A Hired Husband For The Billionairess

Olivia is who you'd describe as rich, beautiful and arrogant. She considered herself a woman of worth who knew what she wanted and believed that there was nothing she couldn't get with money. When Olivia is almost cornered by her parents into accepting an arranged marriage, she desperately thinks of a way out and what better way out than using what she had the most to get her way? Scott had a goal but it most definitely had nothing to do with the wealth of the beautiful Olivia. When Scott Richardson is offered a deal to be his long time crush's husband, he wastes no time in accepting her proposal but unlike Olivia's belief that Scott only wanted her money, what Scott really wanted was to win the heart of the woman he loved by any means necessary. Will Scott finally break through the walls of the arrogant and unfriendly Olivia Octavio or will he simply remain as her hired husband for as long as she wished?

Chapter 12

Ciara gasped. "Oh my goodness. Are you serious right now?" she asked and Olivia nodded her head.

"You really have to keep it a secret Ciara cause if my parents find out, they'll literally murder me and Scott will get in trouble as well. He and I have decided to get along with each other and pretend to be in love for a year and six months and after that we will come up with a good enough reason why we had to get a divorce," she explained and Ciara is slightly confused and at the same time surprised.

"Can I ask you something Liv?" she asked.

"What is it you want to ask and why do you have that serious look on your face? Whatever it is, don't be weird," Olivia warned jokingly.

"You may find this weird but I still gotta ask. Why do you want to divorce him after a year and six months? I mean, by the time your contract is almost over, you'll be on the verge of turning thirty-one and I'm just wondering, don't you want to be married at all and be with someone even if it's not forever? I know you mentioned how draining it is but don't you still have plans of having your own family and your own kids?" Ciara asked carefully, trying not to upset Olivia in any way.

"You know if you don't like Scott, why bother getting married to him when you know you will eventually hate it and from what I've read in books and seen in movies, contract marriages never end well and one party eventually ends up getting hurt," she added.

Olivia groaned. "For goodness sake Ciara, how can you be so extra about everything? How did you even think that far? Do I look like a character in a book or a movie to you? Do you think I can easily be moved by anything? If anyone would get hurt eventually, then it's most definitely not me. So do me a favour and get over your weird thoughts," she responded, dismissing Ciara completely.

"Well, that's what you'll say till it finally hits you later on. Anyways, let's put the fake marriage aside, do you have any intentions of actually getting married for real later on? Cause I mean, surely, you will want to get married later, right?" Ciara asked.

"You know what Ciara, no more questions about me. You have asked me more than enough questions today and I honestly don't have the energy to give you any more explanations. In fact, I think it's better you focus more on yourself instead of worrying about my marriage. When do you also plan on getting married? I mean, after all we are both the same age and you have been in a relationship with that dude you're with for quite a long time now," Olivia mentioned, changing the topic.

"To be honest with you sweetie, I have absolutely no idea where we both stand at the moment. We're not fighting or anything and we still see each other and have fun but lately, he seeming a lot more distant and dismissive. Like, he doesn't even remember the slightest things concerning us and everything with him suddenly feels weird," Ciara admitted truthfully and Olivia shook her head.

"You see sweetie, this is exactly why I tell you that relationships shouldn't be anyone's priority. It's really not worth the time and the effort. Take a look at your situation now, you have been dating this guy for five years now and yet, nothing much has come out of it. I mean, asides the sexual pleasure and all, there's nothing else to write home about. Now, I don't wanna sound harsh or inconsiderate but I think it's high time you leave him and focus on things that are beneficial to you. I mean, focus on you and you alone babe," she encouraged and Ciara scowled.

"You're not helping me feel any better Olivia and instead of advising that I leave him, you should be encouraging and comforting me. You know, it's so funny how I tolerate you when I should just kick your ass sometimes," Ciara scoffed.

"Comforting you? Why? Did you lose someone? You know what, I'll save comforting you for when you successfully end things with him and choose yourself over that toxic lockdown you call love. If you really want to find peace baby girl, you'll have to stop using your heart and your hormones to think and start using your head instead cause trust me, your heart will only encourage you to keep hurting yourself," Olivia responded.

"Anyways sweetie, I have a lot of work to do. As you know, I'm a very busy woman and I really have to head over to a construction site as soon as possible. Thanks for coming to see me Ciara and trust me, I really appreciate the unsolicited advice I got from you today and I also learnt quite a lot from you as well. I can assure you that I'll do everything in my power not to turn out like you," Olivia joked and Ciara rolled her eyes at her.

"You are a horrible friend Liv. You had better block my number bitch or I'll do it myself," Ciara hissed and Olivia chuckled wickedly as she enjoyed getting on Ciara's nerves.

"Fuck you Olivia Angelina Octavos!" Ciara yelled as she walked out of Olivia's office.

"Love you too sweetie!" Olivia yelled back, with a short laugh.
