Chapter 18 MOMMY WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU

It has been three days since John left for Italy to look for his sister.

The last time that he called was when he arrived at Venice airport but after that, he never called or even sent a single message.

Frustrating!

"I hope nothing bad happened to him," Mary Ann whispered to herself. She couldn't deny it to herself that she started to get worried about him. She suddenly got mad at herself when she realized something. "Mary Ann, he isn't even your boyfriend for you to act like that."

She lay down on her bed and looked up at the ceiling. She doesn't know why she felt very stressed.

Mary Ann is a bit pissed off too because John isn't contacting him as he promised and at the same is worried about what could have happened to him in the foreign land.

She sat down on her bed and looked at the picture frame on the top of the table beside her bed. She took it and touched the smiling face of her daughter.

"I miss you, baby. I miss you so much." She said and the pain suddenly came back again." I am sorry that I wasn't able to take care of you but you know that mommy loves you so much, right?" Mary Ann couldn't fight back the tears. She let them flow in her cheeks.

This is the pain that she couldn't easily let go of. She has moved on but the memories and happiness that she felt when she is still with her baby always come back flashing in her mind.

That could be the power of a mother's love.

She laid down again while hugging the photo of her daughter.

She just let the pain in her heart and her tears fall down until she finally fell asleep.

Ontario Canada,

"Mom," John hugged her mother and kissed her on the cheeks.

"John, Diane!" His mom shouted in surprise, "Why the sudden arrival?" The woman said when she saw her two children.

Her eyes widened when she noticed her daughter.

"What happened, John? Why does Diane have a bandage in her head?" His mom is beginning to be hysterical. "John, quickly. Come here and sit down." She looks so worried to see Diane with a bandage on her head.

"John, you need to explain to me what happened to you and your sister there." She said fighting back the tears that wanted to come out from her eyes.

"Mom, please calm down. Diane is okay now." John said and he is already getting a bit worried about his mom. If only he has a choice, he will bring Diane once she fully recovered but he can't. They need to go home as soon as they can. " Mom, so I flew to Italy where I found my little sister. Fortunately, I just made it in time. Her life was in danger. Someone tried to kidnap her but I was there watching her. I rescued her and brought her to the nearest hospital. I asked for help from a friend to transfer us here." He explained to her mom to calm her down. Until now, John couldn't imagine what he and Diane have gone through in Italy.

His mom's face turned white.

"My poor daughter. It's your dad's fault. She doesn't deserve to go all through this."

"I am not yet done, Mom. There's one more thing that you need to know. Diane is pregnant. When I asked her who is the father of her child. She couldn't remember. She couldn't remember anything." John looked at his sister who was just quietly sitting beside him.

"I brought her here because I know this is the safest place she could stay. Unless her husband or boyfriend will try to find her or whoever is the father of her child." He held his sister's hand to comfort her. "She needs to stay here until her memory is back."

His mom stiffened. She looked at Diane and she felt so helpless. She doesn't know how to help her child.

"John, what memory? What exactly happened to your sister?" Mrs. Lopez asked in confusion.

"Mom, according to the doctor, she had lost a certain part of her memory and I guessed that part was her life when she was with her boyfriend. It's partial amnesia." John said looking at his mom." Diane couldn't remember anything. She couldn't remember even the name of the father of her child. She only remembered the time she needed to run away from us. When she woke up, she was even surprised to learn that she was in Italy."

"John, I don't know what exactly happened. I couldn't believe all these things happened to your sister but, can you bring your sister to the vacant room on the left side?" His mom asked him." Let her take a rest and I will prepare food for us." His mother added even if she is so shocked at what happened to her children.

"Okay, Mom. Everything should be under control so don't worry. If Diane sees that we worry about her, this might not be good for her." He reminds his mom.

"I know. Go and take her now.:

"Let's go, little sister." John took Diane to the guest room. Since his parents got divorced, he usually comes here to visit his mother, especially during semestral break.

It has been three years since his parents got divorced and only Diane isn't aware of it. It is only recently his father brought his second wife to the mansion.

That's the reason why Diane ran away. She can't accept the fact that their parents got divorced. Their family is already broken.

"My poor little sister." He said to himself as he stared at Diane, "What would be your life now? You got pregnant and the worst feeling that you can ever have is you lost some parts of your memory." John sighed. He pitied his sister. She lost her memories with the man she loved.

"John, please don't leave me." Diane grabbed his arms. His sister found him as her pillar of strength at this point in her life.

"Sis, just relax, okay? Everything will be fine. We are here now at mommy's house. You told me that you wanted to see mommy, right?" He said and smiled at her. He doesn't know what else to do to calm her down. It seems his sister is still traumatized by what happened to her in Italy.

Diane nodded. Her eyes are wet. "Mommy…" She sobbed, "Yes, I miss her so much."

"Shhh... Mommy is here already with you. I won't leave you anymore."Mrs. Lopez hugged Diane as she pulled her head on her chest. The mother gently rubbed her child's back to comfort her from the miserable feeling she has right now.

"Mommy misses you so much, my little girl. Please, don't cry. Mommy will never leave you anymore. From now on, you will always be by my side. I will take care of you and your little one, okay." Mrs.Lopez followed the two when they went inside the guest room.

Diane stayed with her dad since their parents got divorced. She wasn't able to bring Diane with her because she was still studying at that time.

Well, also, she cannot just bring Diane with her because her husband has all the rights with Diane. Only, her ex-husband and John know who Diane's real mother is.

Despite the fact, no word has come out to them. They will leave everything as it is. Let the time come for them to know who their real mother and father of these children are. Besides, the love they give for both of them is true and sincere.

She treated them as if she carried both of them in her womb.

John and Diane know that she is their real mother. So, she will do that part of being a mother to them.

Especially at this point in time, Diane needs a mother to lean on. This is a dark moment in her life and she promised to be by her side until she gives birth.

She will give all the love that she needs to be able to recover.

Somehow, she felt guilt in her heart about why this happened to Diane. If only they were able to work out the marriage, their daughter wouldn't run away. Even if they have issues, Diane won't think of doing what she did.

John got a glass of water in the kitchen and gave it to his sister.

He handed it to her mother.

Mrs. Lopez helped Diane to drink the water while she still held her.

Diane finally calmed down. She let her lay down on the bed to take a rest. She covered her with a quilt and then left her alone. The girl must be very tired because of the travel and given that she is pregnant.
