Chapter 4

Cameron looked around the area with bore dumbed eyes. Katherine had a wondrous look as she listened to a lady wearing a cargo short explain the fortress.

Cameron - Wore a [lime colored baggy jean] [with a grey T-shirt] and a [red bomber jacket.]

Katherine - Wore a [wide light blue jean], with a [white jersey.]

"And then the king sealed the beast up forever, in this very here fortress. They say if you listen closely you can still hear the cry of the beast in the pit."

Cameron leans closer to Katherine, "That's not true is it now?"

"Who is to say; we weren't there after all."

"Creepy."

The tour group continued forward into the fortress where they found themselves amazed by how the old structure was still holding together. The tour guide pointed out special details about the fortress which made them fall into momentary shock.

Later they stopped at one of the fortresses most famous structures.

"The chamber."

Everyone looked at the circular seal with encrypted puzzle pieces in amazement.

"This chamber can only be opened by the smartest of minds. Nobody who has an IQ below 1000 can open it."

"It doesn't seem that complicated." Katherine said to herself.

"Little girl in the white jersey, did you just say you can solve this?" The tour guide raised a question to Katherine.

"Probably, if I tri-."

A scoff sounds, "-No you can't."

"Excuse me?"

"I'm just saying you won't be able to solve it."

"How are you so sure of that anyway?"

"Well for one you're still a teenager, and secondly do I even have to point it out."

"Point what out?" Katherine asked building up her anger.

"You don't look like someone with an IQ above 1000 or 500 at best."

The tour group gasped, some were shocked, some were laughing and some were just disappointed.

"I think she just called you an idiot." Cameron whispered.

"Wow. Did you seriously need your friend to help you out with that one."

"Yes that's exactly what we are." Cameron lied.

"Come on everyone." The guide instructed. "Let's head to the next attraction."

Everyone reluctantly started walking, giving small glares at Katherine who was frozen in anger. Cameron placed his palm on his sisters shoulder and nodded before following the tour group.

Katherine grabbed Cameron by the arm stopping him in his tracks.

"Hey! They're leaving without us dumpshit."

"Who cares." Katherine scoffed turning to the chamber. "We have way more important matters to solve."

"Wh- come on, you can't be serious. I don't know if this is really necessary."

"Whatever I'm gonna do it."

Katherine went on forward and moved a plate to a place she thought the plate would fit, but it didn't. She moved the plate back and searched for another spot, she placed it in a perfect spot, but failed to realize that she now couldn't move the other plate this made her pull the plate back to the start. Cameron took a seat on the ground and sighed himself to sleep.

➜ [ Moments Later ]

Katherine pulled the plate back and added it in a spot where it fit. She traced her hands around another plate and moved it up, but the plate didn't fit. She pulled the plate out and noticed a huge mistake that made her move almost all the plates out of their spots.

"You're taking way too long." Cameron groaned. "If brain is what you need for this then that I can give!"

"Wai-"

A large green flash covered the area.

"I can do this myself."

Static-Brain cackled, "You baffle me, truthfully you do. But having seen you current efforts to complete such a point forward task it... Unveils to me that you are unable to complete it alone."

"It's not easy you know."

Static-Brain crabbed forward and placed his claw in front of Katherine and moved her back.

"Simpleton."

➜ [ Moments Later ]

Static-Brain had a scowl on his face as he tried to calculate the right order for the plates. After a second or so he made his move and moved the plate to the left, but then paused noticing that there was another plate there already.

"Impossible. Why is this little game so challenging."

Katherine squinched her eyes glaring daggers at the puzzle.

"How in earths tongue can I find the correct position for this one little plate."

"Wait a minute dumpshit."

Katherine walked closer to the puzzle.

"This is amusing, go ahead."

"There is something there. But all these plates are so unorganized that they are covering it."

Katherine started moving all the plates away from the center. Instead of building into it she started building away from it. After a couple of minutes the middle point was open. She touched the center and it opened up.

The entire chamber built back revealing what was inside... A mask inside a glass beaker.

"No wonder I wasn't able to solve it, the task was never meant to be completed. I know Static-Brain is smarter than this, I need to start training with him more."

Static-Brain and Katherine slowly walked forward into the chamber. The two turned back just in case the chamber closed, but it did not so they carried on forward. Katherine now closer to the mask was in shock.

"Amazing. This is truly-" A red flash shined and Cameron reverted to himself. "-Cool, its like the movies."

"Yeah."

