A Loner Inside The Novel

A boy. Broken after all he has been through. His life has become as miserable as it can ever be. His only wish is to disappear from this world. There is nothing left that can bind him to this world anymore. Not his family, friends or anyone else. Nonetheless, his hollow eyes hold a tiny bit of hope, a little expectancy from this life... Or rather from the death. A new person; A free-spirited person; A loner inside a novel who promises himself not to form any bonds with others. He thought of relationships as nausea, which would eventually restrict his freedom again, crushing the-already-broken state of him completely. At least, that's what he thought... ======================================== Hello everyone! This is my first novel. So, your feedbacks are really precious to me. An Extra Chance (1)

What greeted me after I opened my eyes with great difficulty was boundless pitch-black void. I look around with a confused look in search of light. But it was in vain, I saw nothing but insatiable darkness.

I fell in utter terror as I inspected my body. My body was nowhere to be found! It took quite a time to organize my scattered thoughts. However, where was I exactly? I tried to recall my memories. But this attempt only made me realize I couldn't recall that the majority of my memories.

Before I could analyze my situation further, an abrupt and intense pain struck my mind. I tried to grab my head with my hands out of reflex but it only made it more despairing since I didn't have either of them right now. My memories started flooding back into my mind. The pain intensified more and more with each passing seconds. The unbearable pain had already caused my thinking process to collapse.

I opened my mouth and screamed out my lungs. But my voice didn't reach to anyone. It just collided with the nothingness around me and was devoured by it. After what felt like an eternity, the pain vanished abruptly and my unconsciousness once again faded away.

I slowly opened my eyes. As soon as I realized I was out of that void which wanted to eat away my life force, I sighed with relief. Now, what met my gaze was an unfamiliar ceiling. It seemed like I was on a bed. I looked around and saw that I was in a room, about the same size of a room in a cheap hotel. I steadily rose up from the bed, yet as soon as I got on my feet, I felt a throbbing headache. Thus falling back to the bed.

It didn't hurt like the last time I was in that void. But it was still a little painful. After a while I stood up again, but strangely, I was having a really hard time using my body. My arms didn't go where I wanted, while my legs were aimlessly wandering around the room.

Then I tripped over something and hit may face to the floor.

"Ughh! What the hell!"

While I was lifting myself up, I stopped halfway and widened my eyes at the sight of my reflection over the mirror. No, let me correct it: Not my reflection but someone else's. It was fascinating. It was pure handsomeness. How could I be so charming, I thought.

Two grey eyes stared at him from the mirror. His eyes resembled of those of a wolf. However, those eyes were devoid of any happiness. Instead, they were indifference and were showed signs of fatigue. He had black hair, some of which were covering his eyes slightly. He was probably 17 years old. He had smooth white skin, with 181cm height.

Now that I finished admiring myself, I could recollect my memories. I lied on my bed and closed my eyes. First of all, I died, that's certain. Then I found myself in a void. Finally, in this room, with a body that's completely different.

I furrowed by eyebrows and mumbled, "That doesn't even make any sense..."

I guess thinking about this won't do any help to me. Let's just say I reincarnated with memories from my old life still intact. Who, why, and how would someone be able to do this to me?

"Not that I don't like the sound of it though!" A grin appeared on my face subconsciously.

"I was hoping to cut all my ties with my old life anyway. Yet, who would have thought that my last and only wish would be actually granted!"

I got up and walked towards the door. I gripped the doorknob tightly.

I thought, "I promise myself not to get into any relationship that can and will make my life miserable, I am and will be always free of those chains! In this new life, I will only live up to myself!"

However, the fate had its own plans for this boy called Theodore Miller.
