Operation under way. [Day 8]

Ignoring my loss of sanity, we continue our way up the mountain towards the caves to start the mining operation.

We didn't find any new monsters, so it was smooth sailing to the cave. Once inside we make our way to the first large expanse. Inside the large expanse, the group of villagers was just as awed as we were when we first saw it.

I then lead them to the crack in the wall.

Me: "Alright Horst the second expense is on the other side of this crack but as you can see it is going to have to be a much larger tunnel to be able to get through it."

Horst: "Don't worry I know what to do. It's why I brought an appetence of Walfried who is going to help us construct the tunnel."

Me: "All right I will leave it in the hands of the professional."

I then leave them to get to work whilst the guard squad are on the lookout or helping with the work.

I decide to continue the practice of my skills to try and level them up more. So I spent the rest of that day doing a mixture of sword skills, weapon throwing, and my class. Through working from the start of the day to the end of the day I managed to level up to three of them.

With that, another day goes by. We all head back home after a good day's work.

Back at home as we approach, I can see some of the work that is taking place in the village. Many of the trees have been chopped down and are now being made into planks for the wall. I can also see some have started to dig the ditch around the wall. Back with the guards at the front gate, everyone who was hunting today has said that they will evolve today.

Before separating from the guards through I tell them about a new plan for now.

Me: "Alright from now on there will be a slight shift in plan in your five teams I want two to always be hunting and gaining EXP every day and hunting. Two teams will guide and protect the mining people in the mountain and the last team will defend the village and the rebuild efforts. We will keep with this plan until something new happens or we need to change it. Valret, you decide the order but make sure that the teams who are doing which job are different every day. I will be going with the hunting team to level up as well."

I then leave Valret to organise his team whilst I head home for the day.

Meeting with the guards the next day I can see that they all evolved, and all chose to pick Kabalt. Looks like they all like their humanoid ways.

With each team knowing their jobs everyone heads out with Valret deciding to go with the mining team.

At the river I allow the team to go hunting whilst I do the same. I will be honest and say that I was a tad bit bored with just practising so I decide to get some fieldwork in.

On my sides are Rex and Freya and we are hunting to find some big prey today, hopefully, some F rank creatures.

So far, we have managed to find some horned rabbits, but they don't give enough EXP to think about.

Although as we walk through the forest, I can hear some kind of sort of crackling noise, it does sound natural. Definitely animal in nature and quite a few of them as well. After a few annoying minutes later, the culprit decides to reveal themselves.

Eira is the evolved form of Eiri which have adapted to chit to each other as a form of communication. They spend all their time in packs to hunt down large and more difficult targets that by themselves they could not hunt. They still have black colour fur and red eyes but also have red stripes from the eyes down the side of the body.

From the forest, there are around seven of them crawling out of the forest surrounding us. Still chittering to each other, creating an annoying noise that seems to echo around the group like they are bouncing the sound between them.

Feeling like taking the first move this time I quickly pull my two knives, the iron and flint one, from the scabbard and threw them at the two in front managing to kill them both. Whilst I do this Rex and Freya join in on the battle and rush to the two sides with three for Rex and two for Freya.

Before I can move to help either of them more rush out from the forest in front of me. Feeling confident in my sword skills I quickly draw my sword and run to attack.

Three come out of the forest and all run towards me, whilst one goes for a frontal attack the rest go for the side trying to flank me. But I have dealt with this many times before so dashing forward I surprise the frontal one and manage to slice him in half. Then spinning on my feet, I carry the blade and attack the one that attacked my left allowing my blade to sink straight into it killing it.

The last one then tries to attack my side but that was what I was waiting for so when it did, I used the bottom of the blade to smash it nocking it to the ground confused allowing me to finish it off quickly.

Looking up I can see that some more joined in with two more attacking Freya, but it seems that she with the help of Rex seemed to finish them off. It seems that even though they are in the F rank range they were not that strong they would just use large numbers to help them fight.

Picking up my knives so I don't forget I also check the EXP.
