Following the basic instructions that was given by his spirit grimoire spirit essence, transmitted into his head by the spirit, Li Yan then unanimously turns over the book towards the very first page, which detailing displays his own status, personal information, and spirit abilities.

Spirit Grimoire

1st Spirit Ring - Summon - Yellow Vervet Monkey

"Hmmm..." Li Yan intriguingly thought, whilst scratching his chin in order to exasperate his expression.

Shaking his head a little bit, Li Yan then said so to hinself, "There is no one here to compare my overall stats with, to see whether they are actually good or not. I'm not even sure if this cultivation world even has a way to measure their cultivator's strength into numerical stats and points."

Carrying on with that line of thought, Li Yan thought, 'Judging by the fact that I have the titled 'Genius' displayed within my status, it could only mean that my potential far exceeds the norms to be labelled as a genius by the System.'

'Twin spirit essence?' His observative eyes then landed on the spirit essence section of the status screen.

"I have twin spirit essence; one is the spirit grimoire that I'm currently holding, and the other one is a spirit cloth..." Li Yan could instinctively feel the presence of another spirit essence residing withinside his body, resting within his left hand.

"Spirit cloth, come out." Li Yan issued an order, calling out forth the spirit cloth at his will.

The white spirit mark, different to the silver spirit mark on his right hand, began to light up and an ordinary plain white piece of cloth then appears over his left hand.

"Well, that's a bit of a let down. A lack lustre performance when compare it to the spirit grimoire performance." Li Yan said, whilst remembering the awesome light show that is released off of the spirit grimoire when he first summoned his spirit essence.

'Not everyone can have an already overpowered spirit, possessing two equally powerful spirit essence would just make it almost a smooth sailing.' Li Yan thought, as he then retracted the spirit cloth spirit essence.

"So now lets test out the first spirit ability of my spirit grimoire." Li Yan said, "Summon [Yellow Vervet Monkey]."

Li Yan felt a connection with his spirit grimoire, as the pages within the book begun to flip over, turning towards the page that holds the important information about his first contracted spirit beast [Yellow Vervet Monkey].

A flash of light, and a white ten years old spirit ring then materialises above the written page, which quickly transforms into a ball of light shooting out from the ten years old white spirit ring.

The ball of light then gradually grew in size, taking the shape of an adolescent yellow vervet monkey; its legs and arms sprouted out first, then the head and external limb (tail), taking on the shape of a primate walking on all four.

Signs of life then sprouted from the newly summoned yellow vervet monkey's eyes. It showed signs of intelligence, having become quite curious about its surroundings.

however, when its pair of revivify eyes landed on the tracks of blood stain on the ground, it then became extremely agitated, almost like it was re-going through a traumatic experience, but it had no memory of the entire incident. Only the feelings and emotions of its own mother before she died is carried on over.

This serves to further perplexed the yellow vervet monkey, as it felt extremely conflicted and unnerving not being able to understand these feelings it felt.

Feelings without an ounce of context can be extremely misleading, if you don't know what is happening in order to trigger that specific emotion. So Li Yan indeed felt sympathy towards the young adolescent yellow vervet monkey, a young monkey forced to grow up with a parent figure, its only family that it now has left is him and the yellow vervet monkey.

Li Yan then hurriedly walks on over towards the still agitated yellow vervet monkey, and placed his hand over the yellow vervet monkey's shoulder.

He said, "There's no need to feel sad. Your mother left you in my hands, she indeed gave up her life in exchanged for yours. So we can at least be considered family right."

The adolescent yellow vervet monkey may have been forced to grow up by the cruel world, robbed of its own childhood and mother.

The words spoken out from Li Yan's mouth may have seems a bit immiscible to yellow vervet monkey, since it does not possess high enough intelligence in order to converse at all in human language, but the warmth feeling traverse within Li Yan's words are true.

The yellow vervet monkey then warmly smiles back in return, having some what truly understand the message that Li Yan is trying to get across.

"Since you are a monkey. I will name you Sun Wu. It's short for Sun Wukong, named after the monkey king, a character from the book Journey to the West." Li Yan said, as he named the yellow vervet monkey.

[You have successfully named Yellow Vervet Monkey, Sun Wu! Sun Wu's status is updated!]

