Chapter 7- Congratulations to all!
The next morning, the girls went on with their normal lives, keeping to the rules they agreed on. Karina came out of her room a bit later than Laura. Aria had left for her interview for the job at the movie theaters earlier that morning.
Karina: "Laura!!" Laura jumped out of her seat, alarmed by the loud yell.
Laura: "What?! What is so important that you had to yell that loud for litterally Germany to hear you?!"
Karina: "I just got a call from the manager and I got accepted!!" Laura ran and hugged Karina and they were both jumping around excitedly and yelled happily.
Laura: "Yay! Congratulations!"
Karina: "Thank you!" Just then, Aria txed the girls saying she was on her way home. Laura txed her "Guess what Aria?!" Karina txed "I got hired!" A few moments later and no word from Aria.
Laura: "Huh? That's weird, she still hasn't texted back."
Then Karina got a call from Aria. When she picked up the call...Aria: "Congratulations Karina!!! I'm so happy for you!" Yelled Aria. Laura and Karina were shook and covered their ears.
Laura: "Seriously, what is it with you guys?! Even NCT can hear you guys all the way from Korea!!"
Aria: "Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I was squealing!"
Karina: "Aww, that's cute. Thank you!" A few minutes later Aria walked through the door. The girls did a group hug and congratulated Karina.
Laura: "When do you start?"
Karina: "This Thursday, so in two days!" Aria: "The sooner the better!"
"Yup!"
Aria: "Did you guys all eat?" They replied. "Then, should we practice?" They all agreed. They focused on attack this time since they worked on defense last time. Each of the girls improved and came up with different power strategies. It was honestly really cool. They started at 8:16 AM and ended at 12:00 PM.
Laura: "Good job everyone, tomorrow lets work even harder."
Aria: "I'm so hungry. As always."
Karina: "You guys want some IN N OUT?" Everyone: "Yes!!" So they got ready. Laura changed her hair color again to a bright blue. She put on her makeup which was blue grayish eyeshadow and light pink lipstick. Then changed into black vans with a black crop top and finished it off with a black leather jacket. She also left her hair down.
Karina wore mascara and rose color lipstick with a violet long sleeves top, sky blue skirt, and topped it off with the brightest yellow sun sandals. She braided her hair to the side.
Lastly, Aria didn't put on any makeup(Aria doesn't wear makeup) and put her hair into a high neat ponytail with natural curled tips. Aria wore white pearl sandals with blue skinny jeans and a pink white flower pattern, shirt that exposed part of her shoulders. They all left and decided to eat inside the fast food place.
Aria: "I'm starving, I hope they bring the food soon."
Laura: "Aria, you're always hungry." They all bursted out in laughter.
Laura: "Karina did you seriously bring a book with you?!"
Karina: "Of course." Karina said as she referred to the book in her hand.
Aria: "Wait, are you reading Heartless?!" Karina: "Yes! You know it?!"
Aria: "I'm also reading it too." Aria said as she pulled out a big book from her purse. It had a black and white design on the front cover with the title, HEARTLESS, in red.
Karina: "What chapter?"
Aria: "I'm on chapter 8."
Karina: "I'm on chapter 9."
Laura: "Oh my gosh, you've got to be kidding me." Laura said as she just sat there unamused.
Laura: "You guys are huge nerds."
Karina and Aria at the same time: "Nerds that YOU love." Laura gave them a death stare.
Laura: "Don't make me kill you guys. I will literally rip those books from your hands and destroy them." But the girls just laughed. Just then, familiar figures walked through the door. Daehyun, Jax, and Matthew came in and saw the girls and waved to them as they walked over to them.
Daehyun: "Hey guys!"
Aria: "Hey, how are you guys?" Aria asked as she and Daehyun did the handshake they made up last time.
Daehyun: "Great. You?"
Aria: "We're good." Everyone exchanged smiles and waves.
Karina: "Would you guys like to join us?" Jax: "Really? You guys don't mind?" Karina: "Not at all, come sit." The boys sat on the opposite side of the girls.
Matthew: "So what have you girls been up to?" Aria, Karina, and Laura all looked at each other, unsure how to answer due to everything thats happened.
Laura: "Nothing much," Laura simply answered, "you?"
Matthew: "Same as you." The employee then called for number 135.
Laura: "Oh, that's us. I'll be back." Daehyun: "I'll help." He said as he got up. The two walked over to the counter and picked up the food.
Daehyun: "Do you have some free time after this?" Daehyun said while putting the spread sauce on the tray.
Laura: "I think so. Why?"
Daehyun: "I was just wondering if you want to hang out?" Laura looked a bit surprised and almost couldn't speak. She only managed to get two words out. "Yeah, s-sure."
Daehyun: "Cool, we'll go after everyone is done eating." He took the tray to the table they say at and came back to order for the boys. Laura, still fazed, started walking back to the table. (Laura's thinking) Why? Why does he want to hang out and what will we even do? I'm so confused right now, but I can't say that I'm not happy.
--Laura gave a sly smile as she sat down. Aria noticed Laura's expression.
