I took in a deep breath and called out the only one who could be following me.
"Long time no see. Yellow haired bastard." I said, remembering the bastard whom I had tortured in the love hotel bathroom.
It seemed that I was too merciful back then for him to return to me like this.
I turned around and watched as the one who was following me finally revealed itself.
From the dark it came, a brown dog with an orange mane. It's body was thin and ragged, as if it had starved and had ran through jungles for weeks.
The dog was dirty and smeared with mud and dirt. It looked weak yet that did not hide her size which was a little too big to be that of a normal dog.
{That's a dog.}
'Really? I couldn't tell the difference with the other guy.' I said and the author chuckled.
The dog came closer and closer to me and after it was close enough, I was finally able to see her clearly and I was shocked.
I know it.
Or should I say I know her.
It was the wolf I had saved from the truck. The wolf whom I had played with that day in the hospital. I had never heard of it since then, what is she doing here?
I crouched down and put my hand forward while I softly whispered, "Hey girl, come here."
Her feet were hesitant as they slowly carried her towards me. She stopped right before I could reach her and she began sniffing and smelling my hand which was reaching out for her.
She smelled me, as if trying to confirm my identity.
Then she suddenly bolted towards me and she found her destined place on my chest. I was surprised and tried to push her away at first but then she stared crying.
At least that's what it sounded like. It sounded like the cry a dog would make when it was in pain.
She pushed herself on my chest, rubbing her face onto me for dear life and I couldn't help myself from wrapping my arms around her.
'Who hurt her?'
"Hey now, it's fine." I said to the wolf. Sure she didn't understand my words but at least I hoped she understood my tone.
My tone which showed my concern for her.
I wondered what had happened to her during the time we were apart. She was a very clever and friendly wolf when I met her and that had made me suspect that she was trained. So I assumed that she had a owner.
'Was that it? Did her owner abandon her or something?' I asked myself though I doubted that. Who would abandon a wolf pet? That was cool as fuck.
So maybe they moved to another place where wild animals are not allowed as pets? I theorized.
The wolf, she trembled in my arms and she was silently whining. It felt like she was telling me all her pain.
"It's fine. Good girl, what did they do to you?" I spoke, mostly to myself as I inspected her.
There was no wound or injury on her but there were multiple scratches which marred her body. Her once gorgeous fur was dirty and rough, telling me that she had clearly been through something.
Something I couldn't quite figure out yet.
We stayed like that for a while in the middle of the sidewalk. The moon was up in the sky, a sign that meant that it was no longer evening but night.
'Sumire must be worried.' I thought to myself even though I had messaged her that I was going to be late since I hang out with my friends.
It was night and there was still that criminal who stabbed people roaming around in the city. So I was sure she was worried.
I continued petting the wolf in my arms. I had done this for a while now and she had calmed down and was just enjoying my touch.
"Poor girl." I whispered while I continued stroking her fur. Her head was still buried in my chest.
Though I would have liked to be with her for some more time, I needed to go home soon before it was too late.
So I pulled her away from me and petted her head. She was looking at me with those orange hazel eyes that was more aware than any eyes I had ever seen.
Again. They were pretty eyes.
"Well I would've liked to spend more time with you but I need to go now." I said. I didn't know why I kept talking to the damn animal but I did anyway.
I hoisted my school bag on my shoulder and turned around while giving a final wave at her. "Bye!!"
'I hope she returned to her home soon and nothing bad happen to her.' I thought to myself.
Then I was on my way back home.

'Why is she still following me?' I thought as I walked towards my home. I was nearly there now.
But as I said, the wolf was still following me. I had hoped that it would go away soon after following me for a while but she seemed to be determined to follow me.
I stopped my steps and stood still.
And so did she.
I turned around and confronted her. She was not even far behind me.
In fact, she was right behind me.
"Don't you have somewhere else to go." I asked and she tilted her head as if to convey her confusion.
Her flappy ears swayed and she was very cute even though she should be a wolf. But I steeled my heart.
"Go." I said and pointed to the opposite direction from me.
"Shoo!! Go home." I said and she finally seemed to understand what I mean.
But then with her eyes locking at mine, she sat down.
'No, I will not go home. I want to go with you.' her action seemed to say.
"Fine, stay there." I said and continued walking and just as I did so, she also stood up and followed me.
I stopped again. She stopped too.
I walked backwards. Moonwalking. She did too.
I stopped again and stand still. She did too.
Then I suddenly moved to my left, seemingly trying to run in that direction but then I stopped. I tried to trick her. But she wasn't tricked.
Then for the second time I faked a run to my right before actually sprinting away to my left.
I was fast. I was speed. I thought I had lost her.
But guess what?
I didn't.
She was still right behind me.
"Okay, this is ridiculous." I said and turned around to confront her again.
I looked at her eyes. It was the only human-like part of her body so I felt like I could communicate the most when looking at her eyes.
"Do you wanna come with me?" I asked and her tail began wagging left and right.
Cute.
"Sure you wanna come with me?" I asked again and this time she spun around to show she wants to.
Okay.
That was not a problem. Actually I liked the idea.
I can keep her.
I mean, how cool is having a wolf as a pet?
"Okay then." I said and gestured her to follow me. Her tail began wagging more as she came to my side and walked right beside me.
I smiled and ruffled her head.
Then I took her home.
I had a pet now.
I never had one before. I wondered how it would be like? But she was a wolf, will it be similar to having a dog?
Hopefully this won't cause me any trouble in the future.
I am sure it won't.
Right?
