Just trying to enjoy school

Katherine's mother stopped near the pavement of the Lenardo Residential home. Katherine wearing a blue top with white tights stepped out with a sigh. Cameron wearing his classic black shirt with blue jeans stepped out from the other side with a smile on his face.

"Welcome to Middleton!" Cameron exclaimed.

"I hate this place you know, last time I was here I had to deal with-"

"-Katherine!" Celec rushed to her step daughter, "This is such a wonderful- no this is an amazing moment."

"Yes it is." Katherine's mother said from inside the car. "I leave you guys now."

Katherine's mother started her car and drove off. Katherine sighed once more as she watched her mother leave.

"Are you excited to finally go to the same school as your favourite brother?"

"My honest answer to that is a strong no, but I know Ruby will be there and she's a jolly fellow so I'll have to try and keep a happy face."

"I wouldn't say she currently is, nowadays she's been very... How do I say? Not the best sense of company."

Katherine and Cameron made their way into the school grounds way before the bell had an opportunity to ring. Katherine wasn't the type of person to come late to school since she isn't keen on missing out on drama.

The school day started and Katherine was switched into her class.

A couple of subjects went by and recess started. Some of the students chose to spend recess outside; while some Katherine in this case chose to spend recess indoors.

"Cameron told me that you were not in the best moods nowadays, that's why you being so energized is surprising."

"Towards him I'm not in the best mood, I'm kinda mad at him."

"You? Mad at Cameron? How hard did he have to fuck up to get that right?"

"He stood up one of my friends."

"One of your friends liked Cameron? Somebody likes Cameron?"

Maddie throws her arm around Katherine's shoulders, "Believe it or not, your brother is a catch."

"Excuse me who are you?"

"That's Madeline or Maddie for short."

"Oh I'm guessing she's one of your friends?"

"Ruby and I are buddies. We go way back."

"It's a working friendship."

Abbie ran up to the three girls breathing hard. She looked up at the three and waved.

"Léla and Jace are finally having it, their finally having their argument and we need to back Léla up."

Katherine, Ruby, Maddie and Abbie ran to the crowd of students surrounding Léla and Jace. The four squeezed through the crowd and made their way into the center.

"So I'm automatically not good enough!" Jace exclaimed.

"That's not what I mean-"

"-it's what you're saying, your trying to throw me away because you think I'm not good enough to be with you."

"Jace the only reason I don't-"

"-you're such a fuckhead you know. I thought you were different, but your just like everyone else."

"What is that even supposed to-"

"-I can't believe your turning me down, because you developed some feelings for some black skinned fuck boy-"

"-shut up please." Katherine took a step in, "I'm noticing that you're being obsessively rude right now to-"

"-Excuse me, but who the hell are you?"

Katherine tries her best to take a breath, "Let's try this again. I'm noticing that you're being obsessively rude right now to this girl for no absolute reason-"

"-the reason is because she's a hoe! She leads you on and then moves over to the next guy."

Katherines holds quiet for awhile before speaking, "I'm sure you just saw the wrong si-"

"-i know exactly what i-"

"-StoP!" Katherine exclaimed stomping her foot down. Jace felt a surge of force push his body back away from her which got the crowd cheering.

"Leave her alone. She's not into you dumbass, and the sooner you except that the sooner your l-"

"-RUN!"

The crowd broke apart. Burn Out was sent flying into the school building. The fire alien quickly picked himself up and exploded through the dent he made.

"What the hell is going on?"

Katherine and the rest of the students went to the dent Burn out created and watched as the fire alien battled against some sort of mutated fly that was trying to enter the school for some reason.

"Listen here buddy, but I'm not really liking the idea of you messing up my first day back."

Burn Out went in to punch the abomination, but it flew over the attack. Burn Out caught himself with a burst of flames to the ground that shot him straight through the abomination.

The mutant fly exploded the second Burn Out flew out of it. The fire alien shot far in the sky disappearing from everyones field of vision.

Cameron leaned against the building typing on his phone. Katherine with the rest of the group of girls walked out from the building. Léla took a small glance in the direction of Cameron who was paying attention to his phone. Katherine waved off from the group and made her way to her brother.

"That was crazy right?"

Still looking at his phone he nods, "Yeah."

"What are you up to Dumpshit?"

"I'm trying to get a hold of my friend Aiden, that boy you met at the park after the thing with Dix."

"Oh that kid, he is such a weirdo."

"Yeah and he's showing that, by not answering my texts or calls."

"Bluetick?"

"More like one tick. Oh and that bug I fought, it looked a lot like the mutants we went up against last holiday."

"I noticed. It was the same abomination as those things."

"Should we look into that?"

"I don't think it really matters, maybe it was just one that found a way to escape."

[] Meanwhile []

The same pale masked man from before stood above the schooling building.

"My mutants are working well master." He said over the phone. "Now I'll be taking my leave, I still have that mission with those four masks."
