Prologue

There are lot of things in this world that neither you and I will ever understand yet there are people, not like you and I that have fallen into the cruel hands of fate, unbreaking, bounded and perhaps, forever. And this is their story...

The day was nearly coming to an end, the sun had slowly sunk behind the majestic peaks of the mountain ranges, cascading an orange glow over the lands below it. Among those lands the sun glows upon, stood a castle. It towered among all the other structures below it, asserting its dominance all over the land but no matter how thick the walls of this castle be, there are doors and they tend to open...a lot.

Across the castle grounds was a hill well known for lovers of many kind. May they be nobles or peasants, the hill is a trademark of any lover's meetings. Being young and naïve had many disadvantages but when used well, has its own advantages and on this very day, when the day was coming to an end, the sun had slowly sunk into the mountain peak, two lovers met, drowning the world with their each other's presence.

"Can we stay like this forever?" tuck in between the embrace of a young man clad in a dark brown cloak, an elegant royal blue jacket with his family colors pinned to his chest and a dark skin tight pants was a beautiful maiden dressed in a fine red dress adorned with valuable stones that glints every time the sunlight hits them.

The wind blew pass them and the man pulled the maiden closer to him, burying her with his warmth. "I do hope so as well my love, but your father will never approve of a man like me,"

The maiden pulled away and faced the man, "Nonsense, you are a great man from a great family, how could my father not adore you like how I did from the first time I saw you?" the maiden scowled and the man laughed lightly and cupped her face. "We are both bound to marry somebody else my love, it is our fate," those words were like daggers to the maiden's heart and her face fell.

"Then let us elope my dearest, let us run away from all the objections of this world,"

Her sudden proclamation startled the young man and he slightly moved away from her to see her face clearly.

"How could you utter such a preposterous thing. We cannot possibly just leave our homes, my love. We have our whole lives set in this place and we are just to leave for such reasons, I have to refuse my dearest,"

"But why not? It is you who have said that my father will never approve of a man like you, do you not love me no more?" the maiden exclaimed and tears dampened her red rosy cheeks. "I love you so much that it'll sink the entire enemy's fleet if love was a weapon but leaving our families behind is just too much to bear," the young man waved his hand in the air to emphasize his point and the maiden fell to the ground in hysterics.

The young man knelt before the maiden and he pulled her into his arms. "Please do not cry my love, the sound of your lament is breaking my heart to pieces," he sooth and the maiden struggled to get out of his hold but the man tightened his arms around her.

"Let go of me you brute, let go of me! Have you no shame? Hugging me so tenderly after taking my pride away. Let go me, I say!" The maiden kicked her legs in the air as she attempt to escape the young man's arms.

"Speak ill of me as much as you like my love but it shall not change my mind," the young man stated firmly and the maiden sunk back to her knees and more tears fell from her reddened eyes.

The young man carefully slid his arms away from the maiden's midriff and he watched helplessly as the maiden cried her heart out. Suddenly, the maiden look up from her hands, eyes burning with rage.

"There is someone else is it?"

"What made you think so my love? I would never, there is only one woman in my heart and that would be you," the man replied and the maiden glared at him with distaste.

"I am no fool of a man's heart, if you truly have someone else in your heart then tell me so that I will leave you alone," the maiden whispered meekly, her voice breaking into sobs.

The young man grab the maiden's arm and pulled her close to him. "I dare not do such a horrible thing my love. You are the only fire kindling in my lonely heart, without your warmth, I am afraid that I shall die—" the maiden gasp and clamp her hands on the young man's mouth.

"Don't you dare say that word my love. Hearing that dreadful syllable is making me sick!" The maiden cried out and the corners of the man's lips quirked up.

Noticing, the maiden gasp and her eyes narrowed towards her lover. "How dare you smile after breaking my heart?" She gritted her teeth and the young man placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Their is no one else my dear," the young man lay himself down on the grassy field with the maiden tuck safely in his arms. "Then why don't you run away with me? We shall have the whole world for ourselves if we do, please reconsider," the maiden look up from her lashes and the young man gave her a smile.

"I'm afraid I have to remain firm with my decision, even if I agree to elope with you, I cannot support both of us without the help of our fathers," the young man gave the girl's forehead another kiss and brought his hand to her cheeks, wiping away the wetness. "We can find a way," the maiden insisted but the man shook his head gently and tightened his hold around her waist.

"Just be patient my love, we shall have the world for ourselves one day," he whispered and the maiden let out a breathy laughter as his lips grazed her cheeks.

"Do you really think the gods will grant us our own heaven?" She whispered back and the young man gaze upon her eyes with so much love. "Yes, even if we are world apart, I shall find you," he said and the maiden let out a breathy laugh, "You are so hilarious. If we are to die in this life, you will hold no memory of me to the next, how will you find me?"

The young man chuckled and look up to the sky that had now turned dark, "Then I'll beg the gods to make me remember everything about you," his words were filled with a sense of promise and the maiden grinned and moved closer to him, laying her head on his shoulders. "I love you,"

"I love you..."

The young man moved away from the maiden and gently placed his hand on the back of her neck and pulled her face closer to his. "...and I promise, I'll always will," he brought his head down to the maiden's. His lips molded perfectly with hers' and they both stayed in each other's arms with their hearts beating erratically in complete synch.
