Chapter 4: Promise

I am now sitting next to Eurylice. I didn't expect that we would meet here on Mount Olive. There are so many places but fate really wants us to meet here.

"Why are you here anyway?"

"This is my safe haven."

"What? Are you kidding me?"

She looked at me. She frowned and raised her eyebrows. She is really beautiful. Almost everything is perfect. I keep getting distracted.

"I'm not! When I have something to think about and just want to relax, I came here with my flute."

"What if someone else is here and catches you?"

"They won't catch me. When I know someone else is there, I leave. It's not always that someone comes to this place."

"Why me? You didn't leave?"

"My power told me that I should not leave."

"You can talk to your Holy Power?"

She nodded. "Yeah, we talk everyday."

I was surprised by what she said. What is wrong with this girl? "That's rare. With me, I can't talk, but with you, you can."

Her eyes widened. "What? Really?"

"Yeah! You're the first person I've met who can communicate with her power. Even my parent's, they can't. That's why you're so strange."

She just smiled. "weird? How many times have I heard that." She sighed. "Maybe, I'm weird."

I stared at her. She's interesting. I need to know the identity of this woman.

"When does your mission start?"

she asked

"Tomorrow."

"Is that so! You should just rest to condition your body for the tests.”

I tried to smile at her because I didn't want to leave her here alone. "Don't worry. I won't be here for long either."

She nodded. "Alright. I have to leave because it's late at night. They are looking for me."

She stood up. I also stood up. She bowed and smiled. "Nice to meet you, Your Highness!"

I swallowed. "Likewise."

"Alright, I'm leaving. Be careful. Good luck.”

“Thank you. You too, be careful!”

“Wait, Eurylice!”

She turned to me. "Will I ever see you again?"

She looked confused. But later on, she smiled. "Of course. I just don't know how but I believe we will meet again."

"Thank you." She nodded.

She waved before leaving until she was out of my sight.

"She's pretty and I could say, she's the same as Khalie. Are they the same? Are they really the same?” This is what bothers me when I wake up the next morning. I'm thinking about what's happening. Is it possible that Eurylice and Khalie are one and are the same?

“Good morning, Your Highness?”

"Good morning!"

"Breakfast, Your Highness."

I nodded and went to the table to have breakfast.

"Your Highness, Mr. Rolando said that when you finished eating, go straight to the garden, to the one with the lotus because that is where your first test will be held."

"Okay thanks!"

He nodded then left.

This is the beginning of my mission. What does the lotus flower have to do with my first mission? As far as I know there are three tests that I will undergo and overcome in order to be installed as king. So I have to pass it all for my family and for the kingdom.

"Dad, what if I failed the test?"

"The elders will choose who will be my next king. I don't want to choose them because I know their choice will not be fair, especially those who are greedy for power. A promise to protect my people, my kingdom at all costs. And a promise of love and peace reign forever in my kingdom. That's my pledge of commitment.

I accepted it. It is surprising that someone gave me a letter.

"I don't know, Your Highness!"

I nodded. "Alright, I'll take care of it. Go back to what you're doing."

Who will send me a letter? I opened it and read it.

I smiled. This girl is amazing. Sure, I'm willing. I already miss you. Shit. What am I saying? Did I fall for this girl? How about Khalie?

I shook my head. I must focus on my mission first. I must win this first before I think about my love. Love! It's nice to hear. I no longer smile alone. I think it will drive me crazy. Eurylice, Khalie, why do you have such an effect on me? Is it possible that you are one?

I promise after my mission, I need to know who you are Eurylice? Khalie as well, I need to know where she is? I need to know what their identity is.
