Insanity

Inside Atermis's house, both Artemis and Mark had a serious conversation. The conversation was related to the past of Mark, which Mark wasn't too open about, but still open enough to tell Artemis the details that she needed to know.

What Mark told her, was the basic information such as the murderer of his mother. As for the reason why, and how exactly she was murdered or treated, that he did not explain. There was no need for him to explain that too, since it is a sensitive and private subject, and because it is quite unnecessary for Artemis to know about all that.

"Hmm… Can you tell me what kind of people they are? Gangsters, robbers, serial killers, or hitmen perhaps?" Artemis asked Mark the last and most important question that she needed answered in order to know how exactly she could help him.

"I believe it's a mix of hitmen and gangsters. They looked like gangsters, but the reason for my mother's death might actually be because of the company that my deceased father used to to work for." Mark answered truthfully yet vaguely.

"This… I can help you, but it'll be difficult, and five years will definitely not be enough." Artemis answered, and felt a bit troubled while doing so. The reason why, is because the enemies of Mark aren't really the easiest threat to handle.

Hitmen that are disguised as gangsters, and who had been ordered by some rich figure at that. If what Mark said is indeed true, Artemis can confirm that his enemies are a threat that he can not take care of without luck and enough time and preparation. The rich figures can order more hitmen at any time, and for sure, unless Mark is some kind of professional and experienced assassin like she used to be, he will absolutely fail with his act of revenge.

A squad of experienced killers will always overthrow a single newbie. There is no going around that, because Mark opponents will always be difficult to go against, due to his opponents simply being hitmen. They're the "men" that the rich figures hires. "Men" that can be replaced easily with money, which means that "they'll" never grow older and weaker. No matter how experienced Mark becomes, he'll never be able to deal against hired hitmen alone. They'll simply outnumber him, and if they fall, they're always replaceable, given enough time. Unless Mark can remain restless, they'll be like a wall that can not be easily broken through, and that when broken through, will be fixed immediately.

'This is a complete mess. But I'll have to help him, because I know he'll exact revenge eventually. My instincts tell me that I need to help him, and that if I don't, his chances of remaining alive will be even lower…'

*Sigh* Artemis could only sigh at the thought of having to help Mark. She didn't really have the idea at first, and simply thought of passing away such thought like the wind, however, for some reason, her guilty conscious suddenly told her to be of help to him.

Her career as an assassin that she had long left ago. It impacted the way she thought whenever she sees someone with a troubled mine like her in her younger years. She has been able to ignore such influenced thoughts of hers for quite the while however, but strangely, today was different. Today she actually felt sympathy for the guy that she'd always see passing by with a fake smile. She felt as if she needed to have a disciple who she can pass her knowledge onto.

'Maybe it's fate that has brought us together. Mark Evans… Your soul seems to be disturbed. I'll help you with that.' At last, she could only listen to her heart, and help the pitiful looking young man that she has only known for a few weeks.

Meanwhile, what she wasn't aware of, is that she hadn't really listened to her heart, but she had listened to the ghost Alissa instead, who is now trying to cover her wails of regret. Alissa wanted to cry so bad because of how bad the outcome of her setup might actually end up.

'Artemis is a human killer, and not exactly a hunter of the wild!' She couldn't help screaming out such words inside her mind, multiple times. She regretted her decisions greatly, because now she knew that she was supposed to do some careful research first before influencing Artemis.

'But nooo, Alissa! You just had to be curious and desperate! Now look what happened! You're going to turn Mark into a killer, which will get rid of Evan's personality entirely! How is Evan even going to come back at this point?! You stupid stupid stupid!! Argghhh!!' Alissa was enlightened by her own minuscule, and because she was enlightened, she couldn't help blaming her self continuously and harshly.

'It's over! It's definitely over!' Alissa continued to cry and regret, and didn't even see Mark and Artemis leaving the place.

It was only till late in the night, when Alissa finally became aware of her surroundings, due to the loud voices of Mark and Artemis that she hadn't heard in a while. She was that hard stuck inside her own thoughts, which had caused her to be completely aware of the passing time.

In those passing time, she only hoped for things to actually not go the way she thinks it will. That slight sense of hope, is the only slight piece of anchor that kept her from going to insanity. In fact, she was already in the brink of insanity, obvious from the way she had been stuck inside her own thoughts for an entire day…
