Oak laughed as he knows that she is an energetic one. More so than his grandson who kinda is a arrogant young boy.

"Kurtis! the pokemon you brought it belonged to the Unova region such a rare sight to find it here in kanto especially in town"

"It was nice to see such pokemon as, I haven't yet seen all Unova pokemon and knowing there are more in other regions makes me so excited!"

Kurtis smiled seeing Oak's enthusiastic personality as always in the show and it rubs off a bit on him.

"Well professor I'm going to watch the battle"

"Alright do that and if you ever catch another pokemon from another region tell me"

He left Oak to do his research as he went to see his sister battle none other than gary Oak. Just as he arrived he saw a lightning flash pass and hit close to the pokemon ashley was battling.

"Eve quickly use tackle!"

"Pickachu use thunderbolt!"

Eve dodged the thunderbolt as Gary quickly commanded it.

"Eve quickly use quick attack"

Eve this time gets a hit in while Ashley ddidn't know what to do since it's her first time battling. As Pikachu took a good amount of damage.

"Pikachu use thunderbolt again"

"Haha reckless as always Ashley"

Gary smirked as he put a hand on his face.

"Shut up"

Ashley was stressed not knowing what to do next.

"Even use quick attack to dodge then do take down"

"Eve!"

Dodging the thunderbolt then taking down pikachu who now couldn't do much. As it struggled to dodge.

"And that's that Gary wins as Pikachu is unable to battle"

Kurtis interfered ending the match making both of them look at them.

"Well you heard the man, I won besides it was won from the start"

"Hmph! I'll win next time, I'll get stronger and become a pokemon master"

"Haha same old dream! Kurtis how about we battle or have you not gotten your pokemon yet?"

"I guess we can give it a go"

Kurtis smiled at her as ashley gave him the stare knowing that he would be interrogated.

Gary smirked thinking that it will be another win over the ketchum siblings.

Eve returns to the pokeball as Gary pulls another pokemon.

(He pulled it out and here, I thought that this world being slight different than the original would have him on another pokemon but depends on how, I influence this world)

"Sawk you're up"

"Sawk, sawk!"

"Woah! I never seen that pokemon brother! Where did you find it"

"I'll answer later and now gary you ready?"

"I never seen that pokemon but I'll whoop you!"

Gary was fascinated as he never saw that type of pokemon.

"Haha! I hope so"

They grinned at each other as Ashley looked at her brother seeing him like this made her daydream a silly delusional dream, making drool.

Oak came by as he watched and besides he couldn't help his curiosity when it comes how this pokemon performs Kurtis sawk.

Oak broke it up now seeing Gary all riled up but then calmed down surprisingly.

"Only your brother beat me and you didn't ashley and besides i'll get my rematch next time I'll beat you"

Ashley fumed as Kurtis chuckled because the fight wasn't to one sided as it was his first battle so Sawk took damage but they were able to perform to good in whooping gary's ass.

"Yeah, no problem anytime gary now Ashley lets go show mom your pokemon"

Quickly calming dow.

"Still such a follower of your brother like always"

"Shut up, I'll follow my brother wherever he goes"

"It would be a hassle having you following him as he might stumble upon himself getting girlfriend"

Gary then poked at her with words that made him shiver from her cold stare. He shut up real quick because thinking about it right now.

Gary left while Oak just shook his head. Friends they were growing up but now Gary changed but they still have that friendship which is a rivalry. A rivalry circle where Ashley wants to beat Gary and gary wants to beat Kurtis.

(Kids these days such youth makes me reminiscent of the past)