Aria: "You okay? Did something happen?" Aria asked.
Laura: "I'm fine. But, I guess I'll be hanging out with Daehyun later." Aria didn't say anything and blankly pulled out her phone. Laura got a text from Aria. Aria texted,
Aria: REALLY?!! THAT'S AWESOME, OOOOH LAURA GOT A BOYFRIEND😄👍
Laura: *Scoff You're really peculiar. You couldn't have just whispered😂You're so weird and he's not my boyfriend!😡
Aria: That's cool, but it still doesn't change the fact that you and him are hanging out.😏😉 You guys are going to be fine, but don't blow it👌
Aria put away her phone and winked at Laura. Laura rolled her eyes and mouthed to Aria "You're so Extra". Everyone ate their food and talked. Halloween came up as one of the subjects.
Matthew: "Oh that's right, it's October 4th today. Is anyone dressing up for Halloween?" "Not sure." Everyone mostly said.
Daehyun: "Hey, we should go to one of those haunted houses."
Aria: "Uh excuse me? I will literally die if I go. I'm too scared."
Karina: "Same here, I'm not going."
Laura: "Oh come on guys. It's not a bad idea, plus we're grownups. I'm sure it's not that scary, come on, it'll be fun!" Everyone nodded their heads trying to convince the girls.
Aria: "Sorry, nothing will change our minds."
Karina: "So lets just go hom-"
Laura: "I'LL BUY YOU GUYS BTS ALBUMS IF YOU GO!" Laura blurted out. Karina and Aria stared at Laura with their mouth open. Aria and Karina at the same time: "DEAL!!"
Jax: "Great! Tomorrow lets meet up there at 7:30 PM."
Aria: "Wait 7:30?! But its really late and dark then! I have a rule that I can't watch or read anything horror related after 6:00. That includes this."
Jax: "Seriously?! Its hardly 'late' and its still pretty light outside. And you agreed to go so you have to." Aria shook her head unsure.
Aria: "6:00"
Jax: "6:30"
Aria: "6:15"
Jax: "We either go at 7:30 or I'll push it to 9:00."
Aria: "Ugh, you're so cruel! Fine...7:15."
Jax: "You really wanna go?" Jax gave her the death stare.
Aria stuck out her tongue at him.
Aria: "Alright, 7:30 PM."
Jax sighed satisfied.
Jax: "And that's how you win that." But they just laughed. They finished eating and parted ways but Laura and Daehyun left together. They walked out and just started walking forward.
Laura: "So, where are we going?" Daehyun: "I don't know, where do you want to go?"
Laura: "Um, I don't know."
Daehyun: "Hmm, I know where! Come on, lets go."
Laura checked her phone it was 7:28 PM now.
Laura: "I don't mean to be rude, but why did you want to hang out?"
Daehyun just shrugged.
Daehyun: "I just felt bored and you're someone who's always fun to hang out with. Even if we're just having a conversation, I never get bored when I'm with you."
Hearing this, Laura blushed and tried to cover her face.
They've been walking for some while, then finally Daehyun said they're here. Laura looked around, it was a hill with lots of trees and space of grass. No one was there but them. Laura noticed the sun was almost setting. Daehyun sat down and patted the floor next to him for her to sit.
Laura: "Where are we?"
Daehyun breathed in some fresh air before answering.
Daehyun: "Somewhere I like to go when I want to get away from my problems."
Laura: "Do you have a problem?"
Daehyun: "Not right now, I just wanted to come." Daehyun said still looking off into the distance, watching the golden-redish sun float in the sky. It was now almost touching the mountains and water, almost fully drowning.
Laura: "I've never watched the sunset before."
Daehyun finally looked at Laura.
Daehyun: "You'll enjoy it, it's really amazing."
Laura nodded. Laura: "We were going to watch the sunset when I was a child. Me and my family. But I got into a argument with my mother and then my father got angry at my mom so we ended up not going."
Jax: "I'm sorry."
Laura: "What for?"
Jax: "Just...Sorry."
Laura gave a smile.
Laura: "Thanks, but there's no need to be sorry."
Daehyun: "Where's your parents now?"
Laura: "They live in New York now, I moved to California once I graduated, because I didn't...I didn't want to see them anymore. We had so many arguments and that's not how I wanted to live. Although, when I came here, It got really lonely."
Daehyun showed empathy and looked down at the ground with a gloomy expression.
Laura: "But don't worry! I'm fine now, I have the girls and I'm glad I met them. They're my best friends in the whole world. So don't worry about me, I'm good."
Laura smiled and reassured Daehyun. He smiled again and felt relieved.
Daehyun looked forward.
Daehyun: "Oh! Here it is!"
Laura quickly looked to the front. She saw the sun get swallowed and bring the blue-purple dark sky. They sat there taking in everything.
Laura: "I like this feeling, no worries just relaxing while watching something so rarely gorgeous."
Daehyun: "Yeah, I just want time to stop and be like this all the time. Er...Sorry, I'm being too cheesy right now."
Laura: "Yeah I know, stop it." Laura teased Daehyun.
