A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Satanael is one scary son of a bi- *ahem* God

I tried to release this precisely at midnight, but my brain likes to throw random ideas at me at the last minute.

It's a love-hate relationship.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Shouldn't you go see Maruki?" asked Morgana.

"Nah. I'll do that later."

Of course, Shin truly had no intention on going to counselling. Why feed the man information and end up into more trouble later because of it?

If he wanted a challenging fight, he'll go one on one with the Reaper.

He wasn't concerned regarding the rest of the thieves. Ryuji, the loudmouth, was stubbornly against it, and the girls were careful not to slip up if they went.

Avoiding such a troublesome situation with so little effort felt almost surreal, but Shin wasn't complaining.

And speaking of troublesome situations...

"Hey, are you sure you don't want to do it? The pay's good." said a man with shoulder-long brown hair.

The man had multiple piercings in his nose and ears.

'To think I'd encounter Kaneshiro's men already.'

Shin was just going home from school, when the man with brown hair and a few others approached him. The man not-so-subtly asked Shin if he wanted to become one of their delivery boys, and since there was only one Mafia figurehead acting around here, it wasn't hard to realize who they were working for.

"No, I'm alright."

The pierced man wanted to try and convince Shin more, but one of his companions tapped him on his shoulder and said.

"C'mon, Hayato. Let's go. We can't spend that much time with this kid."

The pierced man nodded and intended to walk off, but Shin had grabbed his shoulder.

"Your name's Hayato, right?" asked the teen.

The pierced man was startled when his shoulder was suddenly grabbed, but he calmed down when he heard Shin's question.

"Heh, did you hear about me? You wanna work as a delivery guy for us now? I'll put in a good word for you." the older man grinned.

Shin had a weird smile on his face at the moment.

"No, it's just, I remembered I promised to rip the face off of any Hayato I happen to meet."

"Huh? What's this kid saying?" asked another man.

Shin stretched out his hand and gripped Hayato's head firmly. The other men couldn't react in time because it happened so fast. Once they came to their senses, they took out their weapons.

"I wouldn't shoot if I were you." said Shin to the ones who had small guns in their hands.

They were supposed to look as non-shady as possible, so they couldn't go around with huge bulges.

From guns, I meant! Guns! Don't think about something else!

The men were about to disregard Shin's words, when suddenly, the silhouette of a colossal being with long horns and wings appeared behind the teen.

The men could feel their knees give way when the being settled its shining red eyes on them.

"What is that thing?!" one man shouted.

The colossus raised its right hand, and pointed one enormous gun at the trembling men. They were too afraid to even run at that point. Some tried to scramble away, but most didn't even try to run.

"Alright, that's enough. Let's finish this." said Shin, and snapped his fingers with his free hand.

The demon pulled the trigger on the gun, and a bus-sized bullet flew towards the mafia members.

Immediately afterwards, all of them fell limply to the ground before the bullet could hit them. As if they had a seizure, their bodies continued twitching, despite them being unconscious.

Said bullet vanished into thin air as it approached.

Since the men were all knocked out, there was no need for the Satanael illusion anymore, so it disappeared.

"What are you?! Monster?!" screamed Hayato, who until that point was held by his face.

Shin smiled maliciously. The man could see the teen place his fingers around one of his eyeballs. He slowly dug his fingers in, relishing into the bloody screams of pain coming from Hayato.

Once he was about 2 cm in, Shin held the man's eyeball and simply ripped it out. A heart-wrenching shout came from the man, and blood poured out as if he was weeping.

"One down." said Shin, and went on to the other eye.

Of course, all of this was also an illusion placed on Hayato. Although, even if he still has his eyes, Hayato will be psychologically blind from emotional trauma.

Shin was patting himself on the back for thinking up such a plan, until he realized something.

"Wait... Did I just... pull an Itachi...?"

As he was deep in though, the sound of a trash bag rustling brought his out of his reverie.

Looking around, he noticed someone trying to sneak away.

As the alley was getting more and more narrow the further away you went, Shin could simply hop from one wall to another.

"Well, hello there, president!" he said.

The one he just chased down was indeed Makoto Niijima.

"No, wait!" she said, covering herself with her arms, but Shin already had planned something else.

'If I'm gonna reference Itachi, then I better go all the way with it.'

Shin bent down slightly so he was on the same level as her and poked her on the forehead. The girl looked dazed for a second, before falling into deep sleep.

'Now, what should I do with her defenseless body?' thought the teen, although he was already lifting her.

He had placed the girl into a fireman's carry, and with his free hand he looked through her bag for an address.

Thankfully, Makoto seemed to take care of her things, as her bag had her address. In case she lost it, whoever found it could return it.

Shin had made himself less noticeable, so that him carrying Makoto wouldn't be seen by the bystanders.

'This thing's really useful.' he thought, while patting the pocket where he held the wishing star from Jose.

"You okay with what I did back there, Morgana?" asked the teen.

"I don't mind. I could see they were pretty bad, too. Though, I don't know what you had with that Hayato guy." said the cat.

"Hm? I remember you being pretty hesitant to tell us what might happen to those we steal the treasures from, back then. What changed?"

"I didn't change. I just didn't want you to quit because of what might happen to them."

"I see."

It only took the teen a few minutes to reach the apartment where the Niijima sisters lived.

Shin had placed Makoto in her bed after checking if Sae was home. Of course, he had to change her clothes as he couldn't let the girl sleep in her uniform.

When he was about to leave and head home, Makoto suddenly gripped his arm.

"Da... ddy..." she muttered.

'Damn son! You didn't even sleep with her and she's already calling you daddy! Good job, me!'

'Thank you, me.'

Shin shrugged his shoulders and went under the blanket.

"Don't mind if I do."
