3 Chapter 3

I totally didnt scream like a little girl and collapse onto the fast-moving elevator as it took me up to the ground level. Not at all...

Either way I made my own off the stone elevator that shall not be discussed ever again to make my way up the candle lit pathway to the exit of this tomb.

For a moment as I painfully attempted to lift up the large stone door, I honestly thought I was physically too weak to actually start this adventure but apparently even if the candles can eternally burn to bring within the tomb, the mechanism controlling the door had corroded and I was finally able to life it just high enough for me to successfully roll underneath it like a garage door that wouldn't open all the way.

"Well, that was certainly entertaining..." A male voice spoke out as I rolled onto my feet and took in the beautiful vista that laid bare after exiting the tomb.

I could see the massive golden glowing Erdtree in the distance proudly shrouding the heavens in its light and in the distance, I could see Godrick's castle as well.

"Yes... I am sure watching a man attempting to leave an old crypt, must have been just fascinating..." I groused seeing the figure clothed in almost completely white robes and wearing an odd mask at the edge of the cliff.

But more importantly I saw a weird glowing light beside him, almost like a floating golden ember and I realized what it was.

No... It was more important to realize that with seeing the Site Of Grace proves that in fact, I was just another 'Lowly Tarnished' to participate in the rat race that was to become Eldin Lord.

I shook my head of my errant thoughts and walked closer to the Varre the man that was almost assuredly going to meme on me.

"Sooo I just woke up in that crypt and can see weird glowing things any advice?" I asked leadingly in order for me to get some information about where I was and an excuse to use some foreknowledge.

"Ah yes you are certainly a Tarnished... My name is Varre and you good sir came to the Lands Between in order to become the Eldin Lord?" Seeing my face clearly about to deny it he waved his gloved hands as he spoke airily. "Bah of course you have, and there is no shame in either. However, you seem to be Maiden less..."

I couldn't help but twitch hearing his mocking words and I knew he was grinning maliciously under his mask as unbeknownst to him I was supposed to be the Tarnished that Maiden he killed on that island where I woke up on was supposed to serve.

"Without a Maiden's guidance to channel the runes that empower all the living beings of this world, you will simply be a humble mortal with no power at all or even an invitation to the Roundtable Hold, a place for Tarnish to congregate and strengthen themselves further." Varre spoke softly before shrugging as he blandly stated. "You are almost certainly destined to die within obscurity."

I however did not collapse mentally at his words as I had a feeling Melina was likely to be awaiting me at the castle gates just as she normally would because I didnt fall off the island when the ground collapsed no I was knocked unconscious by some falling debris and I was both moved and had my clothes changed by her.

Oh, I had my plans to tease her for that though...

Varre went onto explain a couple more things like how the light drifting away from the site of grace led to Godrick's castle and to attempt to accomplish anything as a Tarnished was an endeavor in futility.

But all his nonsense just firmly set my mind that as soon as I went to the Land of the Giants, I was going to kill him and impersonate one of Malenia's guards and run in saying how I found out that the Omen Mohg stole away her precious brother Miquella and was doing terrible things to him.

I don't know which would piss the greatest Brocon in gaming history more, the fact that Mohg stole away her brother or that he was attempting to turn him into a woman with some weird blood magic after stuffing him a blood cocoon.

But I couldn't necessary blame Mohg for his actions as Miquella had the innate ability to force people to deeply love him which is why his sister practically worshipped him.

Either way I wouldn't have to deal with Malenia and her bullshit if I can have her focused on healing her brother for years on end should I manage to become Eldin Lord.

Varre after only receiving single word responses and grunts to his taunting just huffed and vanished into mist as I sat down next to the Site of Grace.

"Alright so how do you work..." I muttered staring its the softly swaying golden light.

"Welp when in doubt poke it with a pinky." I said shrugging and did what every ignorant human did when we find something new.

We poke it with our fingers, or a stick if available.

As I poked the glowing light my vision was greeted with a ray of golden light and my body was healed of all the bruises and sores, I had already put in the back of my mind but the sheer comfort the light brought as it seemingly healed my body to it's perfect state only exacerbated the little imperfections in my body that were seemingly wiped away.

I stood up from the Site of Grace and feeling my improved body I noticed not only was my sight better, but I seemingly could think far clearer as well.

My body felt much more reactive as though my old nerves were a phone line and now I was using fiber optic cable and I couldn't help but roll forward and miraculously in one smooth motion I went from the diving roll to standing on my feet rather than rolling on my back to land in a sitting position like most people who attempt to roll across the ground.

"So, this is how I kill gods..." I snickered but kept in mind that even as I rolled, I wasn't truly invincible doing that motion.

"Whelp time to go meet Waifu number one of two..." I mused as I carefully slid down the large hill and went towards the abandoned church while circling far to the left in order to avoid the damn Erdtree knight.
