Chapter 8 - Work - Alice POV
After bidding goodbye my dad and I went for work. We reached our headquarters at 9am the starting time of our office located in the capital city, and buzzling area - Acorn of our country, Archipelago.
We entered the lobby with the staff congratulating me and greeting us. We took the Executive elevator to the 80th floor and the last floor of the office with my secretary waiting there with my coffee ready.
Though I had a lot of thoughts about my sister and the situation of our family I pushed all those thoughts to the back of head and started focusing on the work I had as I am someone who firmly believes that work and personal life are two different things. I reached my new cabin and took a seat sipping the coffee and my secretary started Updating the meeting that I had today "Miss. Smith for today you have a meeting arranged with the finance departed at 9:30 am and 12:00pm you have meeting with Zery entreprises to finalize the deal regarding the new collaboration of the launch of a new game. At 1:30 pm you have a lunch meeting with the Black Enterprise's CEO, Mr.Black regarding a possible collaboration.
At 3:00pm you have a general meeting with all the managers. At 5:00pm you have meeting with our international client collaboration after which your day ends mam." As she told my itinerary for the day I memorized everything and got ready for the day.
After drinking my coffee I went for the first meeting which went smoothly leaving a few corrections to be made by the finance department for which I gave a deadline till tomorrow afternoon. My second meeting regarding the collaboration also went well. But when the meeting with Black Enterprise's started I felt as if everything is going wrong as the collaboration we wanted to work on was rejected as it happened in my dreams but unlike my dreams where I stromed off I decided to talk it out despite my urge to Strom off so I asked "Mr. Black, may I know the reason for you to reject the proposal." just as I thought he would be rude because the conversations we previously had in any parties weren't pleasant blame me, but still he responded "Miss. Smith its not that I don't want to collaborate with you guys it's just that the plan of building a new hotel in the area is not acceptable and feasible either as it is a tourist place and building a hotel would require us to destroy few of the scenic places no matter how much we try to protect them and the government would never agree to this project. I hope Miss Smith agrees with me and I hope you come with such unique ideas in the future also but take into account these facts and we can have a collaboration. I will take my leave now Miss.Smith."
With those words he left leaving me to reorganize my thoughts because as I listened to his explanation I remembered that even in my dream this project never took place even after their death and now I realized the reason. I was glad that he left me to my thoughts. After the meeting I reorganized the thoughts I asked my secretary to draft a email stating we hope to collaborate with a better project in the future to which we got a response in the evening saying they wish the same.
After asking to send the email I got ready for my other two meeting which went well and we were able to succeed the agenda of the two meeting also. After all the meeting from morning to evening and a bunch of paperwork I left work at 6:30pm and reached home at 7:00pm, got freshed up had my dinner with the family went to bed at 12:00am after completing some of the work that needed to be done.
