"And just to be clear, other than it appearing in your family around 100 years ago, there are no other records or indications of what the curse might be, or how it even came to affect your family in the first place?" Khan clarified.
"No.... My father told me, and I confirmed it for myself in our family records, that there are no other records or indications of what the curse might be, or who even casted the curse in the first place. Just that it was cast on my Great-Grand-"
"Fleur! Pourquoi es-tu encore ici? Arrête de perdre du temps et pars!"
Daphne was loudly interrupted by a witch screaming out in rapid French, much to Jordan's distraction. And while he was fluent in French, the witch spoke at such a rapid pace, that he only caught the bits and pieces of her sentence.
Having heard his girlfriend's name clearly however, although he was currently helping Daphne, he couldn't help but look over towards where the French sounding commotion was going on, wondering if she was arguing with her friends he still had yet to meet from Beauxbatons.
And there he saw his beautiful girlfriend, looking a little pale, standing frozen in front of another booth, one he assumed was full of her old Beauxbatons friends, who were probably mad at her for not spending any time with them lately.
That was probably his fault if he were being honest, for taking up so much of her time the past month with their 'activities'... He should probably greet her and her friends properly and apologize...
"Fleur? What are you doing here? I thought you had some other plans today?" He called out trying not to sound suspicious, while moving to get out of the booth, intending to head over and properly greet/save her from her friends, excusing himself from Daphne in the process. "One second Daphne. Just want to make sure everything's all right…. I'll be right back."
"Actually... I should probably get going. I didn't realize how late it had gotten and need to start heading back. Promised Astoria that I would grab dinner with her." Daphne replied as Khan moved to stand up. "Thank you for listening to me Prof. Khan. I hope that I can count on not only your aide, but your discretion as well."
"Of course Daphne! And not to worry... I'm confident that with we'll be able to help your sister!" Khan responded by tapping his right fist to his left chest, right over his heart, in a small yet comforting gesture.
Blushing slightly while waving him goodbye, Daphne took her leave, with her thoughts full of Khan, their discussion, and feeling a lot lighter than she had in years.
And not that she would ever admit this to anybody, but in the future, she would also find herself thinking constantly back to this day, and in particular, about how noble and suave her Prof. looked.

"Hey Fleur!" Khan greeted his girlfriend with a wide smile, and having finally arrived in front of her, he reached out grabbing the still frozen Fleur by the hand, pulling her towards him in the process.
Giving her a small kiss in greetings, he followed up by whispering a little huskily in her ear, simultaneously melting Fleur out of her Frozen state, and turning her on a bit in the process. "I missed you today."
"And OO might this young man be, Fleur?" Her Mother called out, interrupting the couple out of their moment.
Needless to say, the 'process' that Khan had recently just started with his 'husky whisper' was completely halted in its tracks, as Fleur began to 're-freak-out', as she remembered that her parents were there... and wanted to meet Jordan... and were probably watching them currently whisp-
She shoved her husband away quickly, before they made a worse impression on her parents!
"Ooof! Guess you didn't miss me too…."
She ignored her groaning husband, instead looking towards her parents to see what faces they were making.
And while her mom had a wide Cheshire Cat like grin on her face, her father looked downright murderous.
And funnily enough, she feared both looks equally.
'Merde...'
Khan meanwhile, had finally looked towards the booth, and realized that Fleur was in fact not having an argument with her Beauxbaton friends.
To his slight shock, instead of teenage witches, all dressed in Beauxbatons robes like he was expecting, there was instead what looked to be a family?
But why would a family be arguing in French with Fleur....
Getting a closer look at the family seated down at the booth, Khan looked first towards the ladies, as they were both quite beautiful and looked strangely similar to Fle-
Looking back towards his girlfriend, his eyes were wide with shock, as he finally realized that this was probably Fleur's family sitting down at the booth. Especially with how similar Fleur looked to both her mother and her sister.
Her little sister still appeared quite young, however, Jordan could tell already that she would attract just as many looks as her older sister did, when she herself finally grew up; and with her silver-blonde hair, and mischievous looking eyes, she would be quite the bombshell.
Speaking of bombshell, Khan looked towards the older witch, he assumed was Fleur's mother. And my god, what a witch. Looking still quite young and obviously very beautiful, Khan could only hope that Fleur herself would keep her looks, the same way her mother and Natty appeared to, when they each grew older.
In fact, if it wasn't for the presence of the older looking gentleman seated alongside them, holding hands with the Lady, Jordan would have assumed that the older witch was Fleur's older sister, rather than her mother.
An older stern looking gentleman, he really did fit what Khan imagined a 'chief of the department for Aurors' would look like, at least in terms of mannerisms and facial expressions.... assuming that he himself was correct, and that gentleman was indeed her father.
A naturally cross looking gentleman, unlike some of the current British Ministers, Jordan could tell simply from the man's posture, that he was a person who commanded and demanded respect.
And he could tell, from the frown on his face at least, that he was not currently impressed.
"Jordan Khan, is it?" The older gentleman spoke up with a gruff sounding voice, speaking out in perfect English, albeit with a very slight French accent still prevalent.
"Yes sir."
"Good... And you're the one that my daughter's been spending all her time with recently?"
Guess he was right.... this is Fleur's family.
"Yes sir... we've been seeing each other for a little over a month now."
"I see.... Well I suggest you take a seat."
'Shit...'
*****
"So tell me, what are your future plans? You are quite young to be head of such a prestigious, not to mention, infamous, house, after all. Are you ready for all that responsibility?"
