Chapter Four/ Villain Turn

Today was nothing like what I was use to, me spending my time in luxury with Gaurding Dianna. Today I woke up cold for the last two days, I am heading to the east Human Village to see if they were indeed hurting non humans for no reason. It was almost a week from the winters months and you really could feel it in the air. Anyways, when I got to the village I saw it was a human settlement. I noticed the villagers saw me and some of them came to greet me. I kept my gaurd up but I was friendly with them when they began to talk to me. "Hello sir, I sse you're a traveler, would you like a warm drink on this cold day?" The old man asked me and I dropped my pack when I grabbed it from him,"Sure" I said smelling the cup first then I purified the cup without them seeing me cast my little spell. "Thank you,I've been traveling for a couple days and I had no idea it was going to be this cold yet." I said to them and the old man smiled at me, right when I handed him the cup I heard screaming in the distance.

I then watched people scramble in the same direction, towards the woods the scream came from and that were everyone was going. I picked up my pack and I ran with them trying to see what was going on. When I got to the woods I saw everyone was attacking a Spiderling who was curled up in a ball trying to protect herself. She felt my precents and looked right at me with fear in her eyes, she was young and she wasn't fighting back. Rocks and dirt was what they threw at first then it got worse the stronger humans had spears ready to kill this girl. I ran in between the ones with spears and I broke one with my fist. "Stop hurting this girl, she's not even fighting back or attacking anyone." I yelled and everyone stopped for a moment, then I got hit my a stray rock to the face.

I felt the blood from the rock run down my face and whipped it off with my left hand. I clenched my hand then I looked at the crowd, "you'll regret that." I said and I saw who threw the rock, the group then pushed the man behind the crowd saying a line from a hero from the movies. "You'll have to go through me to hurt that man." Before the crowd could even blink I teleaported infront of the old man and I picked him up off the ground letting my Ora leak out. "Your a monster just like that thing behind you, you will die and end up in hell just like she will." The man said to me and I let him down, "harsh words for someone attacking a little Non human girl, I might be going to hell one day but you'll be there before me." Then I looked right at the rest of the crowd then back at the village and I made up my mind that might make me a villain for my fellow Humans.

"Since I'm a gaurd for the Northern Demon Kingdom, I guess it's my job to punish those in our boarders for killing and hurting our people. I teleaported next to the spider and put her right behind me as I casted a spell of both Fire and Ice. The biggest one I've ever made and aimed at them and the village, I released my energy and ora to the max and I let the shot go. "You don't need to be here if you're going to harm this land with your fears." I said and everyone fell to the ground as everything was consumed by the spell and everyone died, I even destoyed the whole Village and nothing was left. I turned to the spider and she was just awake enough to see how I destroyed the village and her attackers. I leaned down to her and I saw how she was hurt, I then asked her, "I can heal you but you'll need to come with me miss." I saw her smile a bit then she passed out, I picked her up and I carried her home.

To my suprise she felt a bit more Human than spider, her skin was soft, she was heavy but not heavy enough to to let go. I used a body enhancement spell and I ran back home. This spell uses alot of my energy and Magic reserves so I never use it unless i need to get somewhere fast. It look almost an hour till I got to the front gate and Leera saw me walk in looking tired from the trip. She then saw the spider in my arms and I told her, "We need to get her into a room and heal her wounds, those humans' did this to her, please hurry." Leera jumped into action yelling orders and had a couple of the other goblins take her to the clean room. I took a potion that I was given by a merchant a couple months back for restoring my energy and magic by half.

The goblins were having a hard time getting her on the bed so I picked her up and I placed her in the bed. I sat in the chair after I started the healing I could on the Spider then I watched her just in case. After about an hour of sitting here I heard a noise outside the Manor, Then I jumped up from the chair when I saw it was Dianna from the window. She came into the room a moment later and she saw the Spiderling in the bed with wraps on her head. "I'm guessing this is the hurt spiderling that Leera told me about when I heard you came back in a hurry?" She said to me and I shook my head, "Yes" I then told her, "She was hurt by that village in the east, the one with all the humans." I watched her close the door so only she could hear what happened when I saved this girl from the humans.

" I was in that village to see if the rumors were true about them attacking and killing non humans were true. I watched them attack this one and she tried to run from them but she couldn't after she was pelted by rocks and stones." I paused for a moment for Dianna to ask what I did to the village, she saw my expression was still and she placed her hand on my right shoulder. "Jacob, what did you do to that village of humans, you seem darker." I turned away from her then I said, "I killed every last human with my power, not even a building was left when I picked her up and brought her here." Dianna looked horrified with me telling her that then she said. "Oh my goddess are you ok after doing that?" She asked me and I smiled at her and said, "I'm fine, it's not there my people," I heard Dianna sighed and she shook her head in disappoinment. "Jacob, Don't fall down that dark path, I love the hero side of you, everyone I know does."

