Brutus POV
Hephaestus.....I thought, he sounds familiar...I know that name means "God of fire."
I puzzle...Hephaestus...I might've met him in my younger years as a God.
I shake my head and sniff the air, "We're close."
"To where?" Her voice tickles my ears.
"A friends clan."
"Wow you know a lot of people."
"Eh, mostly werewolf clans, Gods, Goddess and Werewolf Gods and Goddesses."
She cocks her head lightly letting her hair bounce on her shoulders, "That's a lot of people."
"Heh yup."
"Halt!" We stop. Two werewolves come out the shadows. One of them was a Timber wolf with Silver grey eyes. The second one was a Mexican Wolf (Yes It's a breed...Google it!) with Golden yellow eyes.
The Timber wolf spoke, "Who are you?" Raising his head high to show dominance.
I lower my head to show no threat, "I am here to speak with Alpha Fang."
They both flitch a little then the Mexican wolf spoke, "Why do you need him? And you didn't answer our first question."
"I'm Brutus and I seek shelter for My lady and I."
They look at E and back at each other. The talk quietly to each other, where I can't hear them. They both look back at us and shook their heads, "I'm sorry she is human, Alpha Fang doesn't want humans invading his territory."
"But she is with me!" I tense up, my wolf stood proud and defensive.
The Timber wolf sensed aggression with me and Straighten his back while puffing out his chest. "I don't make the rules, I just follow them Bub."
"Let me speak with Alpha Fang..." My eyes shift color as I glare, "Now"
They both pull their ears back and look at each other, "Fine...Only because you sound like someone we know." Timber wolf turns and walks away letting us follow while the Mexican wolf stays behind us. The both didn't want us dying...or escaping their grasp. But I'm not hiding anything so I don't fear.
I glance over my shoulder at E, she was holding the box as if it were her child or it's the last thing she'll ever touch. I look at her pale face, tears old and new covered her rosy cheeks. She was tired and depressed, clearly, and my heart broke for her.
"E?"
"Yes?" She responds calmly.
"I'm sorry about what happened to your mother." Sympathy filled my tone, wanting her to know I did mean it.
"..." She sighs quietly, "I predicted this would happen...and I should've seen this coming."
"No you have every right to have your hopes up high, your mother meant the world to you." I slow down where she was by my side instead of behind me. "If you want we could go to her grave one day."
I see her perk up at the idea I threw out into the air, "Are you serious...?" She looks at me with her sad, tired eyes.
I nod and smile, "I'll do anything for you."
Her frown fades into a smile, "Thank you Brutus."
I nod again, "Of course E."
"Please call me Eos."
I look at her and a smile crept up my face. I'm gaining more and more of her trust with each passing hour together, I'm glad. I-...WE both are in a need of a little bit of love.
....Hephaestus.....He sounds so familiar.
EOS POV
Alright, history time on my family history. Mom married a man and had Hephaestus, I don't know the man by the way. Then one day he cheated on my mother, she let it slide but it kept happening over and over. So, she left him and fell in love with my dad! And had me. Making Hephaestus my half brother.
I would say we were close, closer than atoms together. We loved each other...or so I thought...he left when I turned 1. He was a lot older than me, he was 23 when he left.
"One night...Nyx, the goddess of night, made it cloudless that night." My mother stated. "Astraios caused the stars to shin so bright and glorious. Your father and I were so happy in Greece just because of it's beauties."
"I wish I could've seen it..." I twiddle my fingers she always talked about Greece and I know she misses it. I inhale, today I finally muster enough courage to ask her, "Why did you move..."
She freezes and looks at me, "Well...I guess you're old enough to know now." She sits down next to me, "It's because of your brother."
I cock my head in confusion, "Brother?"
"You had a Older brother, Hephaestus, you two were closer together than you ever were with anyone else." She lets out a small giggle, "Hephaestus loved you so much when you were a baby back in Greece, he made you giggle, helped you walk and even tried to teach you words. But not even 2 years into your life something happened with him...He was mad at your grandmother and Father...The argument got so bad to where...he killed your grandmother."
"Oh..." That's why I never knew her she passed away like dad did back in Greece.
"We decided to get far away from him as much as possible so we could raise you safely."
"Where is he?"
"Back in Greece...Very few know where we are though meaning we should be safe."
"Will I ever see him?"
She shakes her head vigorously, "Oh Zeus I hope not. Now let's stop worrying and make dinner!" She smiles and stands up.
I smile and join her, "Yeah."
~Present~
We eventually arrive at a mansion that looks similar to Eric's pack mansion. Except it looked alive.
A man walks out to the oak mansion doors and greeted us with a smile. A sharp tooth hung out of his kind smile. Just like any werewolf he was tall and muscular but judging by the way his size is he is the Alpha of this group. He wears a dark blue hoodie with a few rips and tears in some areas, it's old, a pair of blue jeans and his boots tucked under the pants.
On top of his head was a lox of Dark Golden Brown hair, he kept it as a messy mullet but shorter and it has a lot more poof in it. His eyes are two dark pools of steel blue.
"Well I'll be." He has a thick country accent in his tone, "Good to see you Brutus."
Brutus smirks while chuckling lightly, "You too my friend." Brutus looks at me, "This is Alpha Fang, Alpha of the The Silvermane Pack."
