A loud thunderstorm echoed in the sky, flashing the branches of electrolytes appearing above, invading the darkness.
A moment between the fight, the Alpha threw a strong hateful gaze at Kai who was still in the wolf's form. The stormy wind started flowing, rustling the trees messily.
Kai growled in rage. There was no stepping back for him. Looking at his adamant stance, Alpha shifted back to his human form.
"Don't forget what you are and what he is!"
Kai's red eyes threw daggers at the former. "All I know is that he is my friend!"
Alpha huffed at his words.
Kai turned back and found the other members of his pack attacking his friend. He let out an agonizing growl while aiming toward them. Looking at Beta's fierce form, some of the wolves in the pack stepped back.
Kai barged into the fight, dragging away his friend from them to the far most distance in the forest. While rolling on the ground, he came back to his human form while Augustus played a trick on him using his power. Kai saw the merciless ripper in front of him and covered the black void eyes when he tried to gaze deep into his soul to rip it off.
It offended the ripper when Kai pinned him down underneath.
"F**k it, Augustus, come back."
Augustus rolled down, taking control over the Kai.
"NO" the bloodied ripper's deep growling mixed with the thundering making a fearful impact on the other living beings in the forest. With tiny droplets, rains started pouring down.
Kai fiercely faced the ripper but avoided looking at those cruel void eyes that fetched souls.
Augustus growled removing that palm over covering his eyes. They stopped rolling on the ground when Augustus pinned the azure head on the ground forcefully and came over him letting out small but heavy hoarse breaths.
"Come back, my friend" Kai kept covering the former's eyes, face with his palms, but the ripper was overpowering him.
"GET OFF ME OR ELSE I WILL KILL YOU!" the ripper warned but all could Kai see was his friend. There he felt a hope to revert him. He shook his head firmly in a no.
In the haste of getting a hold of each other, Kai wrapped his legs around the former's torso and toyed him down on the ground sitting over him. The ripper growled manically. The dark eyes demanded the eye lock to fetch the soul in front of him. In a snap, Kai kept his two fingers on the specific points of the temple and pressed it.
Augustus started struggling hard beneath him. Kai was trying to get himself back thus he put pressure on his brain to remember the memories of their friendship but the ripper was hell-bent to get what he wants.
Kai saw his friend shuffling under him. It was sure Augustus wanted to control the ripper in him but failed in it miserably. His dark ripper self wasn't ready to leave him. He wanted blood, soul, ear-wrenching squeals, fear but his friend was making it all difficult for him. He knew if this struggle went for more than a minute then he might kill the azure head in front of him. He tried to hold on to that last thin power of getting back to being normal but lost himself bit by bit.
In the end, he pushed off the former wolf in a force with a loud growl and started running into the forest, away from him.
Kai fell at a far distance this much the ripper's strength got him. But he couldn't give up. If not now then he might lose his friend forever, and thus he got up charging toward him.
Augustus ran like a mad creature, away from everything, to prevent himself from doing anything at the same time craving to rip the souls. As if he is battling with dual personalities that resided within him.
Kai chased him with an equal speed which Augustus didn't want it but the ripper in him has started forming a devilish plan to end the wolf.
Augustus's eyes fell on a small room in a garage. He entered the locked the door quickly when Kai was an inch away behind him, hastily grabbing the doorknob.
"DON'T OPEN THE DOOR! I BEG YOU" Augustus's one loud yell halted Kai from breaking the door.
The ripper in him grabbed the handle of the door in an attempt to open it while Augustus tried hard to push it back. His fight is with himself. His one per cent of effort trying to control the strong cruel ripper in him gave him hard time.
Kai palpitated knowing the state of his friend inside. He stepped back from the door restlessly. His eyes fell on the moon in the sky. He wanted to stop this.
If Augustus does not revert tonight he will lose control of himself forever and that might be dangerous for everyone, along with him. With that thought, he let out a howl looking at the moon covered behind dark clouds.
Augustus pushed himself away from the door. In the haste of getting control of himself, he slammed himself against many things in the room, couldn't control his body from getting bumped on the shelves. His mobile fell in the mess of the broken things beneath his feet. He swung from one side to another, trying to revert to his original form but failed.