A day later, I was making some food for everyone, it was early morning and I still had some vacation time left. I had some food left over so I grabbed a plate for the spider girl upstairs, I came into the bedroom with the spider in it and she was just waking up. She noticed how nice the room was then she saw me when I fully opened the door. She freaked out yelling, "No it's a Human, stay away from me!" She screamed louder and tried to go out the window but stopped when I yelled, "Miss stop I'm not going to hurt you, you're safe here! I brought you here after those humans attacked you, you have nothing to fear anymore." She looked at her wounds were healed for the most part, She then came down from the window.

"Well a man dressed in red armor saved me but I passed out from my wounds before I saw his face." She told me and then she took a look at the creast on my clothing that was custom made for me as a gift from Dianna months ago. "You were the person who saved me, but you killed all of those humans' to save me, how..." I stopped her from asking me the question she was going to ask me , "Lets not bring up that part, I was doing my duty, how are your wounds healing?" I asked her and she felt everything to make sure I didn't miss anything then she noticed she was in new clothes. "Did you change my clothes and did you see anything you weren't supposed to?" She asked me and I blushed for a moment knowing what she was asking, "No, my servant Leera did that for me, she been very helpful when it came to healing you yesterday." I told her and she sat down on the edge of the bed, I saw she was more humanoid than she was spider-like. I snapped my focus off of that then I said, "Miss my name is Jacob and I'm a Royal Gaurd to the this Kingdom royal family, What is your name?"

I asked her and she was hesitant to say anything when she heard Gaurd but she smiled at me. "I bet you guard the King since you're human," She said to me and I just smiled at her and then I heard movement right behind me. "He's my personal Guard but I've been giving him a few days off to heal you." Said Dianna snapping at The spider for being a bit rude for that question, you could see Dianna was made with how she was glaring at her. "Dianna, you look beautiful today and is that the perfum in got you?" I asked her and she hit me in the side, she pulled her hand back in pain though and said to me. "Do you have to be that on guard were you almost break my hand on your stomach?" Dianna asked me almost yelling at me, Her current gaurd was laughing a bit till she looked at him and he coughed then looked away.

"Dianna you know my skin is as hard a steel it's not my fault you forget that all the time." The spider girl watched us talk to each other and forgetting about her so then she blurted out, "My name is Spira by the way, I forgot to tell you that before and thank you for saving my life."The spider looked at us, both Dianna and I looked over at her at the same time to see the spider trying to stand up after she was calm. I saw her about to fall so without even thinking I crossed the floor like when I save the girl from the Guild hall and I caught Spira. Dianna knew I was fast but this was the first time she saw it at max speed before. Spira looked up at me and looked into my eyes, "Your eyes are really blue do you know that, but I see a bit of green at the edges." She said out loud, I smiled and I sat her back on the bed. "You should minimize your movements till you get you strenght back, you may fall and break something."

Spira sat further on the bed and then I heard her stomach grumble. "I think she's hungry Jacob?" Dianna said to behind me and I laughed at her a bit, "Can you walk, I can help you walk so you can get something warm to eat but I warn you it's human food." I asked her and she shook her head "Yes" Then she tried to stand up on her own. She took a few steps then she looked at me and took a deep breath. "I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the door sir," She said to me still in pain, I smiled at her then I picked her up and held her in my arms. She was light like before and she was suprised that I would be this bold. "Leera, go and set a couple spots at the table for these two."

Leera ran ahead of us and got everything ready for the little meal, the meal I made before was cold so I would have to make something else. "Your servants are all Goblins, how is that possible?" Spira asked me and I smirked a bit, "Yes technically they're my servants but see them more like Employees rather than servants. They still have rights like workers in shops or other places like that." Spira looked even more confused about who I did things. "He pays them very well and feeds his whole staff atleast once a day with either dinner or breakfest, depending on if he's supposed to be with me early, he also lets them have their rights." Spira looked at me wondering why I did that and then the Guard who was my replacement for the week said. "Jacob here was the summoned one from the Dark Elven Kingdom, he's lifestlye and culture was very different than ours here."

