"Nngh..." Makoto groaned as she stretched her arms.

She placed her hands on the bed afterwards, but she could feel something odd about it. It was too tough.

The girl rubbed her eyes and took a better look at what was underneath her.

"Hm? You're finally awake, huh?"

Makoto would've jumped backwards from shock if it weren't for two arms keeping her in place.

Shin raised his upper body so that he was sitting on the bed, and moved Makoto on his lap.

"What is going on?! How are you here?! Why am I here?! I don't even remember getting home!" Makoto quite understandably freaked out.

Shin didn't respond and simply placed his hands on her head and softly caressed her.

"The questions you should be asking are, am I really here? Are YOU really here? Is this merely a dream?" he said.

His words made the girl fall silent, contemplating. But Shin didn't give her any more time, as he brought his face closer and breathed lightly into Makoto's ear.

"Hiii~!"

The girl could feel a shiver go down her spine at that.

"Don't think too hard about it. Just enjoy the moment, will you?"

Makoto still looked like she had something to say, but Shin placed his finger over her lips.

"Not one more word, or I'll have to take your lips for myself."

The girl turned red as a tomato, but she complied, nevertheless.

"I don't know why you would dream of me, but I feel flattered. Although, when you wake up, you won't remember much of this."

The boy looked at his phone's watch, and he stood up and said.

"It's about time, huh? You're about to wake up. See you at school." said Shin, waving his hand.

Makoto felt drowsy, and fell back on her bed.

Shin exited her room and closed the door behind him.

'Now I know why Philemon and Igor act all mysterious like that. It's so fun!'

It was quite early, so Shin decided to go and take a shower. Makoto is really clingy while sleeping, so the boy was all sweaty and bothered.

Meanwhile, in another room of the apartment, Sae just woke up. As per usual, she went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

She was surprised to hear the water running, as Makoto doesn't wake up that early usually. Even then, she continued with what she was doing.

After freshening herself up, she went to the kitchen to cook breakfast.

Sae was frying an egg when Shin passed by her, wearing nothing but a towel, as if he just got out of the shower, which he did.

The woman was about to drop the pan from shock.

Shin reacted quickly and grabbed the pan before it could fall.

"You should be more careful. Something like this could scar your skin permanently, and that would be sad." he said.

Sae was about to comment on how it was his fault he startled her in the first place, when she noticed the boy holding the pan with his bare hand.

"What are you doing?!" she said, moving her cooking glove-covered hands to check on Shin's hand.

But the boy had no visible injury. In fact, his hand didn't even feel much warmer.

Of course, that was all she could concede while still wearing her gloves.

In actuality, Shin was purely manifesting some traits from the Persona he had. Channeling the Jack-o'-Lantern's resistances, the teen was not hurt by the heat. He even absorbed it, which made him feel slightly more energetic.

A similar thing happened before, when he rushed to Makoto in the alleyway. Normally, he couldn't have jumped from wall to wall like that, but he channeled Arsene's stats, which made him expecially agile.

All of these actions were very draining on the wishing star's power, as they affected not only the cognitive world, but the real world as well. As such, they had to be used sparsely.

"Never mind that, why are you here?" Sae shook her head to clear it of unnecessary thoughts, such as Shin's muscles which were being accentuated by the water.

"Makoto wanted to see some scary movie, but she was too afraid to watch it alone, so she asked me to watch it with her." said Shin, scratching his cheek.

Sae could hear him mutter something about how she shouldn't force herself, which made her opinion of his rise slightly.

"Alright, I think it's about time I leave. Try not to burn yourself next time you cook, okay?" said Shin.

Sae's cheeks lit up slightly at being lectured like that. As if she was a little kid.

"Alright, alright, I get it. Now go."