It was his fight! To get rid of himself!
In the final attempt to gather everything back to himself, he accidentally bumped his head on the wall and stepped on his mobile. The screen touched a music player and started playing something he had recorded for himself.
A voice that has managed to earn a place in his heart.
The recording started playing Ivan's song from the recent event at his school.
His melodious voice filled in every corner of the room making the ripper startled suddenly. Something captivated him when Ivan's soothing voice collided with his ears softly yet straight to his heart like an arrow shot from the cupid's bow. His legs became wobbly.
He stumbled back and slump down with a thud.
He appeared powerless, musing on the euphonious voice of the one he calls Tiny, but held a Big impact on him.
He leaned his head back on the wall, shutting his eyes, letting himself dissolve in Ivan's presence around him. The effect of his voice felt so strong to his mind that subsided the storm within him.
His fangs reverted. His withered skin started glooming. His long claws vanished slowly. His lips shaded out its darkness, appearing lusciously red. His dark orbs that held the universe without any stars and sky, dissolved to the blue and then returned to normal.
The soaked dark scarlet hair on his nape started fading and without much struggle, he got back his raven self.
Ivan's magical voice kept colliding with his ears making him come back from insanity to the sane world.
His lips quivered, eyes blinked with teary joy, and pupils dilated as he recollected a core memory of his heart.

A fully loaded truck with animals and birds was heading towards another town. The sky looked darker than before with no sign of the moon. While the truck drove ahead at a speed, its doors of it started unlocking due to the rocky path. When the tires went over a small pebble, the truck jerked up and in a snap, the door gets opened. The cages of the animals inside bounced. While driving over another small rock, the truck jerked up, this time accidentally a cage bounced out of the truck, falling to the ground. The truck went ahead, unbothered to halt it and check the fallen cage.
Meanwhile, a brunette boy in his teenager halted on his steps when his eyes fell on the cage. His clothes appeared dirty as the truck has driven from the puddle, splashing all the mud over him.
Now his eyes caught on something else. He headed near the cage and saw an injured owl trying to get out of the broken cage but its wings were stuck inside. When he bent near to it, the owl started flapping its wings in rage to prevent others from touching it. The boy looked baffled. He tried to shuffle the cage for the owl to escape but the birdie was making it difficult. In the haste, he saw the owl injuring its wings more. The boy exhaled giving up and touched the owl, carefully lifted it, removing the cage without hurting the bird. The owl flapped its wings loud and in rage to smack the boy away but tamed instantly when he caressed its head, whispering some sweet nothings.
"Hey, you sweet beautiful bird, don't worry, I am here" The boy assured the bird in his hands. The owl appeared anxious but at least it stopped flapping its wings, the boy thought and went further towards his house.
He sneakily entered his foster house. His stepbrothers were busy playing monopoly in the hallway while his foster parents were in their rooms. Before his brothers find out and bully him, the boy tiptoed on the staircase which led him towards his room holding the owl in his hands. Once in the room, he closed the door neatly and went inside the washroom. He kept the owl in the washbasin.
"Mr Owl, you will soon get well and start to fly. I hope you don't mind me calling Mr Owl. Well, I am Ivan, and tonight you are my guest."
First, he gently rinsed the owl's injured wings. The blood over it made him nauseous but he didn't stop. Then he applied some medicine over it, wrapping it in the bandage. After some time, he attended his dinner while keeping the bread for his new guest. At night he fed the bird and also put a small bowl of water to drink. While treating the owl, he hummed a song. It diluted Owl's eyes as he watched the boy in front of him singing so well.

Augustus came out of the track of the memories. Ivan held the power to tame him from the beginning. Someone is there in his life who can hold power over him, this thought gave goosebumps Augustus.
His eyes hooked to somewhere else after recalling that night when he met Ivan for the first time.
His eyes fell on the broken mirror on the ground and he noticed himself in it. Apart from the blood-covered mouth, there was a slight smile on his face. His gut screamed that something has changed when he appeared like that. He has recorded Ivan's voice every single time they have met them. The music player on his mobile has a collection of their conversations and his singing. He grabbed his mobile and paused the recording with a knowing look on his face.
Yes, something has changed!
For the better of the worsts.