The Guard introduced himself as Bane Yeegar, one of three of Dianna's Gaurd, I was the main one during the week and he was the night Gaurd for her during the week. We've never met because I usally left before he showed up. "Good to finally meet you my fellow Guard, I hope you keep the good work up." I said getting very defensive with the way he carried himself. After we sat at the table when we got to the dinning room, Leera brought in the food I had kept heated for the servants. I then asked her to sit with us while we talked, "It's good to see the spider is awake fully and hungry, She was out for a long time when Jacob brought her home." Leera said to everyone and saw that Spira had a shocked look on her face with that comment.

"Oh stop messing with her Leera, she's been through enough already hasn't she?" I said and Leera laughed a bit, "Yes sir, Spira you should eat the food that Jacob made and get some more rest." She suggested to her, Spira watch Leera eat her own plate then looked at her own, Leera left and went back to her duties. "That Goblin woman and her people sure keep this huge place clean," Dianna said breaking the awkwardness left with Leera joking around. Spira and Bane agreed with her and I said, "I think they work a bit to hard with it just being me in this big Manor." Then Spira asked he question I was waiting for, "Sir could I a place among the Goblins here, I could help with things they can't reach or do, I owe you after you saved me and then took care of me., I must repay my life debt to you." I heard the "Life debt," part and I knew that she wouldn't take no for an answer. "I will take you in, but you must listen to Leera and do your duties she gives you down to the letter." Spira agreed to the terms I set for her and she finished her food.

I had Bane take her back up to her room to rest and Dianna stayed with me, "Jacob you're to nice to people when they plead out." Dianna said mocking me a bit, "No I just know what people who owe life debts will do to honor it. This way I can get someone else to help out around here instead of her risking her own life to settle a debt." I said and Dianna agreed with my reasoning for accepting Spira's plead. "You suprise me with every turn Jacob, with you inteligance and with your kindness," She said right when she left for the Castle, I stopped Bane on his was down and I said to him, "Remember to keep her safe, I can sense your mixed ora." I said to him and I squeezed his arm almost crushing it with my grip so he knew I meant my threat. He went to pull away but he couldn't even slide it out. "If you think if I didn't have a problem taking out a human village imagine what I'd do to someone I couldn't give two shits about."

After that I returned to my daily duties without doing to much, training on my off days and making sure Dianna was safe when she went out to do her duties. Life was so simple for ,me being in this world even though how different it was. Today I am on my way to the castle to take Dianna to a party in the west. The party was for all the Demon Kingdoms, it was a end of the year kind of party and someone guests would be there that wouldn't normally there. I was dressed in a handmade suit made by Spira, who by the way was the best choice I made all year. The suit was just like my armor color wise, with the red and black, I looked like a Prince than I did a Guard or servant of Dianna's, when I was in the lobby of the castle waiting for Dianna I saw some of the servant girls were blushing red when they looked at me.

Then I looked up and I saw Dianna in her new dress walking down the stairs right at me. I was blushing the whole time she walked and then she looked up to see how nice I also looked. We both noticed that we were dressed the same in the colors. "You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," This made her blush with me comment and she responded to my comment with, "You look really good with that suit as well." She then held out her arm and we went to the City or Kingdom that was hosting the party just west of us, it took a few hours so we talked to each other for a bit. The first Kingdom of Raz was where the party was it was the first Demon Kingdom on this continent. After that I didn't know much else about the Royal familes of how the other Kingdoms ran as Nations. I don't know any of the customs but I knew my job and that was first to protect Dianna from anyone who might hurt her.

In secret I casted that spell to monitor everything around us, and when we got to the castle were the party was I was asked to turn in my weapon. "Sir turn that steel in, that sword of your's!" The Guard at the front door said to me. I responded with, "I don't have a weapon on me, I am the weapon." I was trying to be funny about it since I really wasn't carrying anything with me, but when I went to grab my watch in my pocket the gaurd grabbed my hand. "Sir, you don't need to check me I'm weapons free, right Princess Dianna?" I said to Dianna looking at her shaking her head. "You've not had one on you for some time, I think like for the last six months. You though don't need to make their nights harder by making them worry about you." She said sculding me, then she lifted my jacket to show the gaurd that there was no sword or weapons on me.

"Sorry Princess Dianna, this is a standered for everyone here, no Guards are allowed weapons while attending the floor." The guard said checking his hand, Dianna gave him a smug look, "this man here it my plus one as well as my personal guard, He better be treated with more respect from now on." I looked at her confused when she said, "Plus one" and then my mind started to think, "Did she bring me as her date or a way escape from the other Princes' in here?" After that weird and fun moment we were allowed to enter the party and when we reached the top of the stair to go down to the ball room, there was a man doing intros.

