Chapter 28: Twist Of Events

Mother Song pulled out her cellphone from her clutch bag and typed a few things into it, before showing them a particular video.

When Soo Min and Ryan leaned in closer to watch the video that was being played in front of them, their eyes widened in disbelief. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect to see this.

"Do you two recognize this?" Mother Song asked with a sly smile.

Recognize? Of course they would recognize it. After all, the video was about them discussing their plan on how they would get their parents to cancel the engagement themselves.

Everything made so much more sense now! This was the reason why their parents were not affected by their behavior and acting so strangely.

There was only one question that was left unanswered in their mind. How did they get that video? More importantly who gave them that video?!

Because as far as the two of them remembered, there was not anyone else at that park as it was quite late. It was only Soo Min, Ryan and... Assistant Yoon!

The two of them immediately turned to look at the unfaithful assistant who was standing there in the corner of the living room.

Assistant Yoon immediately gulped when he saw Ryan and Soo Min sending daggers his way. The current situation would be the perfect example of the phrase 'if eyes could kill'

"Mother. You sent my own assistant to spy on me?!" Ryan questioned his mother, outraged by her actions.

"Who? Me?" Mother Song asked feigning her innocence, as if she was completely unaware of what her son was talking about.

"DAD?!" Soo Min asked in a threatening tone while she glared at dad, with her arms crossed waiting for an answer.

"Did you really think that we would just believe that the two of you will not try to sabotage your own engagement?! Of course not, which is exactly why we asked Assistant Yoon to spy on the two of you and report everything back to us." Father Park informed.

When Jason explained the entire situation to Soo Min and Ryan, they both felt so dumb. All this time, they thought that they were the ones who were doing the deceiving but in reality their parents played them.

Turning towards his assistant, Ryan said, "Assistant Yoon. You are fired!"

"B—But Young Master." Assistant Yoon had long seen this coming, but he was really helpless in that situation. How could he say no to his Madam? He was really caught in a sticky situation.

"Ah no he is not. Yoon, you do not have to worry. As long as I'm here, no one can dare to fire you!" Mother Song defended Assistant Yoon.

The Next Day.

At Glamour.

"Miss Park. This way please." Assistant Yoon said as soon as he stood before Soo Min with his hands gesturing for her to walk towards the elevator.

Soo Min nodded before the two of them walked inside the elevator, where a guard was posted who greeted the two of them and pressed for their floor.

Although, Ryan did not exactly inform her to why he had called her to his company, Soo Min already knew it was related to last night's event.

DING

The elevator door finally opened for Soo Min and Assistant Yoon to alight.

Soon, they stopped at a particular room, which Soo Min assumed to be the CEO's office, as it was way bigger than all the other rooms they came across on their way.

'Looks like the word privacy doesn't exist in his dictionary.' Soo Min mused when she saw the transparent glass doors and glass walls.

Assistant Yoon opened the door and let Soo Min enter.

"Young Master. Miss Park is here." Assistant Yoon informed.

Soo Min looked around and was awestruck when she saw the exquisite skyline view from the floor to ceiling windows in his office.

'Being able to see such a beautiful view everyday must be such a blessing.' Soo Min mused and tried to hide her amazement as much as possible.

"Mm. Yoon you can leave." Ryan nonchalantly stated.

Assistant Yoon felt dejected and knew that he did deserve it, but still wondered how long his Young Master would stay crossed with him.

"So. What do you want to talk about?" Soo Min asked whilst folding her arms.

"I know my mother very well, but despite what she said yesterday, we still have a chance to call this engagement off." Ryan began to explain.

Soo Min drew her brows together, in confusion and asked, "How so? I mean they clearly caught us red handed yesterday."

Ryan clasped his hands together and said, "As long as the media is not involved, this engagement is still unofficial, so therefore we still have a chance."

"Okay, but then how do you we call this engagement off? Or did you have something in mind?" Soo Min raised an eyebrow.

But instead of a response, she watched the corner of his lips curl upwards.

Several minutes later.

At a Basement Parking Lot.

Soo Min walked towards her car, and decided to grab lunch as it was already noon.

Just as she was about to sit inside her car, her phone rang.

In a hurry, she did not see the caller ID and just picked it up.

"Hel—"

"Park Soo Min! How dare you not tell me about your engagement?!" Olivia bellowed from the other side. Due to how loud she was, Soo Min had to turn her phone away from herself to avoid it.

But as soon as her friend's words registered into her mind, her eyes rounded in shock and she yelled, "WHAT?!"
