A Hufflepuff can’t be with a Slytherin…right?

There were a few new students entering the beloved magical school of Hogwarts in the second semester of the year.

The school staff immediately held a whole school meeting for student sorting.

One of these new students happen to be Hermione's younger sister, Y/n Granger.

Hermione knew her sister would be joining her at Hogwarts this year, their parents had only gotten Y/n's enrollment letter. Hermione is eager to see which house her beloved little sister gets sorted into. The Great Hall was full of excited Hogwarts students already sitting at their sorted houses Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The Golden Trio were patiently waiting to find out what house Y/n would end up in, they assumed Y/n would be a Griffindor like them.

Professor Dumbledore hushes the hall and lets the sorting hat speak.

"A Granger I see, you are not a Griffindor…hmmm"

You mumble under your breath "Please not Slytherin.."

Sorting hat "Not Slytherin? Hmmm very well …Hufflepuff!"

Hermione looked at her friends in disbelief and then thought "Well that does make quite a lot of sense I suppose. At least she didn't end up in the house with that horrible Malfoy" She sighed.

Ron notices Hermione looking a little concerned so he puts his hand over hers.

Harry looks over at Y/n and says "Uh Hermione don't look now but it seems Malfoy is staring at your sister." he looks over sneakily.

Y/n got the attention of Draco Malfoy almost instantly. As soon as she entered The Great Hall he looked at her and analysed her silently.

Draco thinks to himself "Well well, there's another Granger in this school. And she won't have her precious sister looking after her" he chuckles.

As you make your way to the Hufflepuff tables, you run into a very attractive guy, he gives you a welcoming smiles as you sit down. "Welcome to the Hufflepuff Houss Y/n Granger, I'm Cedric Diggory."

You blush a little and say softly back with a smile "Hello Cerdic Diggory, it's a pleasure to meet you." You do a little bow.

Cedric introduces you to all his friends and you slowly feel as if you are fitting in.

While Y/n was speaking with her newly found friends, Hermione tapped Y/n's shoulder and said in a joyful tone "Welcome to Hogwarts little sis."

Y/n gets up and hugs Hermione "I missed you so much Hermione!" softly smiles and tears in her eyes.

Hermione hugs Y/n back and says "I missed you too little sis. I missed you too." with some tears forming in her eyes as well.

The Hufflepuffs all watched in awe as the sisters reunited, they were also surprised at this new side that Hermione was showing.

~Afterward around the evening when dinner was about to be served~

Y/n was finally in her new uniform and she couldn't wait to show it to her new friends and sister. While Y/n was walking to The Great Hall she noticed that someone was waiting for her outside the dorms. She would have expected Hermione or Cerdic to be waiting for her but no, it was Ron and Harry which made you feel a little confused.

"Blamme Y/n the uniform looks great on you" said Ron scratching the back of his head.

Harry added "You must have been waiting all day for the chance to wear your uniform, it suits you very well Y/n" he smiled at you.

Y/n looks down at the ground and says "Thank you two very much for saying that. I just hope my sister thinks I look elegant just like her" you say while fidgeting with your hands.

~At The Great Hall~

Hermione is sitting on her reading a book while eating in small pieces. Harry and Ron walk into the hall with Y/n and sit next to Hermione.

Y/n hugs Hermione from behind "Hello my beloved sister!" you giggle and smile.

Hermione chuckles a little "Hello dearest sister, have a seat" You nod and sit down next to your sister.

Ron says "Y/n how are you finding Hogwarts so far?"

You look over at him and say "I love Hogwarts ! It's so magical! I'm starting to learn more about magic and it's so exciting!" you smile brightly.

As they all sat down and ate, they all began talking about how eventful the next few weeks would be.

The other Hufflepuffs are passing positive notes to one another and they make one for Y/n Granger, when they finish passing it around they put it into an envelope.

Y/n says see you later to her sister and friends, then goes to the Hufflepuff table to talk with her dorm mates. As you sit down Cedric gives you a soft smile and an envelope, you look at the envelope a little confused.
