Why do I think of good replies if I never use them

"Hey. Hey Shin. Wake up. We're almost there." called out Morgana.

With a small yawn, Shin almost went ahead and stretched his arms, but then he remembered he was currently in a train so he abstained from doing that.

He had placed his belongings in the bag and tasked Morgana with waking him up if someone tried to steal anything while he took a nap. He wasn't particularly tired, but he really had nothing else to do on the way.

"Next stop, Yasoinaba train station." said the train announcement.

'Finally.' thought Shin.

With the bag, and Morgana inside, on his shoulder, the black-haired teenager stood up and grabbed a grab rail. The train stopped shortly afterwards, and as Shin exited the train and subsequently, the train station, he took in the rural sights of Inaba. Even before getting into this world, Shin lived in a decently-sized city.

As his thoughts got to that point, he felt a bit sad he had to leave his old life behind. He had games he wanted to play more, friends he wanted to talk to more, girls he wanted to flirt with more. It bugged him to no end how many hours he spent doing useless shit, when he could've done more research on the Persona series.

'Deep breath, Shin. Deep breath. Think about what you came here for.' he thought, brushing his frustrations aside for the time being.

He had previously talked with Hayato to arrange a meeting with Marie. The older man told him that he'd have to be the one to go to Inaba, as Marie had a job there and she took it very seriously.

He said 'job', but she was literally forecasting whatever weather she wanted. Not that he didn't understand where he was coming from. What could Hayato even say to her? 'Can you drop everything you have planned for a day and come meet this high school kid?'

Regardless, he was there at that moment, and as he looked around, he saw a woman with brownish black hair and gray eyes looking at him. From her appearance alone, Shin could guess that the woman was Marie. She was focusing on him, so Shin assumed that Hayato had at the very least described his appearance.

"Hello there." he started. "I'm Shin Yuuta. Hayato told me about you, and I'd like to have a talk with you."

She sized him up, which felt rather weird, as he was almost 20 cm taller than her.

"Go on." she said.

"Please make a contract with me!" said Shin, bending forward at a 45° angle.

"Huh?"

"I'd like to be able to summon Personas in the real world. So please, make a contract with me!"

"No?" she replied, somewhat unsure of herself.

"Why?"

"Because I barely know you."

"We can get to know each other in time."

"But..."

Suddenly, Shin had a bright idea. He quickly took out Morgana from the bag and stood down on one knee. He brought Morgana before her and said.

"Mine own fair mistress! I off'r thee this beast with quite quaint black hair, fiteth f'r petting and cuddling. Doth not w'rry, f'r t is v'ry tameth. Doest this satisfyeth thee?"

Marie looked at Shin, confused by his sudden Shakespeare speech.

"Hey!" exclaimed Morgana, who clearly didn't want to be given away.

"T seemeth the journey h're hast agitat'd the beast. T isn't liketh this usually."

"Uh..."

At that point, Shin's phone rang, and he quickly picked up the call.

"Yo." Hayato's voice was heard on the other end. "Did you get to Inaba yet?"

"Mmhm."

"So why did you want to meet Marie so badly?" asked the older man.

"Well..."

"Don't tell me... You went all that way just so you could have a shot at her?"

"I didn't come here JUST to flirt her, you know? There's something else that's making me really excited. I'll show you when I get back.

"...Oh. Oh! Ohhhhh! I see how it is. Look, I really don't want to see it, but Marie's a good friend of mine, so if I-"

"Yeah cool talk to you later bye." said Shin, hanging up.

Marie looked at him, annoyed.

"Just to flirt with her, huh?" she said.

"Ah, he's just saying that. I don't flirt with every beautiful woman I come across." he said, then added with a smile. "only the goddesses."