Sun Wu is very happy at receiving a name, that is proof of his new identity. Though his past self isn't forgotten, the identity given birth by his mother, it's being replaced by another.

'Oh, it seems that Sun Wu's status screen has been updated. I wonder if there is anything different about his status, besides his name changing.' Li Yan thought so to himself, as he then proceeded to flip through the pages of the spirit grimoire.

Li Yan turned over the page toward Sun Wu's page, displaying the creature's status screen.

Stone Breaking Fist

'It would seem that Sun Wu's overall stats are indeed better than mine, considering that I'm still a child and Sun Wu is nearly a fully grown spirit beast. Spirit beast then to mature and grow much faster than humans due to the nature and danger of their surroundings. So they need to grow up fast and become stronger in order to survive.' Li Yan's first thought upon taking a glance at Sun Wu's status.

His eyes then scrolls across the spirit skill section of Sun Wu's status screen, displayed at the bottom of the page.

'Stone Breaking Fist, huh. Is that the yellow vervet monkey's innate spirit skill that all yellow vervet monkeys are born with.' Li Yan assumes, without taking a further look at the skill.

"Sun Wu, use the spirit skill stone breaking fist on a nearby tree. I want to see how your skill is, before outright testing it in live combat." Li Yan instructed Sun Wu to use his spirit move in which he adhere to.

Sun Wu then listens to the commands that was given by his master, having found a sturdy looking nearby tree. Sun Wu then gets into a fighting stance, almost like he was about to throw a punch.

Sun Wu's body then began to pulsate with spiritual energy, as the excess spiritual energy is then channels into Sun Wu's right arm, strengthening it beyond the ordinary boundaries. It would allow Sun Wu to exert more physical strength into his right arm, for when he is about to punch a target, an explosive released in momentary power which would certainly obliterate the target.

Sun Wu taking a right foot step back, standing sideways, with his head over his shoulder, as he then pulls his right arm back in preparation for the strike.

When Sun Wu has completed his stance, his breathing naturally slows down for sec, almost flint setting off a spark. Sun Wu then throws a short punch toward a nearby tree.

The punch was extremely fast, slightly blurred, and leaving behind a shapeless trail at how fast it is travelling at. The punch then cuts straight through the air, but didn't produced any sounds until the fist connects with the trunk of the tree.

*Blam*

It sounded like a stick of dynamite being set off, as Sun Wu's fist suddenly struct the tree, and it left quite a sight to behold. Tree trunk then caved in slightly, leaving a deep crater surroundings the punched fist, with splinters and sharp wood debris spreading outwards from the crater.

"Oohhh..." Li Yan said so with a surprised look on his face, like an extremely child excited, he was being giddy.

'The power behind that punch is seriously strong enough to completely obliterate an ordinary adult human's head, or possibly caused the human skull to caved in and crushes the brain of the target.' Li Yan thought so to himself.

'The stone breaking fist consumes spiritual power in order to strengthen the user's bone, flesh, muscles within the arm and fist, thereby allowing the user to exert an overwhelmingly short momentarily burst of power, without much consequences to the host's body.' Li Yan thought.

He then continues, 'At the rate of spiritual energy consumption, Sun Wu could only used the stone breaking fist around six to seven times. It's not alot, but it can be used a multiple number of times in fight.'

The loud noise caused by Sun Wu's stone breaking fist striking the tree trunk has indeed attracted some unwanted attention from nearby visitors and inhabitants of the great Stardou Forest.

Upon hearing the sound of the stone breaking fist impacting the tree, a group of three individuals that were within the facility heard the sound, as they hurriedly rushes over toward Li Yan & Sun Wu's location.

The three individuals were kids, roughly around the same age or so, the difference would be minor considering that they were all teenagers.

On the left, a young lady, appearing to be around 15-16 years old. Her very long black hair was tied into a ponytail behind her back, her body dressed in a light pinkish attire that expresses her delicate feminine charms.

On the right is a tall slender youth, he has purple short hair that radiates a jewel like glow, and a beautiful pair of amethyst-coloured eyes.

And in the middle was a child, a year or two order than Li Yan. The boy has a moderately well-shaped stature, short blue hair neat and tidy, with a petite handsome face that reveals an unswerving determination, far exceeding what a person his age should be able to muster.

These three individuals are Tang Ya, Huo Yuhao, and Beibei.
