Mia's eyes widened with understanding and guilt. "I'm so sorry, Joshua. I never meant to come between you and Claire."
Joshua's face tightened. "Sorry isn't enough, Mia. I've been neglecting my marriage, and it's tearing us apart."
Mia's expression hardened, a flicker of something darker crossing her face. "So, what are you going to do? Abandon me? Just like everyone else?"
Joshua was taken aback. "Mia, this isn't about abandoning you. It's about balancing my responsibilities."
Mia's voice grew cold. "If you walk away now, you'll regret it. I need you, Joshua. Without you, I have no one."
Joshua stared at her, the weight of her words pressing down on him. "I can't keep sacrificing my marriage for you, Mia. It's not fair to Claire."
Mia's eyes narrowed. "And what about me? Is it fair to leave me when I need you the most?"
Joshua stood, his mind in turmoil. "I need to think, Mia. This isn't something I can decide right now."
