A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Upon a closer look, Kaneshiro looks like a Promised Neverland character

"You seem very enthusiastic, Shin. Why is that?" asked Yusuke.

"Oh, you'll see." said Shin, trying to sound mysterious.

"Let's get into this guy's Palace already." said Ryuji.

"Wait, do we even know his keywords?" asked Shiho.

"No. That's why I opened the navigation app from the very beginning." said Shin. "We know his name already, but since his location could be anywhere in all of Shibuya-"

He was immediately interrupted by the Meta-Nav.

"Scratch that, we only need to find out what he sees all of Shibuya as."

Ann frowned.

"Doesn't it mean that his emotions are really distorted if his Palace affects all of Shibuya?"

"Yes. And since he's supposedly an extortionist, I can only imagine what his cognition of people is..." commented Morgana.

Everybody was quiet for a few seconds, before Yusuke opened his mouth to speak.

"If he only wants money, wouldn't it make sense to put it in a bank?" he said, hesitantly.

Ryuji scoffed.

"This guy's a criminal. He wouldn't put money in a bank-"

"Beginning navigation." said the Meta-Nav, and the Thieves found themselves in the Metaverse shortly after.

Ryuji looked around Kaneshiro's cognitive version of Shibuya. It looked exactly the same as normal Shibuya, except this one was entirely desolate, not counting the numerous ATM machines wandering around on their own legs.

"What the hell, man... Why would he see this as a bank? He's not doing legal stuff. Shouldn't he have some kind of stash? This doesn't make any sense!" exclaimed Ryuji, baffled.

"I don't know what's more ridiculous. The fact that you expect this place to work by some rules, or that!" said Shin, pointing up to the sky.

"Huh?"

The others looked up, and they could see a large building, which was apparently floating on some sort of cylinder. If it wasn't obvious already that the building was, in fact, the place where Kaneshiro's treasure was held, there was also a trail of money bills that were slowly floating to the ground from the large building in the sky.

"Hoooly shit!" said Ryuji.

"How are we going to even get up there?" asked Ann.

"We make him notice us." said Shin.

The Thieves turned to look at Shin.

"You have a plan, don't you, Shin?" asked Morgana.

"Of course." he said, pausing for suspense.

"Well? What is it?" asked Ann.

"Don't leave us waiting like that, dude." added Ryuji.

Shin smiled.

"We will make a public announcement on the Phan-Site."

-INTERMISSION-

At LeBlanc.

Sojiro was lazily making a cup of coffee for one of his customers. As he was doing the finishing touches, a customer attracted his attention.

"Hey, boss... Do you see this?" asked the man, pointing a finger at the TV in LeBlanc.

"Hm?"

He turned to look at the TV.

"We will now be showing the main page of a fan-made website for the Phantom Thieves." said the newscaster.

On the TV one could clearly see the main page of the Phan-site, covered by an all too familiar calling card.

"'This is an official message from the Phantom Thieves. We hereby inform you that within the foreseeable future, we shall act to change one corrupt man's heart. Said man is the leader behind the extortion activities that take place in Shibuya. The extortions are specifically targeting high school students, as our target takes pleasure in forcing younger people to go through hardships.'" read the newscaster.

"The police is currently withholding any information about any possible target. Goro Akechi, the Detective Prince himself, will be making a statement regarding this message in the next..."

-INTERMISSION-

"So how's that?" asked Shin, holding the phone up for everyone to see.

"Holy shit, dude!" exclaimed Ryuji.

"That's amazing, Shin!" said Ann.

"Indeed. I had no idea you were so resourceful." added Yusuke.

"As expected of the one I chose." said Morgana.

"Yes, keep stroking my ego." said Shin, spreading his arms apart and leaning his head backwards.

He purposefully ignored the weird stares the passersby were giving him.

"Still, how did you do that? We were with you the entire time." asked Shiho.

"You know how I know someone that's skilled with computers?"

"Oh."

"I mean... I also know the one who manages the Phan-Site, but they're not very good at covering their own tracks, so I couldn't have asked them to post that. I'll have to explain to them what just happened, though. But that can wait. For now, let's see if we can access Kaneshiro's Palace."

-INTERMISSION-

"What's that?" asked a fat man who was wearing the typical cheap suit of a higher-up in organized crime.

"We think this might be aimed at you, boss." said one of his underlings, the one that was showing the news report to the overweight man.

"This is ridiculous. As if they could actually do anything to me." said the man, reaching to grab a scantily clad woman, giving her a bunch of money bills.

"Call your friends." he ordered the woman. "I feel in the need of some relaxation."
