed a slight blush upon his complexion. I gave him a little assuring smile, secretly telling him that I'll be okay if he chooses otherwise. I gave another few strokes before my voice filled the evening air.

Just as I gave the last stroke to the guitar, I was rewarded by a massive applause and a full house standing ovation. I put the instrument down and made my way towards the main table. All of the codes shared it with my brother and his wife. Baby Pearl fast asleep in her cradle. Of course Night left the remaining chair open right beside Yuuki. To my surprise he took my hand in his and gave it a firm little squeeze. My insides threw an awkward party. Rolling, tumbling, free falling.

After quite a festive celebration, Yuuki took the stage. Its the matter of truth. "I'm sorry for taking this method to do this. Everybody Whose familiar with me, knows that I always kept to the rules and that I've never entered temptation. I've been playing pretend for far too long and it's about time to climb out of my shell. I'm sorry Violette but I love another more and I'm completely sure that if today was put in reverse you wouldn't have done anything in your power to protect your rival. My affection for you isn't nearly as strong. Red could you kindly join me on stage this evening?" He ended his confession. Can this really be happening? Did he really just choose me over her? He loves me too! Have I understood him correctly? Nonetheless I stood up and joined him on stage. I guess I have a little luck on my side after all. I met Violette's gaze. She seems to be beyond angry but heartbroken too. I faced him. I want to thank him so badly for choosing me. I really wasn't expecting it. I really thought that he was going to choose her, instead. How wrong I have been. I should've given myself a little more credit. "I love you, Scarlett. I had always loved you. I can't promise you a forever, but we can start with a now. For 'Nyanmaru's' sake I'll love and protect you for as long as I possibly can." He pulled me in closer and kissed me in front of the crowd. A loud commotion erupted around us.

Who could have ever thought that something like demonic beasts would bring us together? Or had my happily ever after just laid hidden within the shadows of a lunar eclipse...