Khan was seated in the booth, Fleur and Gabby seated on either side of him, as he faced down his future In-Laws and their numerous questions regarding his intentions towards Fleur.
Although Jordan was typically very good at meeting and talking with numerous people, having experienced and attended many social events and gatherings in the past together with his parents, he found that he was feeling rather nervous when trying to answer/impress his future in-laws.
He knew he was on thin ice with her father already, and that was before he even talked to them... As a result, he knew he had to bring his A-game so to speak, and truly try to impress them.
"Yes sir, I believe I am. I have numerous goals for not only the future of the Khan family, but also with regards to expanding the various businesses we will eventually control."
"And with regards to my future plans and career, aside from obviously supporting Fleur with whatever goals/plans she would like to pursue, I personally would like to adventure around the world for a period of time, with the goal of learning as many different forms of magic as possible, before settling down to become a teacher."
"To that point, I have also already begun my teaching career as a Jr. Professor, mentoring both under Prof. Flitwick and Senior Auror Moody teaching both Charms and Defense to all Hogwarts students."
"It is My hope and eventual goal, to help guide and hopefully influence/inspire the next generation to be the best wizards/witches they can be!"
"Idealistic I see.... We'll see if that holds up in the real world." Mr. Delacour responded, seemingly not impressed. "And what is this I hear about another tournament you planned, that for some reason is happening at the same time as the Triwizard Tournament?"
"Yes sir.... It was an old game that my previous Charms Professor invented that I happened to teach to all my charms classes called Summoner's Court. Incidentally, That game became quite popular in school, and as a result, I decided to throw a tournament."
"Oh I see... Figured you'd try to take some attention away from the Triwizard tournament... Trying to take advantage of having two other international magic schools eh...."
"No sir! I just thought that it would be fun for all the students! Quidditch is canceled, and at least this way, with this Summoner's Cup tournament of mine, they would all be able to participate in something fun and competitive."
"You know, bo- young man... I deal with criminals and hear their stories every day. You do know that I am the head of the French Auror Department, correct?"
"Yes sir."
"So I'm sure you're aware of what exactly my position entails. I have a keen eye for details and people's intentions... You wouldn't want to give me any reason to doubt you, would you Mr. Khan?"
"Of course not sir. I would never do anything to hurt your daughter!"
"Papa..... Can you please not interrogate him. He's not a suspect!"
"You better not!" Louis responded to Khan, ignoring Fleur, as he stared Jordan down unblinkingly. "She means everything to me, and I won't hesitate to protect her!"
"I understand sir.... I- uh" He glanced to Fleur at his side, a little embarrassed at what he was about to say, before turning back intending to answer her father, still not completely comfortable with sharing his feelings just yet.
Noticing this, Fleur's mother, who still had yet to say anything, and was simply watching her husband interrogate Jordan, spoke up, addressing her daughters in rapid french.
<Fleur! Gabby! Come help your mother fetch more drinks for the table.>
"Maman...." Fleur responded in a slightly whiney tone. Her father was giving her husband such a hard time already and that was with her there to help ease some tension. She could only imagine how much worse it would get without her there to help buffer things...
<Come along Fleur! Let them have their boys-talk. Your father won't do anything to your man, don't worry!>
Hearing her mother call out for her again, she grudgingly got out of the booth, glaring at her father in warning, following her mother, and her excited sister, as they started moving towards the bar.
Leaving Jordan alone with Louis.
A few moments of uncomfortable staring at each other later, Khan decided to continue, after taking a few breaths to prepare himself.
"With all due respect, I feel the same way about her sir. In the short time we've known each other, she's become a very important person in my life. I care about Fleur a lot, and would never do anything to jeopardize our relationship."
"In fact, Even if we were not dating, I would still consider her an important friend, and would still not hesitate to give up my life for her!"
"Hmmm. Well, we'll see if your actions match your words boy. Keep in mind, I have ways of finding out the truth."
"Of course sir... I'm looking forward to proving myself to you and your family."
"You know... It's been my job to protect all of France again any and all dangers, both internal as well as foreign. I have held this position for the past 15 years, and as a result I am very good at my job. It is something I take immense pride in."
"But as proud as I am of my job, I am even prouder of being Fleur's and Gabby's Father. I have watched Fleur in particular, grow up into a beautiful, strong, intelligent, and compassionate woman, and have protected her, as best I could, from the horrors of this world."
"Tell me Jordan, what makes you think that you are ready to do the same?"
Khan met Louis Delacour's gaze with a steady one of his own. He could feel the weight of the man's scrutiny, the intensity of his presence. He realized that this was a pivotal moment, a chance to prove himself not just to Fleur's father, but to her entire family.
"Sir, I understand the responsibility you carry as the head of the French Auror Department," Khan began, his voice unwavering. "And I respect the duty you hold to protect your country and its citizens. I may not have faced the same challenges as you have, but I am committed to facing whatever comes my way with courage and determination."
He continued, "I have a deep admiration for Fleur, not just as my girlfriend but as an individual. As you just said, She's strong, intelligent, and compassionate. One of My main goals in fact, is to support her in her dreams and ambitions, and to stand by her side through thick and thin."
Louis Delacour's stern expression seemed to soften slightly as he listened to Khan's words. He leaned back in his seat, assessing the bo- no, young man, before him.
"You have quite the confidence, Mr. Kh-, Jordan." Louis remarked.
Jordan nodded, "Confidence comes from believing in what you do and who you care for. And I have every reason to believe in Fleur; to believe in us; to believe in our relationship."
