35 A History of Survival

"There's the princess!" someone says.

"Run!" Baldo screams.

And they run.

But it is too late, for the princess has already been spotted by the enemy. She is the last surviving royal on the island, the Galdonans know so. They will stop at nothing to kill her, to show the world that they have overcome the great tribe of Martha. 

There were five, and then there were three, and then there were two, and now there are three again. 

The three of them run, knowing full well that the direction they are headed for will not be safe. They are headed straight for the flames, straight for the inferno. But they cannot turn back, for hot on their heels are the enemies' swords.
