"You better! Now go before you change your mind," Faye urged with a playful wink.
With a final wave, Grace hurried out, her heart racing with anticipation at the thought of seeing Jace again.
She was so focused on getting to the gate that she didn't notice the pair of watchful eyes fixed on her from a secluded corner of the garden.
"Look at her," Rufus sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "Strutting off happily to meet a man. I told you she wasn't as innocent as she pretends to be."
Beside him, Belinda frowned in confusion. "Rufus, that's Grace you're talking about. She's always been decent and responsible. Maybe she's just meeting a friend."
