Chapter 2

//Age of Gods//

Gilgamesh sat at the table and although he was not at the seat of honor, for once he stayed his childish pride and tongue. Klein sat opposite as he clearly recognised the one that had prayed to him. It was Gilgamesh, a recognisable character from his past life as Zhou Mingrui.

"You can address me as The Fool."

Klein mused inwardly, for once he wouldn't have to act anymore. He could simply be himself for a while.

Gilgamesh's mind was working overdrive to discern the motives of the so called Fool sitting across. A vague deceptive fog covered the face of The Fool. Gilgamesh's eyes were about to attempt to see through the core being of Klein only to be warned.

"I'd advise you not to try look into the core of my being. You'll end up most likely exploding your brain." Gilgamesh flinched as his childish self imagined a scene like that as he got chills. The fog slowly thinned out until Gilgamesh could see a vague outline and the facial features of the Fool. A human form with black gloves and a cane that radiated strange power. The man was wearing clothing that came from another era in the future that he saw in his dreams. A suit and a cloak that came with a ethereal veil.

"You look normal enough Mr Fool~" Gilgamesh replied childishly as Klein widened his eyes. Klein smiled a bit before realising that it had been so long since he had been in touch with a simple conversation despite what he currently was. Gilgamesh prodded a bit more "So what are you doing here Mr Fool? You clearly don't belong to this world. I think they call you an outer god?"

Klein thought for a bit before smiling visibly "Getting in touch with my humanity, and simply relaxing on a whim." Gilgamesh visibly looked shaken at that answer. "You were once human?" Klein nodded "Back where I came from it was quite ironic. We tried to avoid danger by becoming stronger only to better destroy ourselves. Power is madness." Gilgamesh nodded as he could picture it. "You ascended to godhood then." Klein nodded.

Gilgamesh nodded "So what are you the god of?" Klein chuckled "It's in the name you know? The authority of fooling, history, time, destiny, change, concealment, and mind domination" Gilgamesh's pride would not allow it but he inwardly paled as Klein lampooned inwardly at the obvious reaction from a childish Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh suddenly asked "Wait so I'm your first guest here?" Klein nodded "You are the first to be brought up into the grey fog." Gilgamesh smiled "Hey, hey. How about we be friends? It'd be cool to be friends with a god like you." Klein smiled "We may. However, I want you to be aware. I am a Fool who likes an equal exchange. Our conversations have not much beneficial value. If you have a wish you'll need to exchange something for it as well."

Gilgamesh understood the implications immediately. "No worries, with the amount of wealth I have. I'll be able to hire you as my servant!" His pride had been boosted only for his inner self to pale. Klein chuckled as the expressions on child Gilgamesh's face was quite prominent that he didn't even need to be a spectator to notice. Gilgamesh turned around before he left and extended an invitation "Mr Fool, feel free to come visit and enjoy the culture of Uruk!" Klein nodded as he once again was alone in this grey fog.

Klein inwardly realised he would no longer be the god of poverty. As Roselle once said, if a problem can be solved by money, then it is not a problem. In which case, Klein had just made friends with the richest man in this cosmos.

Morgan immediately tensed up as she found standing in a sea of grey fog. Her magic did not work here. Nothing followed the rules. The world above the grey fog only followed the logic of the Lord of the Mysteries. Morgan heard the sound of fingers tapping a hard object. She turned around only to find what she deduced to be The Fool. The one she had prayed too, a mysterious pupilless eye with intertwined lines, symbolising secrecy.

"You may address me as The Fool. I am a fool that likes a fair and equal exchange."

Morgan slowly approached the table and took a seat when gestured by Klein. "I heard your wish. You want to avoid the political marriage to King Lot. I am more than capable of fulfilling your wish. The problem lies in your payment." Morgan immediately thought for a bit as it was quite reasonable. There was no such thing as free bread. Immediately Morgan thought for a bit as Klein rapped his fingers against the table.

Klein reminded her that she had no need to rush. "You can spend as much time as you want here. Time is not relative here to the outside." Morgan nodded as Klein shaped the world around the grey fog out of amusement. Back when he was still Zhou Mingrui he remembered always fantasising about what he would do if he was overpowered. Morgan flinched as the world above the grey fog rumbled and moved accordingly to his will. Klein calmed her down "No need to worry, just a bit of renovation." The castle had worn down during his slumber. The pillars became upright and the surroundings were still old looking but the strength in them had been restored.

A small piece of paper was conjured from the mist of the grey fog as started writing a message to Amanises, a letter to relieve her of her worries. Though he did mention for her to keep his awakening quiet.

The letter was sacrificed to Amanises with a wave of a hand while Morgan simply kept thinking about her payment. Klein heard a prayer of a very familiar voice. A voice that caused a pang in his heart. A smaller voice accompanied the older voice, "Da Pool that dun pelong to diz ela…

Da Mesterwes luler apove the gway pog…. " Klein smiled as he opened a small "door" leading to the home of the Moretti family. From under the veil, one of his tentacles entered the "door" leading to his niece.

Melissa led her niece to the altar in order to pray once again to meet Klein. The flame form the lit candle enlargened as a sinister tentacle came through, the tentacle waved as a second tentacle emerged and handed a letter to Melissa mentioning how she shouldn't tell the Major Arcana of the Tarot Club just yet. Written inside was also an apology letter about all the times that they had been deceived. "I'll visit soon after I recover." The tentacle withdrew as it carried his niece up and down and waving left and right like a miniature roller coaster. Klein could only smile as the happy giggles of his niece could be heard through the tentacles. At least that happiness only lasted for a moment as his other tentacle was grabbed with a firm force belonging to that of an older sister.

"KLEIN, we are going to have a long talk when you come back!"

Klein retracted the tentacles as he winced. It seems even after becoming a pillar he could not escape the wrath of an older sister. Especially one he wronged. Morgan eventually came to a decision. A hard one as she had figured there was nothing material she could give that a god like him would want. So she could only offer her services. "I will repay you by serving you." Klein raised an eyebrow, "You want to be my servant?" Morgan nodded "I have nothing else to offer in terms of material wealth. Therefore I can only offer the services of Fairy Princess Morgan."

Klein nodded, very well. He had a taken a Morgan from a discarded timeline, and grafted the primordial curse from the current Morgan to the replacement Morgan. A perfect replica that will fool history. History will go on as destined without even realising that a main player is missing.

Klein would once again fool history.