"Now Entering, Princess Dianna and her plus one, Jacob Willow Captain of the Royal Gaurd, her personal Castle guard." The man said and everyone turned after hearing that and was staring right at us, I was confused on the title and Dianna saw the look on my face. "Dianna when did I become a Captain?" I asked her and she said, "Oh yeah I forgot to tell you before we left home, Father thought it was high time to rank you up again, he thought the Rank of Captain was acceptable." She looked at me and saw I was even more confused, but I laughed it off and when into the room further. "I hope this night goes by fast, wait." I said turning my head to the right, "What's this feeling, it's familiar to me, who is." I looked around as my eyes focused on my old master and the Commander of the Elven army across the room. Lolita and Tilla were standing next to a couple of Elven Royals, then I said out loud for Dianna to hear, "Oh, Shit!" Dianna heard my voicee tremble a bit when I said that then she saw who I was looking at.

She then said, "why are you worried about them, those are the Guards for the dark Elf Royals tonight." She smiled a bit till they started to walk towards us, With them was King Thange an his daughter who of which I've never met. Lolita crossed her arms when they reached us then Tilla got really close to me. "It's good to see you Commander and it's also great to see you Master Tilla, King Thange I hope your lands are doing well." I said bowing my head to them and Dianna's eyes lit up for a moment seeing me greet them like that. "Dianna these people are the ones that brought me to this world, these two women are the ones who trained me to fight." I said to Dianna introducing them to her, "I've been with the northern Demon Kingdom for the last year." I told Tilla and Lolita, Lolita laughed, " You also got a job guarding on of the most famous Demons in the world." Tilla interupted Lolita stopping her, when She saw Dianna was offended with that comment.

"I'm not that famous, maybe with the older generation but that was a long time ago." Dianna said and it didn't suprise me she was a lot older than me, the lifespan of a Demon was just as long as the Elves. "I see you've become a monster of a human, I mean your power, have you been training ever since you left?" Lolita asked me poking my arm seeing how stiff it was, I smiled at her, "I followed the work out rutine and then I broke that charm I had around my neck, that was tracking me and taking my power." Eveyone didn't notice that I had it off till I said something then the King said something stupid, "Why did you break that to talk to us?" Tilla Jabbed him in the side and pointed out that I had been talking with them the whole time, the King looked more impressed wiht me when she showed him that.

"I broke that thing because I don't like being tracked, it's a bit strange even though you might of done that for my sake." I said to Thange and he appoligized to me for that, saying, "We did that to find you if you were ever died or we lost your life signal. When you destroyed it we thought the worse, but you're alive and that is all that matters." He said looking at Dianna then he asked her, "How is he doing his duties, he was a handful when he was training when he first came to our world." Dianna smirked at him then said, "He's been wonderful, he's befriended everyone he's come across even Goblins that work for him. He has his own home and he's even brought in a Spiderling to work for him, he's been the loyalist Guard, it's been a fast year with him by my side for sure." She said and everyone stared at me for a moment. "He's mentioned before he doesn't care about this worlds humans'. Has he told you about that, with him making friends with non humans was a suprise to me." Tilla was saying to Dianna rambling on like we were long time friends and she thought she knew me like Dianna, as she brought up the months I trained with her before meeting Dianna.

After about an hour od intros and talking with my old friends, dinner started and then the King of the west and his son appeared for a speech. "Everyone, I'd like to welcome everyone to our celebration of the end of the year and the begining of a new year." The King then looked over at me and Dianna, which we were in the back near the big table and he raised a glass of wine up high then added to his speech. "Also from myself and my son we welcome the man who has served and saved Princess Dianna of the north over 15 times in this last year, keep up the good work son. Maybe Dianna will be around to finally get married to a Prince yet."

I watched Dianna get red hot with anger when the King said that, it was plain on her face that she was pissed. Then The King rose a glass to the Elves, "We also welcome the Deligates from the southern Elven Kingdom for joining us, May we all live in peace for years to come." I was feeling my fist was clenching tight with me being getting angry with the Kings little joke towards Dianna, I guess Dianna felt my power rise a bit because she grabbed my hand. For her it was almost to hot to touch, I looked at her then she let go and she got up and walked away. I followed her to the nearest balconey and saw her looking out in the night sky. She was trying to cool her hand from mine burning it a bit but she failing at that. I came up from behind her then I grabbed her and then I grabbed her hand. She went to slap me away but she saw me starting to heal her hand. "Let me heal this for and I'm sorry for burning you back there."

