Chapter 92: Blood Of The Progenitor

I dropped one key word in the last chapter on what Naoto's reward is hinted at.

And now the chapter title should give it away.

"Are you sure you're doing this, Master?", I asked with a hint of worry.

"Of course I am. I thought you would have done it already when you were still in that dank place. But with being one of Them, you know I could not step foot down there.", Roselia said, nodding her head.

"Well that is true...", I said, unable to refute Roselia.

"And besides, in doing this after today, it very well may become your responsibility, Emma. Maybe yours too, Vita? Mostly depends on who is more pure.", Roselia questioned, tilting her head a bit.

"Mostly pure...?", Vita said, only to become more confused. But at the same time her cheeks started to blush a bit, but I doubt Vita knew what Roselia actually meant.

"???",", Emma tried to ask, but seeing her so confused like this was a sight to see.

"Don't be misleading like that, Master.", I said, retorting Roselia. "But are we fine doing that here?", I asked.

"Umu. I don't see a problem. If these brats don't understand what is going to happen then it's their own fault.", Roselia said, answering me.

"Ah fuck it. If something happens you'll fix it.", I said, finally giving in. "If I go berserk then it's your fault.", I continued saying to Roselia.

"B-Berserk? What are you talking about, Naoto?", Vita tried to ask, but I ignored her. Closing my eyes for a moment, I calmed my mind, and started up the Gamer System.

I could already guess what Roselia is wanting to do, which is related to this Job Class. I felt my body undergo subtle changes. Mostly my pupils changed to a crimson color over my golden eyes. Not just that, my pupils also became vertical slits, very similar to that of a cat's. Unlike the Vermillion Eyes, which added a vermilion layer to my golden eyes, this Job Class only adjusted the pupils.

Besides that, I could feel the inside of my mouth change slightly. My four canine teeth started to extend outward, becoming fangs, but I kept my mouth closed. Turning away from everyone, I walked up to Roselia. We were now mostly the same height, but slightly shorter.

"Don't blame me, okay?", I asked, as I now stood beside Roselia but facing the other way. The rest couldn't see, but I bared my fangs at her.

"Umu, I've taken the necessary precautions. Should something happen, I only need to apply a bit of restraint.", Roselia responded, ensuring me. Roselia then slid her hair off to the side. "A bit of give and take, but considering it's me, you it is a very good reward for you, Naoto.", Roselia continued to say, revealing a playful smile. Part of Roselia's neck was now bare.

"Here goes nothing.", I said, only opening my mouth more.

"W-What are you trying to do--?", Vita tried to retort, only to get distracted by my fangs that I revealed. Before anyone could react further, I chomped down on Roselia's neck, causing blood to spurt out. Most of it started going down my throat though. It felt very sweet, surprisingly, and didn't contain any of that iron taste when I fought Randy back then.

"Is the Young Master seriously drinking blood right now...?", Lechter asked as he saw me gulp down a few times.

"This is rather unexpected, I could detect a change in subtleness just now too.", Rufus mused to himself.

"We've seen this before, but Big Brother never went this far.", Sherryl said

"I always found it interesting, but never asked.", Tio also said with a nod of her head.

"Whatever it is, it looks like a change is gonna happen. Why does this remind me of what happened in the Middle Ages?", Rutger also said to himself.

"This just means this duel is going to make us anticipate it more, right daddy?', Fie asked in wonder.

"Haha, that may be one way to put it.", Rutger mused.

As for Emma, she appeared more worried than the others as she continued to watch me drink Roselia's blood.

"Naoto...Just what are you....?", Emma asked to herself.

Unfortunately for them, I was too distracted by the several notifications started to sound off inside my mind. It was enough to keep me to myself for a few moments. I then popped my teeth back out, only to see two bite marks on Roselia's neck, which started to rapidly heal.

"Ugh...", I groaned a bit, seeing a sudden influx of notifications. Enough to where I fell down onto one knee. I started to read them one by one.

[Ding! Player Naoto has successfully activated a unique skill.]

[Ding! Skill Blood Drink has been created. This skill is only accessible while Player has True Dhampir Job equipped.]

[Ding! An unknown source of power has begun to flow through Player's body. Now filtering out impurities...]

The first flurry of notifications came in a swift manner, letting me know that I had drunk blood for the first time, and it even looks like it created a skill for it. Perhaps the more it levels up the more drinking blood would provide benefits? Not that I'm actively seeking to do that, as I still see myself as a human. But what Roselia is currently giving me is likely a big boost in power. And sure enough, what came next surprised me.

[Ding! Player Naoto has successfully consumed the blood of the Progenitor to the extinct vampires. Only the Progenitor remains alive. Due to having a close bond with the Progenitor, title, [Child of the Progenitor] has been granted.].

The moment I heard that last notification, I began to feel something spread throughout my body. It was likely a new source of energy. Roselia was the leader of the vampires, which were now extinct in today's time, but she herself still remains alive, as she is the leader of the Hexen Clan. Still, the power she held as one of them was by no mean little, and I could feel the effects of it already. As it began to spread, it was apparent on the outside as well.

It didn't take long for everyone to see a crimson blood like aura to appear beneath my feet, which soon swept over my whole body.

"G-Grandmother! What did you do to Naoto!?", Vita berated her seeing me release this blood-like aura.

"Me? I did nothing. Tis but a small boon Naoto is currently experiencing. Can't you feel it?", Roselia asked, making Vita more confused.

"Feel it...?", Vita said, calming down a bit. As the aura grew steadier, she started to observe me. It didn't long for Vita to see the changes that were starting to occur. As for Emma, she was always watching me since the changes began, and she was the one to speak out next.

"Naoto's mana is rising.", Emma stated.

"You're right. But how?", Vita tried to ask.

As for the Jaegers, they too were looking on with interest.

"Is this a battle aura?", The Behemoth asked seeing this aura continue to swirl around me.

'I dunno, but I can feel a surge in strength, that's for sure.", Rutger said, watching on with interest.

A few moments passed like this as I got used to the energy of the blood Roselia gave me. Unfortunately not much of my current look changed much. It was mostly an internal energy that spread through my body, but even now I never felt better. I could feel a new surge in strength, as well as my capacity in mana. At the same time, I heard another notification sound off.

[Ding! Energy source extraction complete. Player Naoto has successfully infused the Blood of the Progenitor.]