Katherine moved her arm forward so her hand could touch the mask, but before she could reach, the mask was pulled out of her reach. Cameron looked up and the instructor stood before them.

"So you were able to open the chamber. Good."

The guide turned away and started running off with the mask. Katherine turned to Cameron who nodded, the two both chased after the guide.

The guide being a somewhat professional on the place was able to run through it with ease. She knew all the turns and all the crosses, she stayed on pace and managed at points to slow the children down.

"0verspeed would be really good right about now."

"You don't think I know that!"

The guide stopped and turned around, she pressed a button on the wall and a small gap opened up. She used the vines and swung across the gap and continued running off.

Cameron and Katherine leaped for the vines and the momentum from the leap threw them on the other side. Katherine helped up Cameron who was taking a bit long to get up and then the two continued their chase.

The instructor arrived at a three way corridor. She turned to the children who were coming up and smirked.

"Why are you stealing that artifact!"

"This mask belongs to nobody, but the CULT."

The guide ran into the first corridor and the teens with decreased pace, followed.

The corridor was dark, neither of them could see a thing, but the entire way was straight so seeing wasn't needed.

A small light flashed at the end of the tunnel this made the teens pick up their pace. Katherine was the first to push through the light, but quickly stopped when she noticed a pit in front of her. Cameron who was running behind Katherine accidentally bumped into her and the two both fell into the pit.

Katherine quickly grabbed onto a small ledge and Cameron hung onto Katherine's leg.

"Damnit." Cameron groaned.

"Fuck. Fuck. This is all my fault, I'm so sorry Cammy."

"You got that right Kathy. If you weren't so egotistical we wouldn't be here right now."

"I'm not egotistical."

"Then why the hell were you so eager to prove to that stupid tour guide that you are smart."

"Because nobody thinks it. I'm not just diva you know."

"I know you're are a genius, and who cares if they don't think it."

"You're not much of a pep talker huh?"

"I'm hanging for my life!" Cameron exclaimed, "Fuck pep talking!"

Katherine lightly smiles, "Where's the watch at now?"

"I think it should still be-" Cameron squinched his eyes to get a better view, "-Green! It's green!"

Cameron moved his free arm up to the watch, but was only able to reach up to the buttons that popped up the dial before almost losing grip.

"Katherine I'm gonna need you to kick the top part of my dial as hard as hard is to you."

Katherine nodded and after struggling a bit to find Camerons wrist she flanked her foot back and slammed it hard onto the dial pushing it into place.

"You feel light... Don't tell me your Micromech?!"

Katherine to a small peak down to Cameron.

"You're like a Mole?!"

"A mole? Oh- OH! WAIT! OHMYGOD! NEW- NO ALIEN NUMBER SEVEN REVEALED! Now I only have one more left according to Paradox."

DESIGN

"Climb to the top of my head and dig a tunnel for us, this ground is old so it won't take time."

Cameron climbed to the top of Katherine and started scratching through the side. He broke in a dent that would fit him alone, he made his way into the dent and was about to increase, starting from the right when a clone broke from him going to the left.

"Clones?! This guy is now one of my favorite transformations. I wonder if the other guy is there as well."

The two aliens went to work on the tunnel and in record time of three minutes they were able to successfully create a big enough tunnel for Katherine.

➜ [ Moments Later ]

Katherine and Cameron were sitting inside the Sienna with burgers on their laps. Marcy drove the Sienna while drinking her cool-drink.

"Thanks for that moment Cam."

Cameron nods slightly, while scanning through his aliens, "I swear, you can see that this is an alien device, because when I press slowly it moves quick, when I press fast it moves at a decent pace, but still quick."

"You're looking for the new guy am I right?"

"Yeah, he should be here somewhere. I have like what seven aliens and I still find it difficult to find this one guy- oh I got him. So the professor was right, there are eight, I should've know since I remember seeing two silhouettes that I've never seen before back when it was working correctly, but now since it's glitching, I think the silhouettes of those aliens are missing or something."

"So what's his name?"

"I was thinking something like; Duplicate."

"Duplicate. That would work, but isn't he like a goof ball or something?"

"Yeah. How about Double-up."

"Multiply."

"More-than-one."

"Copycat."

"This is fun. How about Mimick?" Marcy suggested.

"Goofy, short and perfect. Mimick it is." Cameron agreed.

"I feel like the other names felt more suitable for the alien."

"Ditto. but I liked Marcy's one, because you didn't guess it you know."

"Funny.

One more to go. All eight original aliens will be revealed soon