I said to her and she sat oone the edge of the stone railing, I used my water healing to help cool the pain while I worked on her hand. While we were standing not doing anything but healing Dianna expressed why she was upset and why she ran. "For the last one thousand years I've lived a life of wars and peace, both not lasting long like what you read in history books. It's never ending with all the same people ruling both sides, Elf, Demon, Orc, Beastmen and others, war never stays hidden for long. My roll in it was always thrown into my face when people bring up me being famous and it scares me how my new friends might think about me." She looked at me still healing her hand and listening to her.

"I've done some terrible things in my life time, from killing hundreds of people to destroying whole cities. There used to be Human Kingdom's and cities but after the last war broke out they're only a few settlements left and the rest are slaves." I stopped healing her hand for a moment then I stood up and sat next to her. She looked at me and I let her continue, "Since you've been here you've heard people say alot that I'm one of the most famous Demons in the world. You've also noticed that I've been targeted for attacks alot over just this one year, that's because I have a body count that would make a army General blush."

I thought before in silence for a moment then I said to myself, "Well thats war, people have to what they have to do." I watched Dianna turn away from my then she asked, "Why do you hate your own race like you do?" I coughed a bit then I told her why, "In my past experiences the human race with themselves have been disloyal and ruin everything they touch. I can't trust people who are all loyal for money or fame." I said and she looked at her feet for a while, "I"ve hid my past from you and you still like me over them?" She asked me and I grabbed her hands, "Dianna, I would pick you over anyone no matter what you've done in you past. Just look what I did on a whim, you didn't even judge me on what I had to do, why should I judge you?"

I told her and she laughed, "We are both a mess aren't we?" I smiled and I shook my head in agreement, "Yeah but we do good together, don't you think so Dianna?" I asked her and she went to take her hand away but I didn't let her go. "What do you feel when you look at me Dianna?" I asked her and she just said, "I feel love for you, and not as my protector." I looked at her and said back to her, "I feel a warm heart and when your away from me I feel cold, I;m not sure if it's love." Dianna looked sad with the last part then I gave her a tight hug, "Why do you hug me if you don't love me the way I love you?" Dianna asked me and I pulled away for a moment, then I told her. "Love for me is complicated but with you it might be easier to obtain."

Later on the way home afterthe party I had Dianna sleeping on my shoulder. She felt warm and weightless like a little bird on my shoulder, I covered her with my coat to keep her warm. "Driver stop at my place for the night, it's getting to late for everyone and we all need our sleep." I ordered him and he shook his head "Yes" and we went right to my Manor. When we got there I saw that both Leera and Spira were up waiting for me to get home. They came out and took care of the horse and carriage, the driver was taken to a guest room and I carried Dianna to mine and I covered her up I went to the kitchen. I grabbed a glass of water, there in the corner I saw Spira was watching me. She had something on her mind so I offered her a glass of her own. "Master, I must confess I'm begining to fall for you, for the way how kind you are to everyone."

She then kissed my forehead then I watched her leave and I said to myself, "Great now I'm begining to start a harem?" I was making fun of myself for a moment, who would I choose if I had to, knowing damn well who my heart belongs to. That night when I finally went to sleep I slept till noon or mid day and when I noticed no one was by my side but for a note I got up quick. I grabbed it and read it quick then I rushed down stairs. I bolted down the stairs and I teleaported infront of Dianna's carriage, the horses freaked out till I grabbed them and Dianna stepped out the carriage, she looked up set but relieved I chased after her. "I heard you talking with Spira last night, I went to close the window and I thought she was talking to the air but you said something." I stopped her from continuing and told her, "I don't have those feelings for her and I feel like she was messing with me more than confessing, I have only love for you Dianna and it only took me till this little letter to real realize it. I can't see myself without you in my life Dianna or by my side."

i said to her then she asked me if I loved Spira too, but I told her. "Not like I love you, she's more like a little sister and I would protect her, but thats all I feel for her, you are my one and only." Dianna looked behind me and saw Spira was standing there. "He's my master, I love him as just that, he's has eyes only for you and I accept that my Lady." Dianna scanned me with her eyes to see if I was lying but she I was telling her my full truth, She put her lips by my ear then she said. "Meet me on the roof where we met for the first time," I smiled then I said back to her and I said, "I'll be there Dianna." then she left with out saying anything else. I stood in the street for a bit till I went to get changed, I washed my face then I met Dianna on the roof where she asled me to met her.
