Chapter 10

"What is this?"

"A flare," I say. "I can use this to distract them. Usually, a red flare signifies a spawn of loot crate. That's why we can use this artificial flare to attract them."

"Where do you even find all this?" Asks Reina.

I point at the mall.

"...oh."

I nod to Reina and she ran off to the school. We have initiated the plan.

Reina will wait on standby near the school. I will use the flare from the building opposite to attract the kidnappers. Once, I got their attention, Reina will rush in and follow my steps.

"Ready?" I message her in the in-game team chat.

"Yes."

I set off the flare beside a purple crate I looted. Just in case, I also placed some worthless stuff inside.

As expected. They sent three men to investigate.

"There's a crate spawn here? Lucky!"

"Yeah, it's just right beside our base. Should we try bribing the girls with some good stuff as well?"

"Nah. Just torturing them will be enough for them to submit to us."

I smiled when they step near the crate.

I press the trigger and the crate explodes.

*BOOOOM*

That confirm attracted the rest of them. They should be here at any time. I need to hurry.

"What's that? Should we check it out?"

...

"Yeah, let's go."

Almost everyone present in the school left to check. Only a few stayed behind.

Reina peeks over from behind a wall and climbs over it. She follows my instruction and went up to the third level.

"Eek." She screeched when she saw that one of them is patrolling the classroom.

"What?"

Reina tried to muffle it but the person still heard it.

He walks towards the direction he heard the sound from.

Reina is hiding behind the wall, out of sight. She peeks over and sees the man walking towards her.

But...Reina tries to compose herself and project what I will do in this situation. She grips her dagger and gulps before finally attacking the man when he was about to make the turn around the wall, ambushing him.

"Wha-"

She manages to deal a clean cut across the throat and the player immediately died.

Reina drops the dagger afterwards and falls to the ground. She killed a player for the first time. Though it's fake and the person is still alive, it feels real.

But when she thinks about me, she bites her lip and forced herself to stand up. Then she runs over the classroom 2-F and opens the door. Just like I predicted, everyone here is tied up and all of them are girls.

I control my breathing and compose myself. I should prepare for a round of "hide and seek".

I am in an abandoned building. This building has 10 floors. And in the middle of the entire place is a blank space so I can see what they are doing down there from up here.
