2 Chapter One

AFTER A LONG DAY LIKE TODAY IN THE FALL OF 2016, it wasn't unheard of for many employees of wells merchant marketing to head home to their families and enjoy the time to themselves until they had to return to the familiar routine on Monday. Unless, of course, you were the young lady climbing into her truck in the far corner of the parking lot. Her name being Lucia Wells. Her family, the owners of the company, are known as ruthless business people and getting a deal from them or with them is an honor among itself. However, that family holds a secret.

She sits in her truck and eyes the medallion sitting in her mirror. To most, it's just a necklace given to her by her family, but it's an heirloom passed down to every leader of the wells clan. She became the leader when her father died 2 years ago, A long tale for a fearless man. He deserves more glory than what he was given and even the thought of her father brought tears to her eyes, but her face then goes blank. Trying to show strength even in a time of sadness because she was taught at a young age that emotions mean weakness and therefore, could and would be used against her by her enemies or whom wish to pull the wool over her eyes in business meetings. Especially the frost company. Just the thought of them gives Lucia a fire within to want to burn them to the ground. They have been a rivalry company for years, even way before her father's ownership. Going back to her great grandfather, the Frost company as well as the frost Family has been a thorn in her family's side. She has made it her mission to bring them down one way or another before she settles down and creates another heir to the Wells company fortune.

She pulls out of the parking lot and into the Florida traffic and cruised with the 5 pm traffic. Many men seeing the woman in the driving seat of a truck and sending wolf whistles her way, which led her to no longer enjoy the warm air. She turns on the radio and something immediately caught her interest.

"---eyewitnesses say that huge creatures are destroying their livestock in northern Tallahassee. Many say these are huge wolves, others are saying bears. Although both are highly unlikely, local law enforcement has agreed to keep an eye out for whatever is killing their cattle."

She smirks. *Huge wolves huh. Well looks like the mutts are acting up again. *

As she pulls up into her driveway, she dials her brothers phone number.

"Alton speaking"

"Hello little brother" She smirks.

"Lucia, what the hell do you want now?"

" Well a little birdie told me that huge wolves are killing livestock in northern Florida. Seems those dogs are acting up."

" Lucia, I told you when father died, I'm not risking my hide to kill more of those mutts. You can since Mason left you."

Her smirk turns into a frown. "Mason has been dead to me since I caught that whore's underwear in his truck and even then, I would still hunt the animals that killed father."

Alton growls, " Father was a menace to everyone and everything."

"How dare you speak like this for the man that gave your life."

" All he has done is try to turn us into mindless savages, mother wouldn't want that from us. She would want us to live out our days worry free and that's all father created for her, worry."

" Fine Alton, if you wish to not join me, then so be it."

She hangs up the phone and nearly crushes it in her hands. The only other living relative of hers doesn't want to join in the hunt. Then so be it, more glory for her. Father would be proud of her to avenge him.

Three days have passed as Lucia was getting everything ready for her departure to the northern part of the state. She got her employees set up to micromanage as she was gone, she got a dog sitter for her Pitbull and got her employees paychecks set up in case she wasn't back in time for payday. Her accountant can handle that. She climbs into her truck, turns it on and heads out for the four-hour drive.
